Well done, I wish I could find my Grandad's records but they are most likely amongst the burnt records.

I found two of my great uncles records WW1, I also sent for and have my Mums ATS record WW2. I am quite chuffed with that.

We found all war records for the WW1 men and also details of their lives and families.
Different with WW2 as the war records are not available but we are lucky in having their descendants of some of them in the town.

Does that mean you find soldier records and / or how and when they died?

LaGooner Report 14 Jul 2022 22:27

The Archive works as a team so I call on them to help out but I co ordinate the soldier projects.

I am hoping to research the WW2 soldiers that we know of soon, I have made a start but have had to leave it of for a while to prepare for the Heritage Weekend exhibition in September.

LaGooner Report 14 Jul 2022 21:21

Yes after a good bit of digging. One is a very common name in the area so it was not easy and the other one has many branches but I sorted them in the end

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 14 Jul 2022 21:17

Oh ok was you successful?

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 14 Jul 2022 21:08

We need the information in the Archive to answer a query from someone via our website

I was out getting my hearing aid fixed and a bit of food shopping, how did you get with the JCB, were you looking for yourself or helping others?
