I can feel your excitement from here Sue :-D

I'm sure Maisie will be fine to collect today, though she will be a little sore for a few days.
Can't wait to have a photo.

I don't know about William Wallace, I just hope Braveheart (Mel Gibson) doesn't come screaming over Hadrian's Wall :-D

The weather is glorious today - sunny and the wind we've had the last couple of days seems to have dropped.

Thank you Susan and Berona for your birthday wishes <3

If all has gone well with Maisie's little op then she comes home at lunchtime :-D. In case you haven't noticed I am very excited :-D

We have been watching the news re the Scottish referendum - I'm not surprised that it was a 'No Vote'. I hope they don't resurrect William Wallace :-(

Hello Sue :-)

Good Afternoon Sylvia

I am already a crotchety old man who has driven my daughter to drink :-D

My greatest fear if the Scottish vote had gone the other way, was that the Welsh Nationalists (Plaid Cymru) would jump on the band wagon in order to realise their agenda for a separate Wales.
This would be ludicrous and just not viable. All our assets, coal, steel, tin, slate, have gone. All we have to export is an abundance of water.

Westminster has offered more power to the Welsh Assembly, which imo is nothing more than a talking shop, another layer of expensive Government. :-|

I always seem to get a wonky trolley when I go to the supermarket. :-(

OH does much better on his own :-)

Tec ........ so pleased to hear that you had a good visit with The Duchess today.

Enjoy your visit with your daughter tomorrow.

Yes, this whole Scotland referendum had so many features in common with what we went through with the Quebec separatists back in 1980 and 1995.

It WILL come back .............. maybe in another 15 or so years .................... the urge among separatists to separate never seems to go away, and Salmond will be in the background, without any doubt.

But we'll all be dead or or completely unaware by then :-)

or being nasty crotchety old men and women until we drive our children to drink (or murder!) :-D

Hello Linda,

I would have managed quite well had it not been for that stupid trolley. I don't need to do a big shop as I now get a delivery from Asda.
It is nice to see things that I may have forgotten about, and I did buy a few things.

How are you getting on at your son's?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 19 Sep 2014 22:16

Tec, be careful, don't go falling in the supermarket. If you had a decent sized one they would have a wheelchair with a trolley on the front, but then everything you wanted would be on the top shelf

Hello, :-)

A very warm muggy day here. We had torrential rain during the night, but it was needed.

I spent the morning sorting out the kitchen, then spent a couple of hours with the Duchess this afternoon. She was fine, and quite settled. It is better when I visit her on my own as we can talk more.
The Duchess was quite rational today. We discussed the Scottish result, and other current events that she is well aware of.

After the visit I ventured into the supermarket. I had Archie with me, putting my crutches in the trolley and leaning on the handle.
It would have been fine, but I had a stupid trolley with a mind of its own :-(
Archie took exception to this and he and the trolley tried to go in opposite directions at one time.

My daughter is coming tomorrow just for the day, to help with the new kitchen.
I don't know what help she has in mind as it's all done. :-D

Linda I hope they don't expect you to demolish brick walls at your son's new house.
I think you should be on tea making duty - don't overdo it.

Sylvia I am also pleased that Scotland is not now a foreign country. The whole thing just seemed ridiculous to me from the start.

Persie - Kayli sounds like a nice little dog, with an interesting pedigree :-D

Maybe Sue is collecting Maisie today - how exciting for her :-)

Milo is coming to stay with me in a couple of weeks for a long weekend. He thinks this is an extension to his own home :-D

A new doggie, that is lovely for you Sue. You will have to stay in Oz to look after her now :-D

I am just getting sorted to leave for the weekend to see my son. to be honest I am really tired and could do with staying put, but never mind. I will take my ipad but probably won't have much time to post, but will look in when I can

Sylvia has seen photos of my grandchildren's little dog they got a few weeks ago. Maia wanted a dog but Maia is out a lot so Kayli (dog's name) has attached herself to Anya and follows Anya everywhere.. she is so little she can't even jump up on the beds or couches. Nor can she get off the back deck so my SIL made a little ramp for her so she can go out on the grass and play ball etc.

She runs around a lot then gets tired and has asleep, preferably with Anya. She is a A MaltesexBishonXJapanese Spitz cross.. really just a little ball of fluff.

Oh and Maia, well she makes a fuss of Kayli when her friends come around and they all play with her for about 10mins and then go and do their own thing where upon Kayli goes looking for Anya.

re late birthday wishes .................

an elderly friend (88 next month) phoned just on dinner time on Sunday, to wish Happy Birthday to OH .........

......... his birthday is in mid-August

Then later that evening, another friend sent an email to me, wishing OH a Happy Birthday

:-S :-S

I think friend 1 must have phoned friend 2 and told him it was OH's birthday ........... but I'm certain that friend 2 had also sent greetings on the correct day!
