Just read my e.mails, lovely photos Ann, I think the alpine looks out of place this time of year because of its colour. You have had a lot of rain, those fields look waterlogged.

Evening all
Another busy day , got a phone call yesterday evening form my doctors surgery, the blood test I had taken last Thursday came back saying I had HELICOBACTER PYLORI infection, that was the reason why I was having a lot of acid reflux and why I asked the doctor if I could take 2 pills instead of one.
so had to go and get a perscription this morning , so I now am taking 3 lots of pills for this, one to line my stomch and 2 antibiotics to clear up the infection.

I then had a phone call from a friend to say all Christmas shoeboxes had to be in by this Sunday so I have been shopping picking up bits and pieces to put in a box.

Thank you Ann, Shirl for the nice comments about me looking younger, probably because I have lost a bit of weight due to back exercising, mind
you after that walk I didn't feel young I felt quite old and tired LOL
It does surprise people when they talk about age and they find out I am 50 plus, one lady thought I was only 45 while I was shopping the other day, she asked me if I thought the dress we were looking at was to young for her , I said no actually I have the same one in a different coulour, Ah yes but your only young she says , when I told her my age she was really surprised, I take after my dad, he always looked younger than what he really is

Maureen , a loch is the Scottish term for a lake,

David, Pink Gloves, I have a few different pink Gloves, it's one of my favourite colours, , I like pink in all shades. I have pink Jumpers, blouses, T shirts, I like all pastel colours

Ann , thanks for your pics, goodness there's alot of water there, and I thought we have had a lot of rain.

Annx Report 9 Nov 2010 17:49

Fiona, you should feel so much better when that bug is cleared up and I would think may not need the acid reflux tablets then. Good to have discovered that that was causing the trouble.

Maureen, it made a change then for Alfie to be getting HIS ears boxed!! lol Lets hope he hasn't learned any new pranks while he has been away. Look out Coco!! He seems happy enough, even if he isn't quite right.

Mandy he isn't quite sure what they will do or even if he will have to be put out to do it. I think it may be just that they will have better tools for the job than the dentist and perhaps a stitch.

No tv on our lounge tele till Thursday........no signal....took ages to arrange for S*y to come, got cut off on the phone once and had to start all over again. My car is booked in for the heated rear window to be repaired........just a month out of warranty too..........why didn't I try it a month ago!!!! lol More expense. I might have left it but with no rear screen wiper it is rather necessary.

Shirl, you'll be able to shower together!!!! lol

Jane

Jane Report 9 Nov 2010 18:19

Fiona at least you know the reason for your reflux. The pills will probably work fairly quickly now.
Good Luck tomorrow for your OH Ann.I'm glad it's not me !! I hope they get you sorted on Thursday.I would be lost lol.

Maureen I did hear some wailing in the early hours.I did think it could have been you lolol.Glad you had a good time with your family.I bet Alfie is glad to have you back and have you nurse his boxed ears !

My logs haven't arrived!!!!!!!.I know the chap said he was run off his feet but I thought he might have given me a call.Oh Well, they come sometime.

It is Hannah's last day at work tomorrow. She is looking forward to finishing now and setting out on her new venture.I think the patients are going to miss her.It will be difficult for them to get used to someone new.

Frank Report 9 Nov 2010 18:57

Went out 11.45am. Hospital with Ros, there for 1 1/2 hours.Morriso#s, did shopping then about 2.45 So I said lets have a late lunch. Save me cooking tonight. Ordered, Liver and Onions and Roast beef. (SOLD OUT) Sod it. Went to all day Pub 2 for £10.00 Closed for refurmishment till 11/11. Then went on to the Garden centre, had dinner there.

Maureen, It just shows how easy it is to spend all that money on Fireworks. I know No.2 son used too, I told him it wasn't needed as only him and his partner, Ros and I. He hasn't done it now for about 3 years. Pleased that Alfie is still showing signs of improvement., give him a cuddle from me !!!!

