Well if you're working on the basics...I'm a feminist...but if you factor in all the other stuff...then I'm definitely not !!

I'm 41 and I still get hugs and kisses off my dad.....and why not ....I'm his baby in the same way as mine will always be to me whatever their age ffs.

. I'm insulted to think that anyone would consider showing affection to one's children to be odd or manipulative.

Me and My OH adore them..and smother them with kisses.....is it ok for ME to do but not him ??? I think not !!!

Do you think a feminist supports equal pay for doing the same job?
That part i would agree with,,,,but the rest of it seems to be more complex....as muffy said,,,grown more layers,
Or do feminist add stuff that suits them?

and i am proud of my kids for doing so
their dads the best dad in the world and has always
put the kids first no matter what or how old they are
they have had the best childhood possible
they have ebrought up in a loving home

his grand kids love him to
you only have to see their facebook posts on his to see it

Feminism is -advocacy of womens equal rights on all levels,,to men or other..... and a feminist supports these ideals......

some feminist though only want it a half way pact,as as soon as a man swears and acts towards her like he would another man then,,,,,,god forbid all hell breaks lose and she wants his blood.........

I don't know... I haven't needed to sue for my own equality I have expected it and in most instances I have had it.Everything I have I have got for myself ( apart from two engagement rings lol)

That is of course not the same in every culture, and I would always go out of my way to encourage women to 'know' they are equal...doesn't mean making out men to be a breed apart who are all sexual dominance, aggression and patriarchal control.

I hug my son and say I love him, if i was a man with a daughter I would expect to be able to do the same without someone seeing it as 'sexual'.

Well..I have to admit I was half asleep when I was watching it (not unusual) but she was banging on about young girls flirting with their fathers by kissing them goodnight.????

Haven't had time to properly process it all or watch again to see if I'd missed anything else said tbh...but even half asleep it made me do a double take..and what with Claire's thread veering into that direction it just brought it back into my consciousness.

I always thought it was about equal rights for women. But having seen Claire in Lincs thread and Germaine Greer on Question Time on Thursday...it seems to have grown more layers??? Or maybe I just haven't been paying attention?
