I usually dress up AnnG, but with such a busy time lately, I have borrowed a T shirt with a picture of The Tiger who came to tea.

Teachers arrange their individual classes to usually have various activities based on a book theme and I am invited to join in with them, but there will probably be time to hear a few readers too.
Lots of the children dress up or make a special hat to wear, but some years they have been invited to wear a cosy pair of pyjamas, as a nod to being ready to hear a bedtime story.
This means even the poorer families can feel included.
The school has several children with disabilities and they too love dressing up, so it's a fun day for all.

Take it easy Vera, no dashing around. Sounds as if your dreams were trying to dislodge all the 'rubbish' collected in your brain.Maybe the turning around feling on waking was to insist you slow down :-D

Mel, sort out the casts you think will sell the best and tidy the rest out of the way before you lose them!!!

Good morning all.

A very sunny day in the far south east, which is now burning off the very heavy mist we had earlier. 8 degrees and partly sunny, I'm being shown.
It looks as if it will be another nice day.
I will pop into town to put in my repeat prescription to the doctors. The system here is that the local nominated pharmacy gives out a new prescription, when we pick up our medication. We then hold that until towards the time we need more supplies, then tick required items and hand it in to GPs surgery for signing, allowing about 4 or 5 working days for the medication to be available to collect from our chosen chemist.
We get 2 months supply at a time, so it's not a bad system.
Might go and have a Lent Lunch at a nearby church, while I'm in town.

This afternoon I will sort out my clothes to wear for World Book Day at school tomorrow.
This evening I am being picked up to attend a meeting, which might go on a bit...
I hope we can discuss the relevent matters and get home really, as it's a busy week.

Morning Ann, Mel and all

It’s dry here and 6 degrees but it’s very misty with no sign of any sun breaking through. We have a fog warning for the next couple of hours. It was a weird night as I kept having strange dreams and waking suddenly. This went on right through the night. The oddest thing was that every time I woke I imagined my bed had turned 90 degrees. Goodness knows what was going on in my mind.

I need to get on with some h/w today but I think I will shower and wash my hair first.

Glad you've got sunshine as Iv'e got grey sky and my car is soaking wet with I think dew. its 8 degrees and pc is telling me tomorrows high ciould be a record.

Slept well up at 5.23am for the loo and was worried I would'nt go back to sleep but I did and then woke just after 8am.So here I am drinking my COC.

Nothiing planned for today so will just do whatever I want. I seem to have an awful lot of moulds out so I may do some casting.

Good morning all 5 degrees and sunny bright this morning, could be a nice day. I am up but not dressed, shower and hair wash in a minute. Nothing planned for today. Might see if another weeding half hour will be done. Strange about the empty house next door. Friend who lives opposite said that there was a car on the drive (matching, from the description, the daughter's car) at gone twelve o'clock. Pretty sure it was not there at 11pm. We, of course have no idea if they are cleaning it up for selling or moving in. I suppose we will find out sometime.

Its a plastic cockerel I got in a job lot of dolls house stuff and I put in in the box with other bits to make up another job lot of the things I did'nt want. Then I saw this idea so went and retrieved it for the selling box. Its not turned out quite like I thought it would but it will do.

I just wish I could find the goose I made in polyclay now.

It has been a lovely day again, though I don’t seem to be finding any time to get out and enjoy this fine weather.

We all seem to be going through a spell of bad nights. I don’t usually have problems getting to sleep but nearly always wake up after an hour or so and I don’t know why. I’m not worrying about anything and have nothing particular on my mind. After lying there for a couple of hours waiting for sleep to come I usually get my book out and read for an hour. I have lots of sympathy for you if you are finding sleep a bit elusive at the moment.

Send a photo of your cockerel when it’s finished please Mel. I now have a lovely vision of more feathers stuck to you than to the cockerel.

Oh, that’s annoying to have your appointment cancelled Mandy. I hope the doctor can see you tomorrow and can give you some help. You don’t want to go on having funny turns like you have had recently.

That sounds a nice trip to the garden centre AnnG and you got a few bits and pieces at a discount which is always good.

