I will be getting my bus pass out and getting as far as I can from a T.V. I love the Royals, but can't stand all this twaddle.

Thank you for all your replies. After talking to several people at work, I thought I was being an oddball by doing what I was doing, but it seems that maybe I'm not weird.

By the way, thought I might add. We have football on Friday evening here. One of our channels announced last night that, "the royal wedding would be live during the breaks in the football."

In am scratching my head. Does this mean each time a goal is scored or it is the end of a quarter we will be zapped to London to watch the pomp and splendour instead of having the normal commercial breaks.

Think I will be looking for a pay TV channel without the football interrupting. Then again, footy is important. Oh decisions, decisions.

Our TV here in Tenerife is so unpredictable that we probably won't get to see it. Not too worried though although if I was home I would watch it.

I will be going out!!
Thursday is pay day, so on Friday, me and unemployed friend will be going somewhere in his car - I pay for the petrol.
Not sure where yet, possibly to the New Forest for a long ramble - it depends on the weather.
Then popping into a large supermarket so I can stock up on cat food, as I'm going on holiday on Sunday, and another friend is house/cat sitting!!

Anyone in the Northampton Area who is going out of the way of TV tomorrow, let me know and I could join them for a ride out somewhere. I can't drive because of a stroke but would share the petrol costs.

Really looking forward to watching it.

Very proud of our Royal heritage even though many royals have 'let the side down' at times. I think William has was it takes to be a super King when the time comes.

I really want my grandkids to see how the the British can rise to the occasion of a royal event and they are now old enough to appreciate it.

Loos? I went to a Maundy Thursday service at our cathedral a few years ago and a row of portaloos was set up because of the expected numbers. Presumably, the same happens at big events such as Royal weddings........lol

Bring it on.......!

I'm off to the pub wioth a big group of friends where we're having breakfast and then a drop or two while the wedding will be showing in the background. I like a bit of Royal wedding:))

Island, I've heard a few people saying they've been overwhelmed by the media hype - do what I do and don't sit on your backside taking it all in ;). I only watch the news in the morning and listen to a bit of radio when I'm driving so I really haven't been subjected to all the nonsense.

Didn't think I was being rude Island but take it how you like - just seems dopey to me to complain about something you don't have to subject yourself to. I can sit on a pc for hours without having to read or listen to anything on a subject I dont want to.

I will be as far away from a TV set as I can. I will be out walking, in the middle of the pennines.

Well - I've done one thing - turned off the TV. All the major UK news channels have wall to wall coverage of the Joe Public waiting in the street. It's as interesting as watching paint dry. Is there no other 'News' from other parts of the World or UK?

absolutely brilliant - only the Brits can do something as spectacular as a Royal occasion - everything was so perfect = apart from the outfits of Eugenie and Beatrice - looked like they got theirs from Primark!!!

Beckhams looked great but Tara Palmer Tomkinson's new nose looked rather strange!!

I'm in the middle of decorating my front room so it's on with my painting gear and back to the emulsion!!!
