Why are you planting spring bulbs in the dark???

It is easier to visit now as she no longer begs me to take her home. It doesn't help that I know that she hates it there.

At least I can go more often, I'm sure that must help her. Strangely she also seems to have forgotten about this house, and when I mentioned something about the village there was no response, she just looked confused. Oh well :-(

I have lots of Spring bulbs to plant, so I'd better get going, or Spring will be upon us :-D

At least you can visit her more often now and as she isn't wanting to come home, you can go without it being upsetting

Yes it is unlikely that she will mix now. She gets on very well with most of the staff, who do seem to engage her in conversation.

It is a shame that she can't make friends so she would have someone to talk to, but if she hasn't been used to making friends, she probably won't start now

That's the way it seems to go Linda - some days OH is very sharp, others her mind seems to wander to her childhood.
She seems a lonely soul there because she doesn't mix. I wish she could make a friend for company.
Spends much time in her room sleeping or reading, or just wandering about the place.

They have fitted a sensor to her door, and the fire escape door where she found her way out at night last time.
That should alert them should she leave her room at night.

I think there are two or three who show some promise, but there are some dreadful ones as well.

It is strange that the Duchess can discuss the Scottish referendum so well, yet wants to go and visit her grandparents. I hope the home is secure so she can't wander out anymore

I too could write a book Elizabeth - Gerald Durrell wrote a very funny book entitled "My Family and Other Animals"
I could write another book under that same title :-D

Linda I also watched Strictly - with the exception of one gentleman, the standard was poor among the amateurs, but it's early days, and they can only improve.

I visited the Duchess this afternoon. The visit went well, and she seemed well enough. However, she kept on about catching the bus to her home village to visit her Nain and Taid (grandparents) and her childhood aunties.
Maybe she will have forgotten this when I visit again in a few days.

I am settled in watching the second part of Strictly Come Dancing. I wonder why some people agree to do it (apart from the money). Even though someone may have had no dance training, they must know if they have a sense of rhythm or not

Well, I despair sometimes. A couple in my own. The least said the better.

Some of the excuses I have heard over the years from different people,
from neighbours to friends about family members letting them down,
would enable me to write a book.

So I am always very pleased and feel heartened to hear of family members
who do care and show it.