That sounds an interesting retail place you went to Annx but a shame they didn’t have the shoes in your size. I hope your car problem turns out to be something quite minor. What a performance you had trying to get the touch-up paint. I’m sure it’s not really necessary to make customers jump through quite so many hoops. I get annoyed when companies insist on sending a code to your phone which you have to enter online. I invariably forget to have my phone beside me at the computer and then I’m flying round the house trying to find it quickly as the code usually expires in a few minutes. I suppose it’s good to have all this security but sometimes it does seem a bit over the top.

It is irritating not to have the TV. It doesn’t worry me too much as I watch very little TV anyway but OH likes to watch some breakfast news and he likes it on in the evening. We don’t have TVs in the bedrooms though we do have one in the conservatory. The problem is it’s invariably too hot or too cold in there. The last couple of days have been very warm in there in the middle of the day so we’ve watched the lunchtime news in there while having our snack. We’ve had trouble finding a suitable TV repair man, most companies just want to deal with aerials but I came across someone fairly local to us and OH has found a phone number for him and will ring him in the morning.

I am feeling better today but tired and drawn. This afternoon it was the AGM at the Ladies Group I go to but I’m afraid I sent my apologies. I couldn’t face sitting in a noisy, hot room today. I did a bit of h/w and washed several bath mats. I should have hung them out but I just couldn’t summon the energy to get the rotary line out of the garage and stand pegging it all out so I’m afraid it went in the dryer. I had a delivery from Sainsbury’s this morning. There was just one sub, a Hovis wholemeal loaf instead of Warburton’s. I kept it as it’s OK but I much prefer Warburton’s. I think Mel feels the same. I think I have a day at home tomorrow but I’ve got to have a clean around downstairs and make a trifle. A friend whose birthday is just a few days before mine usually share our birthday lunch with the girls. It was arranged this year for 18th Feb but she got a chest infection and OH had just come out of hospital so we had to cancel it. It’s been rearranged for this Thursday so I said if she sorted and booked our lunch table I would have everyone back here afterwards for dessert/cake as I have more room than her. She tells me that there will be 8 of us so I thought I’d just do a big trifle as most people like that and cheese and biscuits for those who prefer savoury to sweet. I haven’t got time to make a load of cakes so I’ve bought a tray of fancy cup cakes and a plainer sponge cake and I also have some sugar free wafers as one of our group is diabetic.

A new bus pass arrived in the post today that’s valid for the next 5 years and the council are still using the same photo that was taken when I was 65. I think I am a lot more scraggy now. In the same post was notification of my state pension for the coming year with the extra 25p for being old. I think they should either increase the amount or scrap it altogether. I suppose if I save my 25p a week for 2 or 3 months I could treat myself to a cup of coffee.

I’ve rambled on as usual so it’s about time I stopped. Let’s hope we all sleep well tonight and wake up full of beans.

A lovely sunny day here today and I saw a honey bee today warming up in the sun on a window.

I hope your tum is a bit better today Vera and it's good your car is home again now. What a nuisance the TV's gone wrong though. I hope that is your quota of bad luck now and that the TV can easily be sorted.

I decided to book my car in at the usual local garage today and they can't look at it till the 18th March!! It's not been starting as crisply as usual the last few times and this morning it coughed and chugged a bit to start with despite it being quite warm this morning. Once running it is fine and starts up ok the rest of the day. The garage think it probably doesn't have glow plugs but have a few ideas. They looked the car up on their computer and he said 'your car is 11 years old!! There's no record of us ever fitting a new battery' so I told him no-one else had either, so that's one possibility. I've booked it in and said I'd let him know if it wouldn't start at all and had to sort something else out. I'd been on a 40 odd mile trip today so will see if it starts easy tomorrow. The retail place I went to sells antiques and things from bygone days on the top floor, clothes,shoes and cards on the ground floor and the basement has a book area that opened last friday. I saw some paver shoes I liked but they didn't have my size and I didn't venture down the steep stairs as there was no lift.

This afternoon I tried to get some touch up paint for our front door from Anglian. It doesn't need any touching up anywhere just now, but you can bet your bottom dollar if we scraped it in future they would have stopped stocking the colour! What a palaver! They have to put you on hold while they contact regional office, then they tell you regional office will email you a quote and give you a number to phone to order and pay for it if you still want it! This took about half an hour and there was me waving my credit card expecting it to take 5 minutes to order. I then tried to register with an online site to buy something else and they emailed me a code to use to register. I went to my emails and it said the service was down, so I had to abort doing that for the time being!

