I did wonder that and suggested it to OH but we have no receipts for it, He bought it on line and doesn't seem to have kept the receipt. I suppose he could ask.

also, I think they usually want proof of a police crime number or something. Being lost on private property he has not contacted the police as he would expect a fellow player to hand it in at the club house. I think inertia has set in now!!!!

I'm grateful for Island's post because I too was a little bewildered, being over 35 ;-)

Fingers crossed for your hubby, Ann.

I always thought a golf caddy was those people who take care of the golfer's clubs, while they're playing. I admit to knowing next to nothing about golf though and have picked that up from seeing a couple of events on the t.v..

Btw while I may be over the age of 35, I'm not that old :-P

Oops, meant to say hopefully it will be returned to him. The fact it hasn't been handed in yet could simply mean that nobody noticed it today and it could still be found another day.

The person who carries the clubs is a golf caddie. This is called a Sky Caddy. dictionary definition of caddy, a small container.

Don't ask me :-S :-S :-S :-S

As soon as it is switched on it says 'registered to......' so yes it is identified. But even if it didn't, it is on a golf course and if found should be handed in to the club house. Not heard anything yet. He is waiting until this afternoon when if still not heard he will put a block on it. He has already informed Sky caddy. (The firm)

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd then we have electric golf caddys (for the carrying of golf clubs) sometimes loosely referred to as electric trolleys. It is a whole new world out there with expensive gadgets out there for the golfer with a dream that if he buys this or that he will become another Tiger Woods whatever his/her age - usually males!!!

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 Oct 2011 13:01

Not just gadgets Chris, I have lost count of the number of new clubs that are going to improve the game all by itself!!!!

Tell me about it Ann although I am glad to say that in the past 10 years or so OH has resigned himself that he is fortunate to be able to play golf and to enjoy his outings with his little friends and that at his age his handicap will never ever come near the 5 handicap of our g.son with whom he plays regularly!! God bless their little cotton socks!

Have to admit it used to make buying for birthday and Christmas a lot easier.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 Oct 2011 13:26

Wonderful when they are young and can achieve these low handicaps. T was on 5 for years, 3 for a couple of years but is consistently off 8 now. Perversely though he quite likes it when he gets a shot back these days as it gives him more chance of winning competitions. I have to say he doesn't do badly though for 73 he has been Seniors' (over 55s) champion the past two years.

He tries to enjoy it even when not winning, although he is very competitive, as they get older. So many of his fellow golfers are incapacitated or worse so they do try to just enjoy the fact that they are still able to play.

sorry to hear that ann.hubby never got a thank you for what he done, but ive been told by some members that im selfish for wanting a thank you,its said that the person who owned the stuff my husband found could be ill or even died(thats why he didnt say thank you)but he managed to drive from sheffield to angelsey to pick up his property, its just bad manners, someone has found your husbands golf caddy and kept it for themselves.x :-(

Sorry your hubs gadget didn't turn up Ann, I still think it could be lying in the grass - has it been mowed since?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 29 Oct 2011 16:51

Glad you asked Jude. Thinking the same ie rather large to miss!. You learn something new every day. That's very annoying Ann. Hope someone has it and has forgotten to hand it in. Have you tried the local Police station.
