Thanks Jude
its so sad that despite everything he lost the battle.

he leaves a wife and adopted daughter as well as 3 daughters from a previous marriage.

It really doesnt seem fair how things pan out sometimes

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 10 Dec 2011 16:21

Haven't posted this before because its too sad. My sister has lost her eldest son William on 1st Dec, He had leukemia 14 years ago and had 1years extensive chemo and a bone marrow transplant from one of his brothers.
He had 12 years of good health with 6 monthly checks and all seemed to be doing OK. Earlier this year one of his check ups found possible problems and 4 months ago he was told he had developed cancer in the lymph nodes in his chest. Apparently he should have been on Herceptin but they didnt prescribe or follow this up.
After 3 months extensive chemo that would have only delayed the inevitable the cancer went rampart and bless him he died 1st Dec.

My sister & her hubby are devastated .you dont expect to lose your child before you,

Our daughter used to talk to him on face book as they had a kinship , she having gone through chemo for Hodgkins and got her all clear in Oct this year.

We are going to his funeral on Wed . Whilst he was still able he appointed one of his brothers to do all the financial things and make the arrangements for his cremation etc he requested no flowers ,thought they were a waste of money!. and no one to wear black. Donations to a charity in his memory.

What a brave man .

he is being cremated at the same crematorium that my mum and dad were cremated in 1975 & 1980

RIP William, a very brave man
