I think what Vera and I mean Mandy is that there is probably more than one make of iron tablet. Maybe a different ‘make’ would not upset your tummy. It is the extra contents in the tablets that can cause problems. I have also heard of people having injections if they can’t tolerate tablets.

Pleased OH’s neck and shoulder is improving Vera. Sounds like you need another day taking it easy. Maybe you tweak your back in your sleep which wakes you up. I had a better night but still not a really good one.

I don't think there's anything else I can take instead of the iron tablets so I'll just have to see how it goes and if I keep getting tummy trouble I will have to go back, but I have to wait for the stool test result as she wondered if I was losing blood .
We should drink 2 litres of fluid a day and I really thought we were with all the drink we have but tummy trouble means you have to have a lot extra drink as your losing a lot of fluid .

Oh dear Mandy, that doesn't sound good at all. It does sound as though some of your problems could be from the side effects of the iron. I'm sure you have looked into it but, if not, the NHS site has quite a lot of info about the side effects, how long before and after food you should take the pills and what foods you should and shouldn't eat with them. Do let your doctor know how poorly you are feeling as he may be able to change the pills or make things easier for you. I hope you feel better very soon.

You've done lots of h/w today AnnG. You are putting me to shame. I've done washing and a bit of general tidying but not much else. OH's neck and shoulders are quite a bit better today and my back is beginning to recover again though I am still being a bit careful how I move. I don't think I slept very well as every time I moved in the night I woke myself up so I feel very tired today and keep yawning away. I can understand that thinking about your op and your holiday with daughter doesn't help you get a good night's sleep AnnG. I do sympathise with you about missing your daughter. Of course I do still have OH and I'm grateful for that but I miss my kids and grandkids too as I see very little of them.

Your OH must eat and drink when he's not at home for meals Annx. There was something in the paper today about older men not drinking enough because they are worried about the lack of public toilets. Mine drinks gallons of water at home but never thinks to take a bottle out with him. It's good that OH was able to have a word with that fellow using your drive all the time. Fingers crossed that he now uses the road to turn round.

I hope your new card comes quickly Mel. In the meantime do you have another card you can use for Asda or was that your only card? It must be annoying that every time bil comes another bit of the mower gets broken. On the other hand, if he didn't come you would be stuck trying to cope with all that grass on your own which would be very difficult.

I see time is getting on again and I have a couple of phone calls to make so better get those done next. I hope everyone sleeps well tonight.

Cleaned the kitchen sink unit. and the cloakroom. I was going to clean the three piece suite which is leather. I did one chair and ran out of enetgy. a long time since they had a proper clean so hopefully I can get that done tomorrow. It is cream leather so can get a bit dirty.

You got a nce lot done this morning Anng. I repotted a lot of my strawberry plants and the bonfire is still smoking away from yesterday. I was going to have a go at the side of the driveway but got sidetracked with the strawberry plants. I had only cleaned a few up a few weeks ago but some are showing flowers now so I have most of them done now and put gravel on the pots so I know which I have done. Some needed bigger pots others just needed a pot!! as they had rooted in the soak tray and were still attached to the parent plant. :-0

O gosh just read the posts and that dos'nt sound good Mandy you MUST get back in touch with the doctor . You always think the doc knows best but they can make mistakes too they are only human but I think its gone on long enough now and you want to feel better not worse. Do please get on to the doctor.

Had a good natter with Em and she told me her MIL died on Friday. Its been expected so no great shock as she's been ill for about 5 years now since a fall tripping over the oven door.

I rang the over 60's bank number and got my card stopped and now Asda keep pestering me and the new card has'nt arrived yet.

It has been drizzly rain all morning so I have resorted to H/W. I vacuumed all upstairs with the big cleaner then dusted the bedrooms. Downstairs I did the floors with the cordless vac. So lounge dining room, kitchen hall and conservatory. Then I did a proper clean, dust and polish which has taken me an hour with actually removing everything off the surfaces dusting and polish, wipe ornaments and replace. haven't done that for months so it is all nice and clean now. Going to have lunch, empty the tumble dryer - I did a coloured wash- and clean the kitchen sink.