Mel, the way you are going you will have enough space to take in lodgers. How many can you get in ????

Cold and raining now. Didn't know there was all this flooding around.

Yes Jane, FABLON. If you got a bubble under it you had to stick a pin in it to smooth the surface down. !!! Trust you to upset poor old Mandy, about her tooth. I can feel it myself now.

Jane

Jane Report 9 Nov 2010 19:15

What Garden Centre did you go to for lunch Frank?
MOI !!! upset Mandy? No I wouldn't do that Frank. You might have upset though by calling her OLD Mandy lol.....I have the Dentist next week!!!!

Yes Fablon.I think Mum thought that was dead posh then.Did it have a peel off backing?

Annx

Annx Report 9 Nov 2010 19:54

I seem to remember dad getting het up when there was Fablon to put on. lol I remember doing some cupboard shelves with it years ago. It had squared paper on the back to help you cut it straight. If you weren't careful and stretched it there would be wrinkles you couldn't get out.......a bit like bits of me!! lol Like Frank says, always seemed to be bubbles to pop with a pin. I think I actually used some when we moved here to put on the back door to the garage so you couldn't see through. Like frosted glass.......it is still there. lol

Sheila

Sheila Report 9 Nov 2010 20:03

Hi so windy here and wet and dark not a cheerful day at all.

I did my weekly good deed and visited with an old lady who was 103 and needed some company .I made her a cup of tea and did her a jam butty sandwich which she asked for and she in turn told me stories about her war years in London when her house was the only one standing in her road but was so badly damaged they had to knock it down.I heard many lovely renderings of her childhood also.

I returned to find that two large knitted shawls to wrap round myself from a lady who comes in our shop had been eaten by Jasper who then proceeded to unravel it all round the living room into the dining room .There was wool everywhere round chairs the coffee table arm chairs everything and Jasper also managed to tie himself up
he was lying on the floor growling with annoyance because he had tied his legs together and could not move.

It took me ages to get the wool off everything all that hand knitting that lady had done. My ho thought it funny .However
he did not laugh when a lady came in the shop and asked him if he sold corn plasters it was my turn to laugh. I could hear him saying this is an off licence not a blo//dy chemist

Ann I hate the Nec car parks so know what you mean.
Maureen Lipman your look alike is on Loose women tomorrow. You do look like her when young.

Fiona thank you for your pictures discovered them today
they were very nice. You do look very nice also .I hope your tests will be ok.

I moved my bed last night and found a bra ,cough sweets
toothpaste my old glasses and asprin and tissues.

I will go now and do tea fish stick salad I just fancied that.

Poor old Jack Duckworth in Coronation Street popped his clogs bless him .
Have a nice evening all xx

Jane

Jane Report 9 Nov 2010 20:43

I see Mel has got us all looking under and behind our beds lol.Sheila how did toothpaste end up under yours??I can understand everything else, but not toothpaste ! You should have taken a photo of Jasper all wrapped in the wool lolol.Naughty Boy.
As for Fish Stick Salad.........What on earth is fish stick?Fish Fingers?Or Crab Sticks?.I don't think I fancy that.
I will have to look at the Omnibus Corrie to see the last of Jack.I am not a huge fan of Corrie but do watch it when there is a good story line.

Back in the days I would watch Crossroads and Corrie with Mum.
Dad loved a programme with I think Angie
Dickinson (or something like that)
She was a police woman in New York or somewhere in the USA.
I will have to try and google that to see what it was.

Jane

Jane Report 9 Nov 2010 20:50

The programme was' Policewoman 'lol.Dad thought she was a good looker.!

Frank

Frank Report 9 Nov 2010 21:00

Jane we went to Wyevale. It's on the Newport Pagnell Road. Wonderful selection of everything gardens, christmas, cloths, furniture, If you get a chance you should go there. The entrance is done out with Camels, Sheep, Donkeys. All moving proper nativity sceen. Thats worth a look if nothing else. Ros bought herself a long black dress. tiny straps. Should look great on her. She now needs a small sparkley jacket to go with it. MORE EXPENCE.!!!! (My favorite saying !!!) Yes Shelia means CRAB STICKS. I like them just to nibble on. Crossroads. "BENNIE" etc. almost like watching paint dry !!!!

