I went to the C of E service once at the church just up the road but the atmosphere was not the same in my opinion. Ours was a high church and the service was all in Latin

YG Report 24 Dec 2022 20:47

We went the year that Mum died, but I was disappointed as i thought it was a carol service :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D Although Cof E, it is a high church in comparison to others so the service was a bit 'heavy' :-0 :-0

I think her whiskers need re tuning :-D :-D :-D. We have now blocked the hole to stop her getting in there again.
I always loved the midnight services at the Catholic Church but I haven't been for a few years now as the lady I used to attend with passed away.

Erm I thought cats used their whiskers to judge if they can fit in or through a gap.

I should think she has got the hump after that, LG :-) :-) Poor thing, even if she was to blame for squeezing into tight spaces!! :-D :-D :-D

Maz, I hope you enjoy the midnight service and have a lovely day tomorrow :-) <3

Evening all, we have just sat down We had a trip into town to the bank and lunch out then delivered cards and then the wreaths to the churchyard. I planned to do a lot of work this afternoon but we had 2 lots of visitors so the jobs got put back hence we have only just sat down. Oh poor V not a good time to be ill is it YG :-(. The cat was well and truly stuck so he had to pull the washing machine out carefully so as not to squash her. She shot off upstairs for a while and then back to her usual hidey hole to sulk where she still is. She hasn't been out to eat since last night so she has definitely got the hump :-D :-D

Evening everyone :-)

Finally got jobs done by 5pm, so best laid plans for some relaxation before the big day went sadly wrong this year!!

V still isn't well, so called on Mum and Dad to help out this afternoon. Dad peeled all the veg and Mum laid the table and did some other bits, so we are all hoping that she feels much better tomorrow. We will all help out anyway! She doesn't appear to have any systems of the virus that's going around, so hoping that she has just worn herself out with various pressures.

LG, was fur stuck or is Chris a 'cat whisperer' ? :-) :-)

I have got to go into the bank tomorrow morning and if I need anything else I will get it then. The balmy cat has decided to come out of hiding behind the stereo unit and is now gone down the small gap between the washing machine and cupboard :-| :-|

Evening LG and ZZzzz :-)

I have done now, apart from getting some extra milk to take to V's on Sunday.

This morning I missed a visit from my buddy, but she is coming back tomorrow. z She left me a lovely bunch of flowers, sticking out of the little chimnea by the back door.

It looks as though New Year's Eve is going to be very quiet and lonely! Everyone is away - V is going to somewhere near Geneva skiing, with a possible marriage proposal looming and R&M are away just for the night as far as I know, so it will be Poppy for company for me!!

LaGooner Report 23 Dec 2022 21:42

I hope V is not going down with the bug, ours started with feeling tired and then a cough developed followed by the rest of the lurgy.

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 23 Dec 2022 21:39

YG hope V is just tired and feels refreshed tomorrow, its awful and worrying with all these bugs doing the rounds.
We have done all the food shopping now and won't need to go out again till after Boxing Day for milk and fresh vegetables.

LaGooner Report 23 Dec 2022 21:33

Evening YG, our roads were horrendous earlier on with so much traffic :-|. I got the meat out of the freezer earlier but not sure if we will feel up to eating it

YG

YG Report 23 Dec 2022 21:29

Evening LG. I'm pleased that you are feeling a bit better, but sorry to hear about your OH :-( Let's hope he is feeling a bit brighter tomorrow.

I've got everything crossed for V as she has gone to bed after feeling poorly all day. She doesn't appear to have any cold symptoms and I thinks it is too much running around, not eating enough and not getting enough rest. I hope she is going to be ok as she is cooking Christmas dinner!!

I have just sat down after staggering through the crowds at the M&S Food Hall at the Retail Centre this afternoon, helping V with her shopping, then back tonight to pick up a food order that had to be collected between 8[m and 8.30pml. It was quieter and comfortable to walk round but still busy The roads were pretty quiet though. I think the day's dreadful weather has pushed everyone indoors and they don't want to poke their noses out of the door! It has been murky with rain for most of the day but stopped now.
