Hi Shy... so sorry that I have not replied to this earlier but I did not see it.

You must have been in such a state when it happened.
I'm so glad that they are both doing well now.
Bless them both.

What a horrid situation for you to be in with both your parents in the car ....

You say at one point "cars are ment to be safe" ...well they are and when the shock has subsided you will know in your heart that they are

The impact of the other car on your parents was take up by the engine being pushed towards the driver and passanger ....and then stopped and they are very lucky they had the engine there

Many of these silly space wagon things dont have that and therefore I cant see how the impact can not do more damage to the people

Take Care of you in this as your parents will both need lots of TLC when they do get home

Hi Shy,

I am sorry to read of this accident and hope your parents will soon be their old selves again. Best for them both to be sure they are well enough before they insist on coming home, shock can come out a few days later sometimes and if they are in hospital or a care home, they can be monitored and treated if necessary on top of the treatment they are needing at the mo.

I assume you mean you used to drive their car sometimes, won't the insurance provide a courtesy car while things are being sorted out? Don't push yourself to do any more than is necessary tho as you and your sister must be shocked too.

It's good news that their injuries aren't worse, and I hope your Dad will have the confidence to continue driving when he is well again and a new car purchased. Hope the insurance claim goes smoothly for you.

Take care,
love

Thanks, Dad is staying in for tonight at least and Mum is looking a little better than she did last night. She was so worried about Dad that they let him see her today and now he is worried about her "she looks awful" well not as awful as last night, she looked twice her age and so fragile, and at 81 that's not good , but she looks her right age now, so an improvement, Their talking of putting her in a care home for a while cause there is no way she can come home for a while yet.

Behind the wheel my Dad is a great driver, he has two speeding tickets because if speed traps and that is it! The mean worry seems to be because the car is gone I have no way of getting anywhere unless someone drives me. On well, I guess I will survive

I'll kept you posted

Sorry to hear of the accident. Hopefully your parents will both recover quickly and your dad will soon be back behind the wheel, if he is comfortable with the idea of driving.

Now then. You and your sister are to look after yourselves, and don't run yourselves into the ground.

Oh RMS I am sorry about your parent's accident. Road traumas happen so quickly and leave so many families with injuries or worse.

It is good to know that your Mum and Dad's injuries are not life threatening. Keep your spirits high and know we are all thinking about you and your family.
