I have to say, although a memeber of facebook, I rarely go on there unless I get an e mail telling me my sister has sent me a message, or my Grandson, or my Great Niece. With the latter two it is often the only contact I have with them and I am grateful that it exists for that purpose. :-)

Piers Darlink, for what it is worth, I am not on Facebook either, and I do not Tweet. Wouldn't know how to access either.
When I log off on here about 6.30/6.45, that is me done, for the day.
I have never been on here at night in almost the 5 years I have been a member. Not even if I have been up in the night in pain, and cannot sleep. It would never enter my head to do so.
So you are in good company, even if I say so myself. LOLOL

PS. I barley know how to use a mobile phone. I do take one into hospital, but only to ring home to tell the OH what the doctors have said when doing their morning rounds, and to tell him what to bring in when he visits
I have never felt the need to have one for constant use.

Ann.
Yes you maybe wouldnt have yours on but I dare say there are some thoughtless people who would have it on.say at a drunken party and there could be a 'baddie' in there lol

Marion, if I have a house full of friends I would not have my PC on, therefore none of them would be able toa ccess my facebook page. And even if it was on, unless they knew my password they would not be able to access it.

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 9 Jan 2012 15:54

LOL.

I'll try again.
There could be a house full of people in house, say a party. And theres nothing to stop the 'not trusted' friend of your friend, looking at their FB page,ie finding things out you would rather only your friend
s new about
Now that, is as clear as mud lol

Island Report 9 Jan 2012 15:41

Hi Island

I meant when they were in their house etc.

Island

Island Report 9 Jan 2012 15:24

Marion
Friends of friends can't see the originators page - unless that person chooses to be public.

My family and friends don't mix with J. Kyle type riff-raff so no worries.

MarionfromScotland Report 9 Jan 2012 15:16

I'm not on facebook either.

For what i have heard people do put too much info down.
ie being so silly as to put down your holiday dates etc.I know you have to allow people to see but as I pointed out to a family member, this maybe be your trusted friend but how many of their...not so trusted friends are looking in.

Piers, I doubt very much that you are the only person not on FB.

I have an account with a few trusted family and friends and have to say it is a myth that everyone airs their dirty linen on there.

You´re certainly not alone Piers.
As I have said before I can´t understand why some people are so anti ID cards because of loss of privacy, but are perfectly prepared to publish the most intimate details of their lives to the world.

Piers - I don't and do not Twit whatever that is.
