Morning All,

Well Jane I think we had your rain last night and we have it again today!!!! I am quite annoyed as I wanted to pick more soft fruit today.

Sheila, a Tayberry is like a Loganberrry but the plants have fearfull prickles and the Loganberry dos'nt have any so much better to pick. My Loganberry is now overgrown with Brimbles (brambles) as we did'nt do the veg garden for two years with us both having heart trouble.

I did ask for both Sheila's and Elizabeth's email addies and have now received Sheila's ok.

Do you remember me telling you at the garden center I saw a lovely big fairy statue, very expensive. OH had commented on it and I said I had seen it but it was about nearly £400. He told me it was'nt that dear................................. Went back and had another look last time I was there and the price was'nt £400 but £220. Came home and had been thinking about it ever since.

My 2 year bond is ready for renewel and I had'nt taken out my interest for a couple of years and it had grown quite large!! It was money I got after a burglary of things that were my nans. SO I have decided to buy her for myself as she will look wonderfull by the new pond!!!!! Have had her put aside as she is the only one there. Picking her up tomorrow as I have to go to Holsworthy for mum and the library for mum and that is half way there.

Sheila Report 20 Jul 2010 14:17

I see you had a dolls house.I made myself one out of carboard boxes because they were not around in my day
I made windows out of cellophane paper wrappers from
chocolates found a weeny little china teaset in a shop
and made a table out of match sticks clued together with
paper mashee layers of newpaper soaked and dried out
only thing was I cut up my mums blouse for curtains she had what she called a rag bag and dropped her best blouse in it by mistake I always remembered doing that and with my first wage packet of £3 bought her another blouse .Up late last night but up bright and early this morning at 6pm .Needed matchsticks for my eyes at first.

My brother and I took his old Austin car back to the showroom outside Bham we encountered a farmer
moving his cows all black and white out of the field
to his farm for milking he had put rope across the road
and my brother was not amused because these cows were
125 in total I think Neil was getting worried in case one decided to batter his precious Austin eight car and he was worried it might not start up again. Anyway the farmer
shouted sorry and took down the rope barrier and Neil
went to go and out of the field came this little jersey cow
he walked up to the car and I got out quicky in case
he hit the car and he came up to me and licked me
he had big bright eyes and a huge nose holes with a
daisy stuck in one so cute. Living in the city I was not
around farm animals a bit nervous of cows but this one
was so cute . I stood stroking it and my brother was
having fits. The farmer came out of the farm and said
Oh you have found Marmalade its my daughters cow
realised one was missing got it for a birthday gift and
I said really wish I had got cows for my birthday
my brother who was looking on fed up said yes but you
would have not got one off me sis too big to wrap .Anyway saw your bit on Sooty and Sweep in my day it was the Flower Pot men oggle boggle guys and Weed a daisy in a flowerpot said one thing and that was Weed .

Muffin the Mule with Annette Mills she was the film actor
John Mills sister. I remember the Magic Roundabout later
but my favourite and I have a nightdress case was
Bagpuss the raggy old cat all pink and striped.

I found a picture of myself yesterday in the box of photoes doing a scrapbbok album .I was aTeddy girl there
was me in a light blue jacket with black coller and my hair
gelled up like a hedgehog with drainpipe trousers and little
flat black shoes we had a joke what do you do if you get
water on the knee wear drainpipe trousers terrible joke
my boyfriend then also a ted was called Logan Berry
and my mum said to him do you have a brother called
Ras he would be Rasberry .I remember he laughed so much and my brother said it wasnt that funny but it was
cracked us up. Well I wont be around for a while going
off to have a cyst removed from the top of my arm
thank goodness it was not a tumour like they first
thought. it was our golden wedding aniversary in June
50 years of wedded bliss in spite of self employed
disasters but not always .my daughter booked us a
lovely week end at a Warners in Wales near snowden
a Glen Miller week end. I love bands and the songs
of the forties. my favourite is Dont sit under the apple tree
with anybody else but me by the Andrew Sisters because
when living in Lincoln we went to see a American band
and jived all night, was younger then of course and had a better figure . Anyway this week end is coming up in two weeks and at the hospital said I could go in early
and have my operation so going tomorrow. Would normally
be my out to lunch day with my life long friend Beryl the Peril which I call her met her aged ten one of twelve kids
and so flamboyant when young full of fun and is the same now. bright coloured spotty clothes something always stuck in her hair huge heels and lots of make up led me a stray a bit . Apologise for the lengthy writing loved yours on
Sooty and Sweep and Harry remember both him and his son. I am running out of memories now and everybody
except Shirl is younger love her she makes me laugh
but have enjoyed all the readings.GOSH sound like I
am going and never coming back hope not.

Sheila Report 20 Jul 2010 14:50

hi you had a busy day yesterday me too got all the leaves up with the mower
and round the borders have a huge lawn but only one flower bed .Hope your mammogram is ok I am having a cyst removed from the top of my arm tomorrow
wont be on again .my golden wedding aniversary June 4th 50years remember
being seventy and said no cards with seventy on please. 1943 would have
been four . Did you like boarding school Elizabeth I once thought I would like
to write a book but my english is terrible my messages are all over the shop
can see a bit better now I have my new reading specs. Why did you go to
boarding school any special reason most kids seem to go because mums and
dads had careers. Did you get home sick. I of course visited the seaside of Devon
hope you got some sun yesterday would you believe the last owners of our
off licence where we live had a nanny goat it chewed the grass and just about
everything else. My husband works until 10pm then he eats his tea and goes to
bed. But do love him he is my soul mate. I got married at 21 but my husband
was in Cyprus for two years signed up at 17 in the RAF security police. I had
a romance writing to him never seing him but he gave me the choice to go out
with other guys. I did a few but felt awful after .Instead of sending pictures of himself
I got airplane hangers on the camp blowing up He was told me a story of having
to squeeze a singer called Yarna toothpaste out at the airport to see if it had a bomb
in it and she got all stroppy. They went to some sunny island on a boat and a film
producer wanted him for a film because he was nice looking and tanned like a greek
god the kids went ha ha dad dont believe that you a film star he said well I never
took the offer up.thank goodness I said. hopefully when I come back in one piece
I hope will look out to see if you are still there. have a lovely week. I am a twee bit
nervous.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 20 Jul 2010 17:56

It's been raining here all day. Jane you are very welcome to it if you want it I will sen dit your way!

Cut OH's hair and he has to go down the church about the quinquiniel ? servay or something. They ahve a commity for it.

Shirl I am not one of those people who can sit around and do nothing I always have to be on the go. Just not enough hours in the day for me to get all I want to do done.

Jane the Archer is my one and underneath her is mums one. The other one I like is the West Wind Fairy who is sitting on a plinth but dos'nt come with it, so you can sit her anywhere...on a ledge or shelf or on the side of the pond. I already have a fairy fountain on the patio outside the kitchen door and another blowing a kiss that OH bought me some years ago. Yes I will never grow up as I love all thing Faerie!!!! Always have always will. I think they are my escape!
