Mel, yes we started with a fortnightly order when we first booked our recurring slot. We can still book one off extra slots if we needed one. The easiest way for you to try it out would be to go online when you want to miss a next order and you will see a box with 'skip a slot' above the order and you can just click on that each time you want to miss a delivery till you are sure fortnightly works ok for you.

I would have enjoyed the talk about the meteorite AnnG. I went to an exhibition of the Barwell Meteorite not far from here a few years ago and enjoyed that. It does make a difference when you get good speakers too. The garden visit sounded good, but a shame you didn't stop for lunch. I had to go a different route I knew past where I lived when I was first married to go to the garden centre I went to this morning. They are building a really massive estate in what was a lovely field with great views on the corner of the tiny island you turn left at to get to the garden centre It has 3 way traffic lights that are causing horrendous traffic jams at busy times and have been causing OH to go miles out of his way to get to some of his schools in time. It's due to carry on like this for months too.I was pleased to get the baskets I wanted. I see the other papers are saying what you said about the ages of the students meant they haven't had vaccinations for this strain of meningitis.

Mandy that must have been a relief that the ECG was all normal and it's good your head is a lot better. Just take it easy for now and rest when you need too. I have a feeling I got some courgette seeds a while ago and must check. I want to do them in pots outside this year.

I hope Vera's back isn't still causing problems, but expect she is busy giving support to her neighbours who have the poorly granddaughter. I hope she's ok.

Mandy, if you sow tomatoes too early they will be leggy, the next couple of weeks will be soon enough.

Still 16 here. Just come in with my sown tomato seeds to put in the uti room. Its really hot out in the shed today.

Hungry now so something to eat I think. I have forgotten to take my bread out of the freezer so it could be crumpets for lunch and a cuppa soup.

MillymollyAmanda Report 18 Mar 2026 13:14

Oh thats good Gwyn ,hope you've managed to get out and meet up with your friends .

Mel what seeds have you sown? I keep wondering if I should sow my tomatoes and cucumbers ,I can't remember when I did them last year .
Mel you said about putting Lime on the garden to help the runner beans , do we put it on now so it soaks in before we plant the bean plants or after we've planted .

Home now as, sadly, my friend who took me didn't want to stop for lunch. We got to the garden ok, traffic was heavy with lorries obviously following their satnavs as they would usually all be on the M5. It was clear when we ame home though and we were not help up at all. One of the things about the visits we do this time of year is that there are not many flowers so we can see the bones of the garden. It is a huge Arts and crafts garden with a lovely old Arts and crafts house, wonderful view they must have from their windows. We enjoyed it, there were a lot of levels and steps so I was glad of my stick. Might have a couple of photos to send later.

It is 17 degrees here, had a coffee in my garden when I got in and it is really hot out there.

Mandy good that the ECG was fine so one less thing to worry about. Just continue to take it easy.

Its 15 here now I wonder if it will get any higher and we have a high pollen count?

Good results on your ECG then Mandy thats another worry off your mind. Yes little and then rest thats the best way to do things. <3

Morning all,

11 degrees here and we should get to 15 later ,suns shining and there's blue sky, i have washing to get on the line so nice to hang out and get them all dry .

Oh Gwyn that goodness someone has your bag ,your heart must have skipped a beat when you realised you didn't have it , hope it's returned so you can have your trip out later .

Ann ,enjoy your poached egg and hope you can get the baskets you want , good idea to save petrol, I don't think we've had any queuing for petrol yet but it might come to that again.

Mel hope you can get your puffs from your inhaler ok ,probably takes a while to get use to doing it .

Anng hope you can find another way ok to do the garden visit as you say the traffic all has to go another way too if the motorway is shut ,was there an accident or shut for roadworks.

Had my ECG yesterday and after I had it I had to wait in the waiting room while the doctor checked it ,the nurse came out and said all was fine so that was good , my head is a lot better and the tiredness is easing but I just do a little then rest .

Hope Vera's back is feeling better .

Morning All,

A sunny morning with higher degrees forecast for today. OH has gone to a council business breakfast at a Marriot Hotel about a mile or two away and I am shortly going to a garden centre about 4 miles away where they do nice poached eggs on toast and to have a look around and get some plastic baskets. I did think about going to the big retail park about 45 miles away but thought I'd save my fuel today.

Gwyn I bet you panicked about your bag for a moment, but at least you know it is safe. We all have these 'moments' where our minds are on something else.

I'd better get going if I want a good parking space so will catch up with yesterday's posts when I get back.

I hope you manage to get to the garden AnnG.

Yes, I was concerned not to keep the lady waiting, who was giving me a lift, so I scooped up my laptop off the table, put it in my bag and merrily went on my way.
Probably because I was then carrying something, I didn't notice the missing bag!

Morning girls,

A bright sunny one here this morning too and its 9 degrees and pc is saying a record high.

Hope there's not too much trafic when yo9u go out Anng and enjoy the visit.

O Gwyn we all do these silly things sometimes but you were lucky someone was looking after it for you. Hope it arrives in time for you to go to town.

Just going to read the instructions on the inhailer again before attempting todays puffs.

Oh dear Gwyn a senior moment. I bet you were talking as you left the meeting.

Good morning all. a lovely sunny one here and 7 degrees. Hoping to go to a garden visit this morning. I say hoping as the motorway is shut, I am pretty sure we don't go that way but it means all the other roads will be congested.

Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 18 Mar 2026 07:39

Don't know where my brain was yesterday evening.
I left my handbag at the meeting :-0
A few phone calls told me who was looking after it overnight, so I now have to wait for it to be returned to me this morning, when they are are coming this way anyway....

A lovely bright, dry, sunny morning here and a bit warmer, so if my bag, - with bus pass- is back in time, I might go into town and meet friends.

Yes Gwyn it landed on their drive, just a black patch and small pieces of what looked like coal. Luckily he thought to put a question about it on the internet and very quickly had contact from a scientist at the OU. Meteorites had been predicted in the area.

I think I remember hearing about that event AnnG.
Didn't it land on someone's drive?
I would have found that talk interesting too.

Lovely sunny day today without the wild wind.
Grandson picked me up from school in his car and we went to have lunch together.
He is always great company, so it was lovely :-)

Not much time before I have to go out again for a meeting this evening.
Unusually, I have had 3 coffees today, so I hope they help me stay awake if it goes on a bit ;-)

AnninGlos Report 17 Mar 2026 16:13

The talk was very interesting. And extremely well presented by a husband and wife, both speaking alternatively and with photos on screen. the title wa The Winchcombe Meteorite. It was really interesting and happened during lockdown in 2021. (google Winchcombe Meteorite 2021)

Morning Anng and all,

Nice bright morning but cold it says its 10 degrees and mostly sunny so we will see how the day pans out.

Shopping comes today and as far as I know there are no subs. I will check with the driver though as I have been caught out like that before.

I want to ask Annx, Did I see you say you have a delivery pass with Asda and have a fortnightly delivery? because I think that may suit me better.
