Thanks Julia, yes I will. I read a Jamie tip about putting butter under the skin of turkey, have you ever done that? It is supposed to make it moist.

Yes Ann, I have done that, and it works. Stops the meat from drying up.

We always have turkey for Christmas and ham for New Years, but as my son isn't fond of turkey I will do a small beef roast whenever he shows up!!
I do like the sound of lobster though . . . . but a leg of lamb would be wonderful for me but I doubt the rest of the family would be that keen.

Dont know yet as we dont like turkey chicken or duck,,


so probally beef, pork or lamb which have joints in freezer ....

as long as I get some good yorkies and oxo gravy I dont care about what meat,

few years ago,,,went out and had gammon,chips and egg and crusty rolls it was wonderful after having pre dinners for couple weeks it was a welcomed change.......

Like Fairways our Christmas is often very warm. I usually do a sit down Christmas lunch with tomato and grilled haloumi cheese salad and prawn cocktails for starters. Then we have cold ham, turkey and various salads with my mum's trifle for dessert. In the afternoon we nibble on mince pies, Christmas cake and cheese and biscuits. On Boxing Day we have a lazy day and then in the evening my brother and SIL come over for a meal that we put together with our left-overs. This is actually my favourite meal as it's so relaxing.
