At least they ended up in good homes. :-)

That is exactly why Holly ended up in the rescue center what a coincidence :-0

ZZzzz Report 31 Dec 2022 22:10

A friend of mine took on a cat from a rescue centre and was told that it was used for breeding so it might try to hide, which it did but after a short time it felt safe to come out.

Who is Daisy :-S a new arrival I am assuming. Has Oscar settled well now as he was a bit of a handful if I remember correctly. The photo was taken while she was in the care of the Rescue Center and we have not been able to take our own photos of her yet.

YG Report 31 Dec 2022 21:49

She is such a cutie, bless her and looks quite at home in the photo. Not too long to go now then, hopefully, before she decides to be friends with you :-D :-D

I am having Daisy from Monday to next Sunday while V is away. M is having Oscar, but she doesn't like having Daisy as she can't leave her without her constantly barking. She had bad separation anxiety when V got here and she has settled well now with her but is not used to being at M's. At least I don't have to walk her in the park, as she is only very small so can manage with the garden! Not sure how I am going to get on. They are both being looked after by a sitter for the weekend and M picks them up on Monday.

Just the same, she comes out for food after we have gone to bed and definitely wanders about the rooms as we have seen her footprints. She did venture into the kitchen the other week and took fright and got herself stuck in behind the washing machine :-(. The lady who works at the rescue center where we got her emailed to see how she is settling and she said she had her for 8 weeks before she finally started to come out of her shell.

That sounds very much like a post that I am following on Twitter about a couple that adopted a Romanian dog. They have had her at home for two weeks now, but she stays behind the sofa, just sneaking out for food when they have put the dish down for her.

LaGooner Report 31 Dec 2022 20:50

No she is still in hiding from us though we do get eye contact now when we speak to her in her hidey hole :-D :-D :-D

YG Report 31 Dec 2022 20:44

Ooh crikey, LG, that's a long time :-0 :-0

How are you coping with the Mini Gooners whilst you're not feeling well? Are they able to help a bit?

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 31 Dec 2022 19:44

A friend of ours has felt rough for 5 weeks now :-(. I hope ours doesn't drag on that long as I am bored to tears not being able to concentrate on doing anything or feeling to weak to bother.

I tend to be very Bah Humbug about New Year as I am usually on my own anyway. As the firework display is back on in London, I may well stay up as there are a couple of decent programs on the tv that might keep me awake until the witching hour!! More than likely there will be fireworks across the road anyway, so I might as well stay up otherwise I will be woken anyway :-D :-D

You are certainly dragging out feeling unwell. A lot of people are saying the same. Not a good start to the New Year!! :-|

LaGooner Report 31 Dec 2022 19:25

Evening YG, still not at all well and poor OH is really suffering. How exciting for V and I am so pleased she is feeling better.
Will you be staying up to see the New Year in? If we still rough later we will probably sleep through the end of this year :-D

YG

YG Report 31 Dec 2022 19:13

Evening everyone :-)

LG, are you still feeling rough? V is over whatever she had, although still a bit stuffy, but feeling much better. She flew out this morning to Geneva on a skiing holiday. We are expecting an announcement of a marriage proposal while they are away!! C is in Derbyshire with her boyfriend for the weekend and R & M are in Oxfordshire with fur, so I am home alone :-|

I have been busy today reorganising part of the wardrobe ready to put the xmas decs away when they come down, Just sat down and waiting for some quiche to heat up.
