Really I want Algy to prove the Octopus is all talk and all legs...after all I've got my heart set on those Find My Past lookups. The list is too long for just the one game.

Come on England and Algy!

Hmmm, it's hard to pick holes in this one, I admit. Octopi are well known for their footballing enthusiasm and are probably the most knowedgeable of the cephalopods in this specialist area, ranking alongside some of the larger members of the crustacean genus.

I think that spells doom for England, then. Mind, I had a word with Algy, my pet tortoise, and he chose bits of ripe tomato bearing the England flag every time. Next time I'll try it with a double blind test, using Algy as the subject and Freda, the goldfish with the amazing memory, as the control.

Watch this space.

Somehow I don't think you have to be psychic to predict a win by Germany, when it comes to football lol

'Psychic' octopus predicts Germany victory over England

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/10420131.stm

A "psychic" octopus is said by its aquarium owners to have predicted the country's football team will knock England out of the World Cup.

When consulted, Paul the octopus chose a mussel from a jar with the German flag on it ahead of one in a similar jar bearing the cross of St George.

The two-year-old cephalopod has a record of predicting past German results in this manner, his owners say.

Paul has so far correctly predicted all of Germany's results in South Africa.

Now Eldrick, how could you argue with Paul the psychic Octopus?
