Have to say I am now using 4 about 40% of the time I am on the site. Which in a short time of zero on 4 has shot up. Thankyou GR I am enjoying this part of the site.

On reflection, this poll is a bit pointless isn't it?

11 million members and a mere handful of replies. You know you won't get remotely near enough replies to warrant a fair outcome.

So what is it about? The team wanting a stickie at the top of the board as an attempt to suggest a presence?

2 is just too awful as a layout.

anything else I prefer to go elsewhere to ask as I find other sites helpers better attitueds far friendlier.

1. When I first started and set up my tree. Hardly look at GR tree now I have an established tree elsewhere and one off line.

2. Not as much as I used to when I first started and was using searching trees and asking questions.

3. Very very seldom, only in the beginning.

4 General Chat, every day, either lurking or posting. Geneology Chat or Find rellies etc. Used to help others. Now there seems to be so many helpers these days, I feel sort of superfluous. Suggestions, always have a quick look and occasionally add my two cents worth. Give quizzes etc a big miss now it is a separate board.

5. Only when I am stuck for somewhere to search, and remember the feature is available

6. Never. Have only really looked about three times in over two years. Not ever found a hot match which was relevant.


I prefer the boards the way they used to be about two and a bit years ago. And yes you are right I don’t particularly like change unless is for the better.

By the way has anyone noticed the improvement in the speed of this site in the last few days? I have had two “go away you can’t get in” messages in the past week, but now it seems to be working really, really well. OK so I am holding a lump of wood in my hand just in case I invoke the disaster genie by daring to add a positive comment.

Need to change my undergarments. Laughing so much!!

I am having trouble with my internet dropping out and losing my posts. When I have lots to say (normal), I now type into Word and then copy and paste into GR. I typed the above and forgot I had to log in. Went to log in, received the "go away" pink message, then used an incorrect log in name, more rejection, then another error message.

I really should have used a larger piece of wood to touch!!

I have made lots of friends on here and have had alot of help from user as well.

By far the best thing about this site are the boards, knocked the odd brick wall down with the help I had from others
