Hi Amanda

Just been listening to a bit of Paulo, and it reminded me of you finding the CD in the co-op bin.

Hope this finds you well, my friend.

Take care

Hi Amanda

What wonderful news about Rachel, Ben and family. I have this sneaking feeling that they're going to make a go of this! Your Rachel has always struck me as a girl of inner strength.

The stupid phone was a monumental mistake. I was assured by our IT people that this was just the thing for keeping in touch with e mails whilst out and about. What a shame they can't actually make it talk to our IT system.

Plus, I can't talk to anyone, either. The stupid thing has to be kept in a case, which means you can't hear it ring when it's buried deep in my handbag. Plus, it has so many "alert" things that I don't have a clue if someone's rung, someone's sent a text or if there's been a general election in Kuala Lumpur.

Photos of the foot were entirely accidental. I was testing out this (apparent) feature that the ridiculous thing goes onto loud speaker if you turn it upside down. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. I can't actually get anyone to speak to me to test the feature out. But I can - apparently - work both the camera and the video recorder. Does my little toe really look so unappealling?

The insurance policy assures me it's covered if it drops down a drain - tomorrow may well find me examining appropriate entry points to the sewerage system.

But then they'll only send me another of the things!

Yours in total frustration

Sue x

Hi All

I would have been around earlier tonight, but I've got this dratted new mobile phone, which tells the time in Indo-China, has not one but two cameras and is supposed - and I do mean supposed - to connect to my work e-account.

So far tonight I've managed to:

a. send an empty text to everyone in my address book. Including the local takeaway, a taxi firm, the Inland Revenue helpline and numerous bods from work
b. replied to numerous "did you mean to say something" texts
c. tried to reply to others, but hey - pressed the wrong button: again
d. taken several photos, and one very moving video, of my foot
e. found this very addictive game
f. inadvertently deleted the text messages I'd kept over the years on my old Nokia. Easily transferred to your new phone, said the man in the shop. Even easier deleted by me.

Hope this finds you lot well and happy - even if you've had a quiet night!

If and when I finally get the chance to visit the Barry area I will certainly give you a look.
My cousin was there last month , he lives in Australia but was over here doing a tour about. He is quite a lot older than me and could remember the place from past visits.
I never met any of my Welsh relatives , Dad had lost touch with them all many years ago but I've managed to trace several of his cousins ( all elderly now ) and have been in touch with them ( they are lovely folk ). Some are still in Barry and some in Newport plus one in Cardiff.
Penarth doesn't ring a bell but Rhoose was one of there places I believe.

I'm pleased to hear that it has remained un-spoilt .

I do like a peaceful beach . I live in Norfolk , right on the opposite coast to you , we have some lovely places round here.......but sadly no hills or mountains.

TeddyWelshGirl

TeddyWelshGirl Report 31 Jul 2009 22:42
