Wish you lived near here then wend, i wouldn't refuse one.

Actually when I put up about a glut of cucumber somebody said to slice, coat in flour and fry. Now, the two are not dissimilar. You could experiment. After all I roasr courgettes.

It was years before i realised that "Jelly" as in peanut butter and jelly sandwiches was actually jam!!
Not that i know anyone that eats it mind!!
I imagined people adding wibbly wobbly jelly on top of peanut butter!!
Brrrrr!!! :-S

Lol Ann! We've already had a few stuffed ones (with mince, etc.), but I'd like to do something different. Perhaps I should try frying marrow pieces and topping with a fried egg - boy, that sounds truly yukky! I love marrow just boiled myself, but there is a limit to how much you can eat and we can't give them away, no-one wants them!

As for making jam, I'd rather spend a couple of hours heavy digging on my allotment :-D

Just thinking that your Posh Nosh designer dish might even be improved with the addition of a rasher or two of chopped bacon (dare I say lardons!) fried up with the onions, Dizzi. It sounds a tasty dish anyway and you could experiment with the addition of anything that might be sitting around in the fridge! x :-)

Well Wend, there is one suggestion stuff it! :-D

We actually like marrow cooked gently in water and drained then tossed in butter. with plenty of pepper.

I am sure you can make marrow and ginger jam too although I never have as OH doesn't like ginger.

I have to admit liking jam with cheese (not strawberry jam though, must be a sharp one. I also like butter and jam or honey on weetabix. But I haven't had either of the above for years. (I also like marmite but not with jam). And, I like mayo with chips, tomato sauce on lots of things, although it doesn't taste like it used to since they changed the recipe.
I like chopped walnuts on baby sprouts steamed.
Also like the sound of the posh bubble with no squeak, or is it squeak with no bubble Dizzi.

Wend Report 18 Oct 2011 20:16

Sorry Dizzi - I really like the sound of your gordon blue concoction and I'm going to try it.

Btw - I've picked 5 marrows off my allotment - any suggestions?

On me ownsome tonite, so I'm just about to have a salmon steak drizzled with a mustard and dill sauce I bought at hi-kea yesterday and, when I've finished, I shall lick the plate - because I can, 'cos no-one's looking. How common is that :-P