Frank

Frank Report 9 Nov 2010 21:02

Jane

Jane Report 9 Nov 2010 21:13

Am signing off now.Watching 'Turn back Time" High Street.

Hi Sheila
Shame about the shawls. I never was any good at knitting, much prefer doing tapestry I still have one on the go. never seem to get the time to do it now adays it's over 30 years old ,a lion & lioness.
Oh My !!!another nice person complementing me on my looks thank you Sheila, I didn't realise I had changed, and I wasn't even looking my best, that day .no make up and very windswept.
You have all made my day with your kind comments lol

All you would find under my bed is old used tissues. I 'm never without tissues beside the bed, in my pocket or handbag.

I'll say goodnight too. going to get a drink and read my book for a while.

Morning All,

Up early as the sun is shining and I have the washing to get on the line. Have doc's at 4pm today.

Slept ok in the new spare room as ours is now all in the lounge waiting for me to sort out all the draws.

Still have'nt looked at all the pics you have sent me Sheila but loved the dog in the pumpkin outfit and the pus in her hat with matching accessories.
That reminded me that I used to dress up a cat we had.

What I found under our bed was four empty boxes of chocs, no I lie one had two in it! They were those lovely cherries in brandy covered in dark choc. I only really eat dark choc. As Fiona said a good collection of paper tissues and a lot of fluff and our bed is only about an inch off the floor. It is one of those with two big draws each side but comes apart completely in the middle which makes it easy to move out of a room.

Sheila have we had a pic of Jasper please? We have seen Teddy dog from next door. Oh and I must say what a nice looking young man your son in law is. You certainly have some good looking people in your family.

As to treasures I have found............ in one of mums draws I found a few pics of OH when we were first together. He looked so young!!!! and thin!!!! They were with a couple of my dad too bless her.

If this is the downstairs I am clearing out I dread to think what I have in the loft.

off now to see the rest of the pics sent to me before I start on the sorting again.

Maureen glad you had a lovely weekend. It does you good to let your hair down once in a while. Glad too that Alfie has been ok.

Oh am enjoying that old fashioned proggy about the shops. Was'nt that oven awfull that the lady had to cook the cakes in?? I don't think that was really fair. All that lard she was puting in the cakes dos'nt bare thinking about.

Victorian Farm starts again soon!! second series and I am looking forward to that.

Jane Report 10 Nov 2010 10:05

Morning Mel and All
I take it you didn't polish off those 2 chocs Mel lol

Lots of playful squirrels about this morning down in the village, and in the Churchyard.Rather cloudy and a bit chilly, but nice enough.
I need to go to the cobblers to see if he can shorten a stretchy sling back strap on the shoes I want to wear for the wedding. It keeps slipping off the back of my heel.I have only worn them once so don't want to have to buy a new pair.
Fingers crossed he can do it.This is an old fashioned Cobblers. It was most likely there when Frank lived here. But it will be closing soon and that will be the end of another old family shop.

Morning All, Lovely sunny day here, but only today! after that back to wet and WINDY!! All this chat about the dentist is making me swirm!!! I have to go next month, but only for a check up, I hope!!! I remember having root canal treatment once and it was SO painful even through injections! NEVER again!! Really loved that Edwardian Shop last night, mind you the Edwardian aged actually ended with the death of Edward V11 in 1910, so WW1 shouldn't REALLY have been an issue!! sorry guys, I think I'm being a clever clogs here, which might be annoying!! Anyhow, as you say Mel, having to manage with that oven, and all that lard, yuk!!!! Victorian Farm coming back? hooray. Still watching 'The Onedin Line', one drama on top of another! very satisfactory!!
