Morning Al
I am early aren't I.I feel bright eyed and bushy tailed after a much better nights sleep.I did wake up a couple of times but managed to get off again.
It looks like it is slightly misty out there this morning and it is still so dark.
Chester came downstairs with me just now and has gone straight back in his own bed lol He is snoring.
I will make another cup of Tea and take it back upstairs and then think about a shower and hairwash.Must dig James out of his pit as he wants to go early for a haircut before setting off to Canterbury.

Morning Jane and Frank,

Frank how did you sleep and how's the pain?

Ususal day here dull and dreay and wet.

Glad you had a better night Jane, I went off about 12am which is early for me. OH got up at some godly hour and woke me. Then he came back to bed and do you think I could sleep, no as he had left the bedroom door open and the light on in the kitchen and his pooter on in the study.

He eventually woke and got up at 9.10am which is very very late for him.

10.11am.

Afternoon all,

Didn't sleep to great, settled down about 1.00am up 6.30. bit of pain and discomfort during the night. Now taking the over pain killers with my usual ones, makes me a bit sleepy. I nodded of on the sofa this morning.

Ros was very pleased with her varios trinkets that I bought for christmas. She wears one most days, so she must be happy with them

Oh thats nice Frank. I am glad she was pleased with her presents.

It is that horrid steady rain here at the mo. At first it was quite warm but then came over very dark and got cold so I turned the heating on and now I don't want to go outside.

Liz I was once going to have a go at lace making but could'nt afford the gear!! I had a cousin who did beautiful tatting and still have a couple of things she made for mum.

Love the expresion 'pickling' around!! Was it something one of the family said?

LilyL

LilyL Report 17 Jan 2011 13:31

Yes Mel, It's been a family saying for years!!! it's quite descriptive really, just doing a bit of this and that all day, but nothing in particular!!! managed to get Merlin in on my own, so that's really good, feeling well pleased with myself! mind you it was TEEMING with rain so I think he was well glad to be under cover!! I don't think I could ever have done any lace making, but I used to be quite a natty knitter! hardly the same I know, but, it kept 'Satan' away according to my Granny?!!!!

Afternoon everyone.

Having mentioned my amazing nights sleep on Saturday I suffered for it last night. The old bones ached all night and I even changed pillows half way through but without success.Up twice and unable to find a resting place. I would love another spine but no chance of that.
Forgot to tell you all that I have had spinal problems for eons. I walked into a chair on Christmas eve and knocked the whole thing sideways. It will take months to settle again. I have tried every treatment known to man, and the medical profession, without result.
Sorry to moan not something I do very often but It hurts today. Am going to cheer myself up by sorting some photographs for my tree.
The weather is warm and sunny and hubby has been tidying the garden.
As the frost has finally gone from the front pond 4 dead frogs have floated to the surface.
Fiona bet you and hubby were at the same matches. I willpass on the info.I used to go to Newcastle games with my dad and have contiued to be loyal ever since

4.11pm.

Sorry I cut off in mid stream this morning.

Ros wanted me to go to Town with her to take her sewing machine, for a service estimate. The foot peddle lets the motor run on. Expect it to be expensive as it's a PHAAF machine and parts are dear.
Anne, Ros is always saying she needs a new back. She has had four operations on hers now, and the latest trouble is, the specialist won't operate, because he's afraid it will paralyise her. Hence the injections. 18th February. Roll on.!!!!

Ros, has loads of old lace items, that her Grandmother made. They are all wrapped up in the cupboard.

Been wet and windy here most of the day. Heating on and lights.

Baked potatoes round the rest of the beef, with nice thick onion gravy and Veg. Be ready about 6pm.

Well I know said I wouldn't do it again ,but I am having another go at Brisket in the Slow Cooker, but this time with lots of root veg ,thyme, garlic, beef stock. It should have some potatoes ,but there isn't enough room.I may not decide to have it tonight ,as the recipe said it is even better on the second day.I didn't get it on until 12.30 either.

Ann,you must have your spine a real jolt when you walked into that chair.I hope it eases up for you soon.If you can't do much yourself you can stand over your OH and hand out the orders lol

Poor little bird Liz.It'll be cold without its feathers. If it is going to die I hope it goes quickly. You can never tell with birds can you.

This morning I saw quite a thing .I looked out of my bedroom window and could see something weird in a Conifer at the bottom of the garden. It was a Heron, with it's neck and head sticking up lol.I took a pic but it is not good.I will send it and even though it is not clear I think you will understand what I mean about 'something weird'.It looked hilarious !!!

No rain here today. In fact it still seems fairly light for this time of the day.

