Merlin despising ready-grated cheese? Some time ago on here someone recommended as a quick microwave dish melting chopped up cheese in milk, then whisking in eggs - I tried with the grated cheese I had on hand and have used this formula as a very quick almost souffle type dish ever since! and l always keep some ready-grated cheese available

I can't be bothered to cook anymore but I did cook in the past. All that chipping, chopping and whisking - and if it's only for one sometimes its just as cheap to buy ready made like custard.

Not sure about the gravy Chris - do you mean meat juices thickened with bisto or daughter's (veggie) special or 4 scoops and half a pint of water.I was tempted by the turkey gravy I saw but that would be a waste for one. I need an OH they eat everything up!

some people work till very late and fancy more than beans on ,,,nothing wrong with aleady mashed spuds and anything else thats quick......I dont fancy peeling spuds and veg cook and eat at 8/9 or ten at night....and fish and chips or pizza or takeaway isnt always wanted or liked......easypeasy...... :-D

making own custard doesnt come out of a tin or packet...but from scratch......eggs milk flavouring and cream.....yummy....so using birds powder is short cutting...... :-D :-D :-D :-D

You can't beat T***cos ready made mash. However in the interests of thrift I bought a masher the other day with a view to diy. I expect that potato will be baked instead.

Chris

I suppose I can use the juices from the box (Turkey is in) and make gravy in a saucepan. Beats 4 scoops and water.
