I hope you have been lucky. I am still working on the folk for the archive records.

I've dusted off my JCB too and found someone that looks like it could be a connection to my M I L.

Evening :-D. Not done a lot today only the vital jobs. I did a bit of work on the dolls house this afternoon and now I am going to get the JCB out again :-D

It's been one of those days where I have been very busy but can't see anything to prove it, me thinks tomorrow will be the same.

One side of us is a big senior school , other side is a road so we are pretty safe methinks

We have 3 massive fields behind us thankfully the one immediately behind us is the school sports ground and PE, football games etc go on on there so is relatively safe from builders. There aren't any services there so it would be difficult but not impossible.

They can't build on the back of us for now as it is the Health center

The owner of the farm very near us had left in his will that upon his death the farm should not have houses built on it, well it will be built on but not houses, "they" always get what they want.
I bet he is turning in his grave now.

It is happening everywhere. We are almost joined up to the next 2 villages on one long road of houses

Umm sounds familiar, where we live now is getting that way.

I have never lived on busy roads and I have moved 8 times. The part of North London I lived in was a village but it is now joined up with umpteen others. If there was a bit of land between towns and villages they built on it. :-| :-| :-P

At the age of 69 and 7 house moves in that time I have only lived in one place that a busy road, the rest were cul de sacs but even that one road is treated as a race track.

No to many cars parked there probably, I wouldn't be able to sit there because I can't get down that low and if I did it would be very unladylike to get back up. :-(

I was always outside no matter what the weather was,making dens, playing football and cricket in the road outside or sitting on the kerb playing marbles. I wouldn't sit on that roadway now though :-0 :-0

Me too, coats and blankets on the bed, only one room heated, I don't remember feeling cold though, we still went outside to play.

I will be too, I was born in the age of no central heating,dryers etc :-D. I can remember the frost on the inside of my bedroom windows
