yes indeed ...that's one i can sing actually lol ...not too high

Pearl's a singer

She stands up when she plays the piano

In a nightclub

Pearl's a singer

She sings songs for the lost and lonely

Her job is entertaining folks

Singing songs and telling jokes

In a nightclub

Pearl's a singer

And they say that she once was a winner

in a contest

Pearl's a singer

And they say that she once cut a record

They played it for a week or so

On the local radio

It never made it

She wanted to be Betty Grable

But now she sits there at that beer stained table

Dreaming of the things she never got to do

All those dreams that never came true

Pearl's a singer

She stands up when she plays the piano

In a nightclub

Pearl's a singer

She sings songs for the lost and the lonely

Her job is entertaining folks

Singing songs and telling jokes

In a nightclub

Rose - you might have to wait until the jukebox and Sue are finished! Although you may not have to wait long 'cos she can't sing can she? LOL

Hot rum and black is definitely a hot toddy - marvellous when you have a rotten cold or virusy thing ...

suzian Report 24 Jul 2010 22:49

What next - oh, a bit of Marv Johnson

Sing along, gang

"I'll pick a Rose for my Rose
Cos somehow I think she knows
......"

Does this establishment have a piano? If I have another wine I might lounge across it and do a little chanteusing.......

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Jul 2010 22:47

Do you think that hot Rum and blackcurrant is a hot toddy ? or is that an altogether different mix ?

These card board cut outs are getting heavy , I think I'll position them round the bar area in natural poses .

Will someone please wake up that "civil" "servant"?

He's here to offer us his expert advice on how to run this community pub. Not to snooze in the corner.

I;ll just wander over to the juke box and put on a bit of Diana Ross in honour of Amanda and her Chain Reaction

Slurp, slurp

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Jul 2010 22:37

I can't have another one yet .....I seem to feel compelled to hold hands with the rather two dimentional fellows to my right and left..............I'm in the middle of a paper chain reaction !

He didn't add Coke in those days ... blackcurrant by choice.

I remember as a very young child if I was recovering from a cold or virusy thing he would at some point appear with a hot blackcurrant drink - which was lovely and a rare treat as it was part of his "tipple". As I grew old enough to be allowed alcohol he would put a splash of rum in it. Lovely jubbly. I couldn't drink rum and blackcurrant cold, and I don't drink rum anyway, but a HOT rum and black - oh yes!

Jill

p.s. A parrot would suit you but is liable to poo down your back so make sure you're not wearing anything TOO precious!

Blimey! You got through that one pretty quick!

(hands yet another LARGE glass of excellent vino to the slightly tipsy lady in the flat crowd)

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Jul 2010 22:34

Maybe I ought to dress up as " Long John Silver " then Jill........but I can't imagine he would have had coke with his tot of the hard stuff .

Wanders about looking for a parrot to perch on my shoulder ...........lol

(peers out from behind numerous cardboard cut-outs of a crowd)

Is anyone going to get me another glass of wine?

All this crowd impersonation is thirsty graft

Rose! Welcome dahlink! Of course it's a civil servant but he hasn't yet realised that this is a pub so ignore him!

tee hee Amanda - sorry, my son drinks Rum and Coke sometimes (he's wheat free and can't drink most beers on offer ...) but it always strikes me as an old man's drink. Maybe that's because my dad was in the RN and that was about the only alcohol he would drink ...

Jill

Amanda2003

Rambling

Rambling Report 24 Jul 2010 22:26

Just the one then please ...or i get silly :)

( that's not a civil servant sitting in the corner is it? wouldn't want him noting how much of my dole money I spend in here!)

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 24 Jul 2010 22:26

I can do better than that Jill ......I 'll strap some life sized card board cut out people to either side of me and then move about ......that is sure to make it look like a crowd from the outside : )