Hi everyone just been reading the threads Maureen sent me such a funny joke I had to reply is she on the threads again if so hi Maureen I needed a laugh that really amused me.
Well what a life my daughter went to Tunisia to see SIL who had gone earlier because he was told of the trouble out there was pending by a student friend in Tunisia and he was badly injured in the riots this friend.

Michelle knew nothing of the trouble and decided to go out and stay with SIL sister Nadine but when she arrived nobody knew where MOS was he had gone to see this friend who was a teacher in Tunis Uni but lost his job last year due to government cuts heading for Tunis right into the trouble SIL

Michelle found SIL and he told her to get the next plane back but she was
too late the riots started the next day. The Manager of the hotel wanted everyone to leave get out now he said but the airport was not operating and so she had to stay. She said it was awful they were sat in the seating area and four men came in with faces covered and said revolution do not leave the hotel they were carrying anything they could find that was dangerous. lucky that Tunisia does not have guns

Later on all the residents were at the reception wanting to leave but the tour companies were saying it is not dangerous. However when men ran in breaking glass doors and throwing fire bombs everyone wanted out and
now the companies were taking people home My daughter got a plane back after waiting 13 hours at the airport. SIL arrived home yesterday.

MO is pleased the presidents gone but he said riots and police are ruining my country my daughter is not speaking to him she said if you knew this was going to happen why did you not telll me. I wasted my time and money and could have been injured or killed. SIL said I go to protect my family I said is my daughter not family then if you do that again you can go I was furious with him . His family live in Karawen not Tunisia we think he went to join in. After 23 years of abuse he calls it.

Now all is calm in the household but my blood pressures gone up.

I am not bothering to see Joanie in panto backstage to much hassle
i have been twice to get papers for four of us to go backstage and today I got a letter saying she could be replaced by her understudy be prepared
i phoned the office and said can I still see this panto and they said yes so I said forget Joan I will have the free lunch and enjoy the panto they said ok then. so much for winning things in our local paper.I complained and was told its just a caution your still welcome to come backstage I said I will watch her in the panto Ive had enough.Well said a very nice man we will serve your champers at lunch.

Rashers had to go to a piggy hospital he had a lot of fringing and now
is enjoying his fringe benefits but the poor pig was poorly and had to have an operation. Jess is selling the house and moving the animals will be sold it had to happen the poor souls were not looked after properly my ho was very concerned and told Jess be sensible for once
Aprils not happy but grandad promised her a puppy of her choice. I am afraid that included the horse. Uncle Bryns got heart trouble and Ryan is lovesick he wants to marry Jess and she is not interested so friction there
also

Beryls married Donnie in SCOTLAND at Greta Green and they are honey mooning in Edinburgh .Me I knew nothing that was blow 2.
I hope everyone is ok including Shirl and family.
I only briefly read the threads was having a problem
keeping it on aol the same.

Apologies Karawen is in Tunisia not Tunis I meant .I have just this minute
had a phone call from Beryl and she is very happy she said I gave her my
blessings she will proberly need them later.

Sheila, what a worry that must have been for you .Thank goodness they re both safely home now.I'm not surprised that you were angry.
As for Beryl and Donnie, what can I say lol.Watch this space maybe !!!!

It is a shame that the animals will have to be given up,but it seems the most sensible thing to do especially if they cannot be looked after properly. They are a huge responsibility aren't they.

I said just now it was still quite light.ell it has suddenly become pitch black.Just like that lol

Just unpacked all the shopping and caught up on your postings.

Sheila what a worry with your daughter over there in the troubled area. I am so pleased they are both back home now and you know they are safe once again.

As for Beryl the Peril.......................well she has married him after all!!! We await the next tale from that quarter.

Anne I hope you get a better night tonight. I lived with back trouble for years when I was young. You just don't know which way to lay or how to get back up when your back is bad.

It's been another filthy day here raining on and off all day.

Fiona sounds as though you did very well with the coffee day.

I have brought in a couple of lamb shanks for dinner tonight so that won't be too bad to cook with some nice mash and spring greens. Makes a quick meal for when I havae been shopping (Donkey Day).

Your life sounds horrendously complicated. Hope it sorts itself soon.

Frank
I was paralised for several months many years ago so can understand the reluctance to touch Ros' back. Thats why docs will not touch mine. I was told that things would get worse as I got older and so it is.Life could be much worse though and I can still climb the stairs.
Must go now as we are preparing to go out to our Monday meeting.
Have reread message and I sound like an old crockj. Honestly Im not just having a bad day......roll on tomorrow
