Never send PMs to "Genes". He/she/it doesnt read them. The one I sent about the first line not matching the post hasn't been opened.

Maybe this belongs in one of those threads about rude people who don't read/answer their PMs ......

Genes Reunited Member Survey

Posted by
Genes 6th July 2010 16:56

For all of those who could not take part in the research study sessions taking place in London, we have created an online survey. Participate in the survey by copying and pasting this link into your browser address bar. http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22AXVZ2AAJ7

To all of those who have already taken the time to complete the survey, we would like to thank you for your time and opinions

Have sent this email:-

General board Genes' sticky has disappeared

I thought you would want to know that the Genes' sticky about the survey has disappeared from the general board
ie
"For all of those who could not take part in the research study sessions taking place in London, we have created an online survey. Participate in the survey by copying and pasting this link into your browser address bar. http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22AXVZ2AAJ7

It is still on the chat board but looks as if it is about something different - "Has your family history taken you on an exciti..." until it is opened.

I look forward to the survey thread being reinstated on the general board. I feel it is important that you receive constructive criticism. Thank you.

And today I have an error message where my inbox should be ... again. And still no reply from the management to my demand that they fix it. Raise yr hand, everybody who's surprised!

Oh, they haven't read my PM about the stickied post, of course.

Ah, Joy, that would be the one where I posted the (still unread) PM I sent to "Genes"? Happy to repeat myself!

Genes Support Team
please take note - re GR survey post on Chat board
30/07/2010 19:40:19

There is a stickied post on the Chat board about access to the online survey.

HOWEVER

This is how that post appears in the list for that discussion forum:

Genes Reunited Member Survey
Has your family history taken you on an exciti...

Note the line of text that appears under the subject line.

You are apparently not aware of how your message boards function.

Once a post has been added to the board, the text of the post can be edited and changed. This is evidently what you have done.

HOWEVER

The initial line of text that appears under the subject line on the board does *not* change. It will always be the initial line of whatever text was in the post when it was first added.

Evidently, rather than create a new post about the online survey, and pin it, you have edited the text of an existing post. This is the result.

Some of us find it rather entertaining that whoever is doing this is so utterly clueless about how the board functions.

Or perhaps you are not really wanting actual users of the site to access the survey?

I think I'll go request access to Genes's tree ...

Hi.
Just read the text about improvements to this site the one i think they should do is improve the chat site. Make it like most of the others like facebook so its instant messaging instead of having to wait ages to see the next message
