My mum passed away 8 years ago now, and it is still very hard for me to come to terms with her not being here with us all. My dad after spending 6 weeks by her side at the hospice (he never left to go home) went to pieces and could not deal with anything afterwards.
saw my big soft 6ft 3inch hero reduced to a quivering wreck in the following weeks. They did everything together and were the life and soul of the party.........dad is 80 now and everything crossed I hope he will be with us for a few more years to come.

I often think to myself that I hope my two kids dont miss me as much as I miss her...........strange thought I know.........but I just could not bear to think of them suffering the heartache that I had.

God Bless all us mums I say.

Mama you taught me to do the right things
So now you have to let your baby fly
You've given me everything that I will need
To make it through this crazy thing called life
And I know you watch me grow up and always want whats best for me
And I think I found the answer to your prayers

And he is good, so good
He treats your little girl like a real man should
He is good, so good, he makes promises he keeps
No he's never gonna leave
So dont you worry about me
Dont you worry about me

Mama theres no way you'll ever lose me

My Mum didnt express her feelings and although I loved her it wasnt something I said.
I did all I could to help her in her years of illness including her wishes in never telling any one her age, including not putting a date of birth on her headstone!

My Dad who died in Feb was more expressive and liked a hug.

Big hugs and love to them both.

I can't tell Mum that now.But I did say I loved her just before she passed away.I left her at lunchtime and had to drive 7 hours home. She sadly died while I was on the road. But even though I wasn't with her when she went I knew I had given her a big hug and said I loved her.She gave a little wave over the top of her sheet. That is nearly 6 years ago now,but it seems like yesterday.

My Aunt died a couple of months ago ,my cousin her only surviving son used to speak to her every day or text " Love you mum"
When she was buried he put her mobile in her pocket and he still texts "love you mum" even though the battery has run out
