Yes I did to both counts. I just got lost in the garden as it was such a nice day and comfortable to work with it not being too hot. I lose track of time when I'm out there. I do a bit of this and a bit of that and then look at some thing else and talk to the girls when I give them their corn and I suddenly thought.....phone call but by the time I got in and looked I had missed it. They usually ring about 5.30 to 6pm but htis call was 4. 15pm.
O well there's always next week......... :-S
I did both pond filters today too both needed it badly now I need to have the well pump on tomorrow to top them both up.
Hope you all sleep well tonight and are not too hot.

The subject today was clouds Ann. That is a long time to wait for an appointment and doesn’t excuse all the unanswered phone calls.
Mel do you mean you are taking the pills you were told to stop? And did you miss the Drs call?

Evening All,
Phew it's been too hot for me today and the car said 32 degrees this afternoon when I went out.
<3HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY to JAKE <3. I hope he was pleased with his personalised number plate and has probably got it fixed on his car already. :-D My word all those 1000 burgers and more to be made! I expect there will be a lot of barbeques over the next few days. I bet you are glad to have had your hair trimmed Mandy so it's a bit cooler for you in this hot weather.
I dropped OH off near the hospital this morning and there was a nurse there who checked his records and told him he'd had a text for a telephone appointment on the 4th June, (which seems poor anyway to have to wait nearly 3 weeks for advice after a reaction like his was!) He told her hadn't received a text, so she looked further into the records and agreed and said the text was supposed to have been sent, but it hadn't been!! So she then sent the text he should have had. At least he hasn't been any worse today, but was advised to keep covered up from the sun and that sweating could bring the rash back. At least he won't book anything else for the appointment time now he knows. OH feels that more and more is being unfairly pushed onto A&E with the poor service and people not getting help elsewhere. It's made him feel the lack of help and support when he needs it has made him reluctant to even try other medication they might suggest.
The yellow flowered plant was an Osteospermum Mel. It came to me in bed last night. I mentioned to OH that you weren't told to ease off the tablets gradually by your doctor and he said he was told it had to be done gradually by his doctor or there would be a massive rebound with the reflux worse than ever. I hope you managed to phone the doc. I wouldn't have ham or coffee that isn't decaf just now while you are having trouble. the salt and the nitrites in ham can make it worse. D
Oh no you don't want it wet or windy for your stay at your daughter's AnnG. It looks dry and pretty warm till the end of the month here, but of course it may vary elsewhere and change by then. What was the subject of the photography meeting?
That was good to get the big duvet cover washed and dried Vera. I just haven't ventured in the garden. It was too hot by the time we got back from the city and I called in the Co-op to get nice and cool after getting more Petunias from the village garden centre.

I have been in the garden nearly all day. I strimmed the back garden down at Prickly Bottom and then all along the front of my shed and a bit up the orchard till the battery ran out. BIL was here mowing and he did everywhere but the orchard again. Then he went off to do his tax they are trying to give im a bill of £4,000 so I forgave him for not stayin g longer. He did take the top filter out in the filter shed and cleaned that for me as I can't reach that. I can't even see in it I'm too short. If I want to see inside it I have to use the mirror on a stick thing.
Some bird has had a go at my box seedlings I spricked out and I have a few empty plugs so they will have to be refilled. I have some over.
Put more Strawberries in the little greenhouse. Seen Robby today as I had'nt seen him for three days so he must have finished feeding the first brood. They must be fending for them selves now.
Had a parcel arrive with things I have bought for the garden and for Christmas presents. went back out after lunch and totally forgot about the doc ringing me till it was too late. I had a nice walk around the garden. Lots needs cutting off the Damon trees they ahve lots of dead wood in them.
I have had another free day from indigestion because I took a capsule today and soup at lunchtime with bread did'nt upset me so I am having Egg, beans and chips tonight.

HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY JAKE
I hope Jake has a lovely day though it sounds as if he is having a busy day at work
Like you AnnG I spent over an hour in the garden this morning but had to come in by about 11 am because of the heat. I also got a king size duvet cover washed and dried and did the little bit of ironing that was waiting around. Since lunch I've done a bit of admin and a couple of little jobs Now I'm going to trawl the internet to try to find a birthday present for dil.
It's currently 26 degrees. A bit too hot for me but it seems only a few days since I was moaning that it was too cold - we're never happy, are we.

Good morning all 17 degrees already so it is going to be another warm one. Apparently it was wet and cold where daughter lives yesterday. I hope that is not going to be the case while I am up there. cold and wet there and sizzling at home (so the garden suffers). I slept ok, it was very warm in bed at0600 but I did doze off and didn't get up until 0715. Leg was pinching a bit then.
U3a Photography this afternoon but might get a bit done in the garden this morning. I did sort a few pots out and moved some around a bit on the gravel about 6pm yesterday so I know where some of the new plants are going.

Annx was it Bidens the daisy?
Well I was a naughty girl this morning and I took a pill. I have been much better today and hav'nt had that horrid pain in my chest and a hot feeling in my tum. I had a plain ham sandwich for lunch with a glass of water and two digestive lights and another glass of water. After cleaning the girl nest out I cam ein and had a cup of half milk and half hot water.
Tonight I had a fruit scone with a spred of butter and an even thinner spread of jam and a tin of rice pudding and a glass of water and then another glass a bit later as I had'nt taken my pill and jointace.
I have to ring the surgery at 8.30am in the morning to get the doc to ring me back later in the day.