It seems a few of us aren't sleeping well and I was much the same again last night. I wonder if the lighter mornings aren't helping me. I find I just can't get back to sleep again and wake up hot as well.

Mandy how disappointing to have your appointment cancelled and after they made it for you as well. I wonder if the doctor was unwell. I do hope you get seen tomorrow. Yes the roads are still a bit muddy and I noticed today a few trees had come down and been sawn off and removed.

I hope you don't get any cancellations AnnG. I've forgotten now, but did you get the hospital that's handiest for you? It was a good day to go to the local garden centre and you came back with a few things including plants to start you off in the garden and saved some money too.

Mel it sounds like your miniatures are walking and hiding! It's good you found the Cockerel though and it will be interesting to see one with real feathers!

What did you have that was good over your cups of tea? Should it have been catch.

Been fighting with this cockerel all afternoon getting stuck to it and the feathers not giong where I want them and all the bit blowing everywhere on my breath. I hope it worth it and I get a good price for it. Iv'e made it a cage.

Had a nice visit to the local garden centre. It was double discount day for members and a free drink. So we had a cup of tea and then bought two of the small compost bags, a thyme and a Heuchera, some gardening gloves a triple pack and a couple of little ornaments. Saved £7.99 so that was good and had a good czrpt h up over our cups of tea.

Iv'e just found the cockrel on the table behid my paintbrush pot.

Cloudy here now too and I have just turned the heating on as I was feeling very cold. I often do after iv'e eaten.

I made something in polyclay last week r so and do you think I can find it. It had to be painted but for the life of me I just don't know where I would have put it. I also know it needed its foot stuck on before I painted it.

Another thingI thought I woukld do today was to stick feathers on a plastic cockrel to put in a cage. got all the white feathers out and now I can't find the cockrel. Its been knocking about on the table for a couple of weeks and now it gone.

Vera and hubby nust feel nice now they have the car back they won't feel so isolated knowing they can pop out now whenever they want. I'm glad your oh is pleased with it Vera even if it did cost an arm and a leg it must have been cheaper then a fresh car.

Yes it does Mel ,I hope she's Iin tomorrow, we nipped out to get a television book and bannas and broccoli and the sun was lovely ,now the suns gone and it's clouded over .

Vera hope you've got your TV going again and pleased to see you have the car back .

Ann thats good the water from the floods has gone off the roads but I expect its left them very muddy ,nice to see a butterfly in the garden its the warmer weather woken it up .

Shopping been and no subs. All put away now and I think I'll have a hoover and maybe do some miniatures. Also need to fill the bird feeders up.

They just rang and said the doctors not in today and they are not sure if she will be in tomorrow but have booked me in for tomorrow at the same time and will ring tomorrow if its any different .

Morning all,

Bright sunny morning again ,yesterday was a lovely sunny day I stripped the bed but didn't have the energy to hang them out so they went on the airer.

Sorry to hear you ladies are having bad night's, I sleep for a couple of hours then wake but I mostly get off again ,doctors this afternoon so will see how that goes .

Good morning all. Another night when, like Mel, I didn't sleep well. I hope I have not settled into that for more nights. I eventually got up just after 7. I suppose I had about 4 hours sleep altogether. Like ann I seem to go straight off to sleep then wake around 1-2am. Lots of dreams again but not really anything worrying on my mind. Well, on the 'count dow' for 3 weeks until my ops for the BCCs on 25th March but wasn't actually thinking about that last night.

sudddenly thought this morning that it seemed a while since my last chiropodist appointment. when I checked, I had not written it on my calendar and it is Thursday. and here I thought I had a free week.

vera it is so annoying when things like the TV stop working isn't it? It sits there in the corner of the room, reliable that it will go when we press a button. Easy to forget they can go wrong and inconvenient when they do. I hope it is easily fixed.

Did'nt have a good night and hope yours was better. Got up for the loo and could'nt go back to sleep and then I got hot nd I even turned over to see if I could drop off that way. I could hear the dawn chorus and that did'nt help. Anyway I was thirsty so I got up.