Oh dear Mandy. I am sure that you have googled but it does seem like a side effect of the iron tablets. Have you spoken to your GP who prescribed the tablets? I know you had a certain number of weeks before going back but maybe the tablets need changing or something. It seems they are making you worse rather than better. Hope that you can get the problem sorted.

Morning all,
Overcast here this morning .
Son rang 111 again last night as I had been bad again and they sent the ambulance, they checked me over and said I need a lot more fluid as I had the tummy trouble .
With being so anaemic and and empty tummy I got bad again ,son took my sample in this morning but I've been really loose again ,I think its the iron tablets.

Sorry you got caught in that old scam Mel. It can easily happen. I’ve had one supposedly from Evri and one from Royal Mail recently. I was expecting one parcel at the time but not the other one. I was going to say the same as Annx. Check the email address it has come from. Usually they are, as Annx says, gobbledygook but sometimes they look genuine. If it does look real check it against any addresses given on the website of the supposed sender. Often there is something a bit wrong, perhaps an extra letter in the address or something like that. I must admit I never click on a link unless I am 100% certain where it has come from but these scammers are so clever that any of us could get caught out.

Phone’s ringing. BBL

Annx Report 22 Apr 2024 10:23

Morning All,

Wet and dull here, but the rain's stopped so I am going out before it starts again.

Yes there's a resurgence of that old scam Mel. I was expecting two parcels last week and had one for Evri. The scammers seem to know when you are expecting a parcel. It's quite convincing, but just look at the email address and if it's a gobbledegook one just forward the email to [email protected] and delete it. They take down these scam sites. I get as many as half a dozen scam emails some days, as I was told my data was one that was hacked when my internet provider's data was breached.

Hubby is on a zoom meeting so I will pop out and fill my car and pop to the shop and garden centre I think. He didn't have a good night again, keeps getting side head pain, but the doc suggested it was his osteoporosis some time ago. OH thinks it might be a kind of migraine that's different now, but I keep saying if it keeps happening he should see the GP again.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 22 Apr 2024 08:21

Ah that is quite a common scam, has been going a while. I suppose it was worrying as you were actually expecting a parcel.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 22 Apr 2024 08:16

It was a scam from Evri saying they could'nt deliver a parcel so I had to pay so much plus vat. I am expecting a parcel. Rang Evri and they said they had'nt got that tracking nuber . So watch out as I rang the bank next and they ahve cancelled my card.

Was just outside the back door having a ciggy and Robbie had been and then I saw a Goldcrest looking around the wood on the leanto and then another one came so I threw some worms down but it went on the outside light and pulled some cobweb off it and they both flew away. I thought it was Jenny at first. The birds are singing thier heads off this morning and it sunny and 5 degrees at the moment.

Good morning Mel and all. Like me Mel, up early.
Hopefully the Heron can't get to the fish, he/she probably pays an early morning visit every day when you are not up.

Oh dear, what scam was that, is it your bank card? Hope you don't have to wait too long for a replacement.

It is dry so far although rain was forecast overnight and later. It is 5 degrees. Quite a shock too on the forecast yesterday to expect frosts. That will take people putting out plants early by surprise. I will keep a look out at the forecasts although I don't think I have anything that needs protecting.

Had a message from Asda saying they have trouble with my card at 7am this morning.

Iv'e had to cancel it because of a scam yesterday but the lady I spoke to said it would be alright.

Yes Ann, waiting for notification of the op needing to hear but not wanting to really. Then when I do hear organising getting there, getting home. How long before stitches can come out, will it interfere with my holiday at daughters which I am so looking forward to, it seems so long since I saw them, miss her a lot. Yes no wonder I can’t get a good nights sleep
