Used to like both Van der Valk and The Gentle Touch. Wonder why they don't repeat these sort of series. Maybe they do on Sky etc but we get loads of repeats on BBC and ITV so why not those? I seem to remember that the signature tune to Van der Valk was popular too but can't remember it for the life of me.

Dear All

Hello

Hope you are well and doing okay.

Remember some of the above classic TV programmes?

"Van der Valk" was set in Amsterdam, televised in the 1970's and then returned in the early 1990's.

"The Gentle Touch" with Jill Gascoigne ran for five series, she played a police inspector and the series was a huge hit.

"The Sweeney" who could forgot the words of Regan, played by the superb John Thaw when arresting someone:
"We're the Sweeney, Son and we haven't had any dinner!!".

Please add some more memories of police or detective shows you liked to watch.

In the words of Michael Conrad in "Hill St Blues",
"Lets be careful out there".

Take gentle care
Very best wishes
xx
