Hi Karen

Me too - I know the book word for word. The foreword of my much thumbed copy says something like "whenever I have to take away a few personal belongings I always take Pride and Prejudice - a world where you MAY have money but you MUST have manners."

My copy of Rumours is at your disposal - could I please borrow "Lady Sings the Blues"?

Muffy, you should make the CD selection more interesting by stating that no compilations or "Greatest Hit" albums are allowed ...

CDs:

1. American Idiot - Green Day
2. Kick - INXS
3. Waking Hours - Del Amitri
4. Machine Head - Deep Purple
5. Rumours - Fleetwood Mac

(I picked these because they are the only CDs I have that I can listen to from start to finish without wanting to skip any tracks).

Books:

1. Last of the Mohicans - James Fenimore Cooper
2. Gates of Fire - Steven Pressfield
3. Morningstar - David Gemmell (a fantastic author of Fantasy, greatly missed)
4. The Odyssey - Homer
5. Lorna Doone - R D Blackmore

Dang, know I'm going to want to swap some later!

My choice, in no particular order, is:

Wish you were here - Pink Floyd
Dummy - Portishead
Blue Lines - Massive Attack

Psychotherapy East & West - Alan Watts
The Discovery of Being - Rollo May

A container ship somewhere is delivering a boat-load of copies of LOTR to a desert island, so I'll wait for that to dock at the Grey Havens and choose five others:

Pride and Prejudice (unless I can share Karen's copy?)
Wuthering Heights
An Encyclopaedia
A book of Five Million Cryptic Crosswords
How to make wine out of anything-at-all-on-a-desert-island - a self help manual

CDs

Leonard Cohen - Songs of Love and Hate
Joe Cocker - The Ultimate Collection
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger
Dory Previn - Live at Carnegie Hall
