I received the letter telling me the money would be in my account in a couple of weeks and a few days later the money is in my account, oh had a cheque last year, but hasn't even had a letter yet!
Am I right in thinking they've cut the allowance to £200 per couple?

When I checked our banking today, £100 had gone in with my husband's NI number, nothing for me so far and no letters received. The seems to be no rhyme nor reason to the payments - last year my husband received the whole lot. It doesn't matter really as it all goes into the same pot.

I have received mine already.
Had a letter to say it would be paid within 2-3weeks.
The payment was paid into my bank account the next day.
How quick was that!!!!!
£200. £50 less than last year,
but all donations gratefully received.lol!!!

Thanks everyone for your replies. We received ours this morning. However, I rather think this makes a mockery of sending out the letter saying 2-3 weeks. It rather seems a waste of postage.
But, I am always glad to receive it.LOL. I hope everyone else's will not be too long.

I received a letter last Friday and money was in my bank account on Saturday......if I had been born a month earlier I would have received £300..qualifying date being born before 25th September 1931.. I was born 21 October 1931 so only received £200, this was greatfully received..my surname begins with P ( which does not stand for pest) LOL

Those of you who were sixty this year and hoping to receive it now will have to wait as the qualifying age is being increased by two monthly increments for every one month of age until it reaches sixty five, in line with the increase of women's state pension age.

I now wont qualify for WFA until the 11th Jan 2012 so won't receive it until next winter. Someone who reaches sixty, say, next April, will now have to wait even longer until the 2014 / 2015 winter to get it.