Good to hear from you Gwyn and to know that you are OK.
Mel, you should try to have another word with your doctor about this indigestion you get so much. If he doesn't put you back on the tablets he might at least give you some advice on diet. Would it help if you ate at more regular times? That was nice of your neighbour to give you a bottle of rose.
I'm glad your optician's appointment went well AnnG. I've never heard of the Amsler chart so I'll be googling that now. Your new garden patch will look a picture when everything is in bloom. I haven't got a blue penstemon so I must look out for one.
Annx, I am pleased that the doc isn't too concerned about DVT but that rheumatology department needs a good overhaul by the sound of it. I am sure they are busy but for the phone not to be answered and not to get a call back when promised is not acceptable. It just adds to the stress for the poor patient. It's sensible of your OH to put everything down in a letter. I'm a great believer in getting things in writing. I hope he gets seen very quickly now.
It has been a dry day of sunshine and clouds. This morning the temperature was comfortably warm but this afternoon it got very warm and quite humid. I'm so behind with all the jobs I need to do in the house and garden that I decided after lunch I'd have to get some work done in the garden even though it wasn't comfortable working outside. I managed to garden for about an hour and a half but I was wilting and headachy by then but I feel satisfied that I made a bit of a difference. I went out again about 7.30 to water the pots and it was a more comfortable temperature by then. I'm going to try and get out into the garden for an hour early tomorrow before it really hots up.
We just had pizza for our meal tonight. OH will occasionally have it if I've gone out for a meal with the "girls" but I rarely do. However I had some in the freezer and didn't feel much like cooking so I thought it would be quick and easy. I ate it very slowly as that's something that will give me indigestion if I'm not careful.
It's like an oven in my bedroom at the moment so I think I'll get out my big floor standing fan so I can just switch it on if the heat is keeping me awake. I hope we all sleep well with no aches, pains, indigestion or restless legs.

Evening All,
Another day of cloud or sunshine, but warmer again. I did a post last night but lost it somewhow and lost the will to do it all again as it was quite late for me!
OH saw the doctor yesterday and she wasn't worried about DVT with his legs, but couldn't say why they ached so much. ( we ourselves wonder if it is the new medication as it says it can be one of the many side effects) She, like the nurses, said not to do any more injections till he has seen rhuematology, but that the antihistamine wouldn't cause it and that the rash may come back and to take them again if it does. (it has worsened to some degree now, and the circle of red jamjar lid size where he did the injection is very pink again, so he has today). He left another message with the hospital yesterday, but still no response, so I am driving him there in the morning as it's been 6 days of attempted calls and messages left now and he can't carry on like this. In case he can't see anyone, he is going to type out a letter of all that's happened, the attempts to contact them with no response and the nurses and doctor he's been to see who have advised him he needs to be seen by rhuematology urgently and leave that with them.
I decided it was a grey area about the 'face to face' appointments when I looked it up as well and wondered if it was nurses as well as GPs. The NHS site said surgeries should explain about these appointments on their websites and to write to the Practice Manager if they don't. Ours doesn't.
I remember about those awful floods AnnG and the talk would bring back memories for you! No water for two weeks is a long time. Fancy that cloud hanging around, very strange. I haven't heard of that Amsler chart so perhaps it's new. Yes we have the boy racers on pavements here, some on EV bikes too. It's very dangerous.
Our farm shop sells the bunches of watercress. Asda sell it, but just in the bags. That was nice of your neighbour to give you a present Mel. I hope you didn't start the wine as that can cause indigestion as the alcohol irritates the stomach lining. As Mandy said, it could have been the gluten in the bread as that can affect some people as well. Maybe you should get a telephone appointment as it's not getting better and you just stopped them because they didn't say it should be gradual.
The schools here have just the week off like where Mandy is. Yes it does lead to all sorts of problems when children in a family attend schools in different areas. It leads to the increasing school appeals when a child doesn't get a school place in the same area as other children in the family too.
I went to the Garden Centre in the sticks with OH today and bought some Petunias for three pots, Bacopa in white and pink and a yellow petalled daisy like plant I have forgotten the name of now. I need more, but they were in a sweltering greenhouse and I couldn't bear it any longer. They are in our greenhouse now ready for hardening off and bringing out in the day.

I have just walked back from the opticians and it is sunny and 22 degrees out there now. and taking your life in your hands time bith boy racers on bikes on the pavements I dread to think what will happen if they hit anyone.
A slight change in my sight so new glasses ordered. My glasses are never cheap strange astigmatism correcting lenses and go dark in the sun as well. However they are not very much dearer than last year. In fact the actual frames are apparently still at last year's price.
I have been given an Amsler chart. Anyone else had one of these? It is a grid 4 inches square, small squares 20X20 small black dot right in the centre. Wearing normal glasses cover each eye in turn, hold the chart 12 inches from your face look at the dot in the centre. if any of the grid lines appear to be 'wavy' or if there are any broken or distorted lines or any blank patches. go straight to your optometrist. I have to say it is different to previous instructions to check the door frame.
Cataracts hve grown slightly but not yet reached the NHS level to stop driving. So agreed to leave that for another year.

Spent 40 minutes in the garden. Planted out into my new garden area (cleared by Jake) one blue Pensteman and on Nepeta Magic Dragon. Also transplanted into there a Honesty which a frien gave me. There are already two of the arge sedums which look lovely in late summer/Autumn. It is not a very large patch and I have one more Nepeta (Pursion blue) to plant there as well. I already a month ago planted a blue Aquilegia and a peach coloured Geum (Mai Tai).
This morning I also potted on and out three tomatoes. two garden centre bought and one from seed. Money Maker and Alicante for medium sized tomatoes from the garden centre and one a small one I grew lasy year Sungold (I think).
Resting now before my walk to the opricians.
