Hi Shy,

Hope your Mum will soon settle when she is moved and it will help her get more mobility and maybe then her breathing will be even better, could be because she is not able to move about much is making it difficult.

Tell your Dad I am glad he has joined the Purple clan lol

take care, hope it won't be too long before things are back to normal and you can all live at home again, your home I mean

Being in Rehab will feel to her that she is improving, and they can give her intensive physio there. She will probably get bac on her feet much quicker then. It will be a bit as though she is being thrown out before she is ready. but I would say it will be for the best.

They are thinking of releasing Mum and putting her into a 'rehabilitation centre', for a couple of weeks, before sending her home. Some people are saying yay and some others are saying, "well she really isn't ready to leave yet". They have to wait for somewhere to have a spare room. Hopefully it will be a while before they move her, cause right now she is having trouble walking and her breathing isn't the best either, Although that is improving.

She got her cast today, for her broken thumb, a nice green one, so it won't clash with Dads which is purple.

Hi Shy,

so glad to hear your Dad is out of hospital and hope your Mum will continue to do well and will be home before too long.
It must have been a worrying time for you and your sister so take care and maybe you can all get back to normal in the not too distant future.

Like some others, I have only just seen this.

I'm glad that their injuries are not life threatening. They are obviously quite aged and therefore more fragile than a younger person, so they probably got away relatively lightly, although it won't feel like that !

Wishing them a rapid and full recovery.

DAD IS HOME ! (well, at least at my sisters home) which is a step in the right direction.

Mum is still in the hospital, but they took her IV out, it is possible that they might put it back in, who knows but........ I missed her walking today by 5 minutes. I guess she walked about the circle, well almost anyway. I guess Dad is the one that told her that she has to eat to get better.

Yipeeeeeeeeeeeee

Hi Shy,

glad things are moving on a bit and your Dad will soon be out of hospital, and hope your Mum will improve so she can get home soon too. It's early days for her to be walking far as yet, I am sure as she gains strength and heals things will be better, and shock can make people weak too

Hope your sis has a big house! Sounds as tho it will fill up more as time goes by

Shy - the healing will start slowly but the improvements will get better and better and they will soon be on the mend. I hope the young girl has now stopped and thought about speed and what can result from such unnecessary behaviour.

You say cars are meant to be safe but they are also a lethal weapon if not managed correctly.

I wish them all the best with their healing process and for your families as well. Can be a trying time.

Just read this, and wish your parents well.
I'm sure your mum will make good progress, and your dad will do well when he gets out of the hospital.

Isn't it funny how being in your own surroundings always does you more good.

Shy every long journey starts with one step. I hope that your Mum soon increases the number of steps she can take and that she will soon be well again. Hope all goes well for your Dad coming out of hospital.

Dads doctor is hoping that he can be released on Thursday (July 15) but he won't be going home, he will be coming here to my sisters house. Dad said he doesn't see why we can't go home cause he is sure that we can handle it, but that we will have to see.
Mom is slowwwwwwwwwly improving. Yesterday (July 13) she walked halfway to the window and back (about 20 steps) but she had two nurses on either side of her. For a women who walked 5 km with no problem, 20 steps is not very good but it is a start, I guess.

It has been a week and we have already seen some improvement. Dad is walking around a little bit, Mom is breathing better most of the time now, although it seems to be worse at night.

Mom is out of ICU and is in fact on the same floor as Dad, except on the oppisite side. SHe has 2 broken ribs, and broken thumb, torn ligements, interal injuries,, which seem to be healing by themselves. She has trouble breathing because the ribs.
Dad has a broken collorbone, spiral fatcure in his hand, broused lungs and other stuff. Dad might be out next week hopefully but Mom has a long way the go. The girl who hit them, as far as we know, is fine.
