I live in a Victorian end of terrace house converted into 2 flats,the house was built in 1902.
We have had weird things happen & my wife said she saw a little girl in our dining room.
I was a little sceptical until I caught her on camera at Christmas.
I always try to look for a rational explanation,but everyone I have shown the picture to can see it clearly.
Since then I have seen shadows,mainly in the evening & night,& I have also seen a cat.
My 2nd cousin is in to dowsing so we gave it a try,& it came up with the name Mary,& we believe she died here before the houses were built when it was all open fields & think she was 8 - 10 years old.
Some things that have happened here include my wife feeling something pulling at her clothes,this happened to her friend as well when she stayed the night,I heard giggling in the night & think my cat heard it too,cupboards being opened when I know I shut them,unexplained noises & sudden isolated cold spots.
So yes I do beleive,but always try to seek a rational explanation first.

Yes I believe, my mother died when I was two, and all my life, when I have been in trouble, it seemed a hand was there to guide me.

Only this last Saturday, I was having a doze in the armchair, I had not been feeling too well, I woke as someone looked around the door. I thought my OH who was upstairs on his computer had come down and put his head around the door to see if I was OK. When I said to him You came down to see if I was OK, he said No.

I think this was my Dad,. who had lived with us, and died in this house in 1985. just looking in to see if I was OK.
I was not at all frightened, just happy that I am being looked after by those that have gone before.

Have bored people on here too many times with the tale, but I definitely believe, and my belief was confirmed by the message I got through a medium at a local Spiritualist church I very occasionally attend when visiting mediums are on the stage. It was from my late mother and was about something as stupid as polishing a step at the top of some stairs, but I was the only person who knew I had done that. These mediums didn't know me from Adam or know I would be at the church and they got my name, what my mother died from and her ailments and one sketched a picture of my mother before she could see me in the audience and go her to a T. They also got my full name, not the name I use most.

I admit to being "chit".. scared as the effect it has one me is uncontrollable and difficult to explain. I can't breathe as my chest closes and my heart goes into rapid palpitations, cannot call out as am paralyzed by fear. It has been awhile that I have not had one of these experiences as I believe in the power of prayer. Thank God, it has been years that I have not woken from a deep sleep and someone ( a big man ) whom I do not know is standing next to my bed and just staring at me and me, paralyzed with fear and unable to move, I pray.

This is something that has plagued me since childhood. When I was smaller I believed that the devil lived under my bed, and would stay awake for hours, before getting up the courage to go and have a pee as I just knew that he would get me. On reflection it was also the influence of my "Nanny" who had her bed up on bricks so the "tokoloshi" would not get her.( A small bad spirit ) I too wanted my bed up on bricks but Mum was not having any of that.

As an adult (with the exception of my of a MIL ) I have been able to "feel" or sense before something that I don't want to know about or feel is about to happen, so can avoid it by reciting the 23rd Psalm over and over again until my breathing returns to normal.

I know but don't want to know.

When I started my tree I ws told that my great grandparents came from Yugoslavia.
I went to see a medium sometime later who told me that my great grandfather was born in Romania and my great grandmother was born in Austria. She also said that the place Heidelberg was important.
She also told me about a son of my grandparents who had died young.

I was later to find information to prove the births of my great grandparents and I also found the son - He died at 6 days old and nobody in the family knew about him :-(

I'm yet to discover what the Heidelberg link is though!

Hello Samantha, no I don't see them every night, I live in the country and have always thought they were going from their homes down to one of the pubs - a distance of about a mile.

No-one walks around here at might - it;s too remote,

I have never seen a deceased member of my own family or spoken to one.

I made contact with my grandad via a medium(think i spelt it right) lol that was 18 months ago. going back agin in September cant wait

I have never seen spirit, I would be too scared! I know thats silly, Of course I do but I can't help it.

Has anyone ever had any messages about their tree from the other side? I have :-)

Do you see these shadow people most nights? sounds very interesting i wonder where in the village they would have been/are heading to and why?

I have seem a few ghosts over the years in different places - call them what you will.

Now we live in a very old house and, once, both myself and my youngest son saw some in the house - we don't any more.

But, as dusk falls, I often see shadow people walking past the house on the way into the village and last night I saw 2 walking around the house. It doesn't bother me any more and OH and 2 oldest children don't see anything.

Im not allowed to talk about it at home scares the hell out of boyfriend, soon as i start talking i get told to SHUT UP! you should see the goosebumps on him as soon as i say ghost

Yes I believe without a doubt. My husband doesn't though. Makes for interesting conversation sometimes :-)

Grew up with the woman in my family that did as well. My Grandma used to talk to those on the other side and told me never to be afraid. It is easy for some not to be afraid but not so easy to do.

When my MIL died of a stroke some 14 years ago this month, she did not want me in her house and made her presence known....I did not want to be there but did my duty as is expected of a DIL.

My FIL has moved on and is living somewhere else, the house was willed to my OH. Although he has been back several times I have never gone back again....

The house will eventually be passed on to our oldest son as is the custom, but I will never ever put my feet there again.

Hi all. Not sure that I believe in another life as such. - but 'ghosts' are definitely about. A practical scientist once told me that it may well be like an imprint left by someone or something. He compared it to radio waves - they're all around us-We can't see them, or hear them until we switch on the right equipment! - Whether sights, sounds or scents from the past. He said we just don't understand enough about it yet, True enough - We once thought the earth was flat. The 20th century brought DNA to light, so never rule out what may seem impossible.

My mum has the same sort of thing at home but hers is Fresha's her fav flower aswell, been like that for years even when i was at home as a child but didnt know if it was someone there or not
