I don't need my biscuit breaking into four Tec, I will nibble on it delicately :-)

How is Maisie Sue, is she used to her short hair yet?

Tecwyn Report 8 Oct 2014 22:24

I hope that no news is good news Amanda.

I will of course do my best to help the little dog regain her confidence in men. Patience is the name of the game, and not to push it too fast.
She will come round in her own good time, needing to forget whatever traumatised her so much.
I have never seen a dog so frightened of me.

I spend most of my time worrying about someone or other Sue , it's a hazzard of having such a large family I suppose :-S

Amanda - I hope the two men will recover well. I can imagine they are a worry at the moment.

Hello Sue :-) I'm pleased to know Joel enjoyed his sleep over , it is so nice when you can get a Grand child on it's own , that way you get to see a different side of them than when they are with their siblings .

Hello Tec :-) We had the fire on in the kitchen this afternoon ( for the first time ) , I've managed so far this evening but am feeling the urge to put the fire on now as it is getting chilly .
I haven't heard from my middle daughter today , so am guessing " no news is good news " and that SIL is on the mend .

It is so sad when a dog is scared of people but I'm sure that you will be able to dispel her fear of men . In fact , I'd go as far as to say , I expect you to make it your latest mission in life :-D She sounds like a lovely girl , I wish her well <3

I know Linda - but don't expect me to break it into four, and hand feed you :-D

Good Morning Sue,

Hope you weather is better than here - thunder and lightning still around, we've had two short power cuts :-0

Not tempted by a biscuit is bad Tec, you can always tempt me with a biscuit :-D

I hope that your two son in laws are both well soon Amanda

Good morning Sue, did you watch the eclipse?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 Oct 2014 22:07

Hello Amanda,

Have been thinking about you.

Yes there is a dramatic drop in temperature. I've got the heating on this evening.

Sorry that you have illness in the family, and I hope that everyone makes a speedy recovery very soon.
Hopefully too the ladies with great expectations will continue to flourish :-D

Milo came in for his biscuit this morning, bringing his new friend with him, but the second she spotted me she turned tail and fled out through the door.
She is a sweet little thing, typical black and white collie, 11 months old, but terrified of men.
She did return and peeked at me from a distance, and wouldn't be tempted by a biscuit.
I think with patience, tact, and gentleness she will eventually come round.
I hope so, because she can't be rehomed until she accepts men.

Hello everyone :-)

Amanda we have spells like that when we are swamped with babysitting but these days it isn't often. We didn't have the children at all over the recent school holidays as their mum was off two. We did have Joel for a sleepover as he enjoys that.

Linda - I hope the anti inflammatory tablets work for you and the painkillers help you rest.

The weather sounds horrid Tec.

Sylvia - it was too overcast here to see the eclipse

:-(

Not long will do - trouble is you can't get anywhere fast in a wheelchair, as you will know, and Archie isn't given to exactly running either :-D

How is your knee today?

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 8 Oct 2014 21:51

Hello folks :-)

Linda , it is good to see you have got back from your holiday okay and I do hope your knee gets better soon .
Tec , it was a foul day here as well . Lots of rain ( but we did need it ) and the temperature drop is astounding . I think it was around the 22 degree mark on the 3rd and only got to about 11 degrees today :-(
I think you neighbour is doing a wonderful thing , looking after rescue dogs . I hope the new airrval soon settles .
Sue , I enjoyed the recent photos of Maisie , she looks like a beautiful girl :-)

It's been all go here just lately . We seem to be doing a great deal of baby sitting . Son in law ( husband of middle daughter ) , more or less collapsed at work on Sunday , he has some mystery virus , that has knocked him for six . We had Emily and Isla overnight two days ago , then last night eldest daughters three sons where here until late , as she was with her boyfriend , who has been taken into hospital with pneumonia and complications , as he is a kidney transplant patient .
On the baby front , everything is going well . Middle daughter only has 10 weeks to go , she is sporting a rather large bump these days , much to the horror of her sister Megan , who is beginning to wonder how on earth she is going to cope , carrying twins ! Meg has another scan tomorrow ( she is having one every two weeks , so if the growth rate suddenly goes awry it should be spotted fast ) .

It was a day for staying at home. No sense in getting soaked. So I will visit the Duchess tomorrow, given we are promised "sunny spells"

You have had a busy day Tec. I hope you get to see the Duchess tomorrow

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 Oct 2014 20:39

Hello, :-)

Sylvia - Glad that you bothered to get up to see the eclipse, very brave to be out there at that hour in your nightie :-D

I remember last summer there was a meteor storm. My daughter was here at the time, so we were both sitting in the garden at 3am gazing at the sky. She is into things like that. Everyone else went to bed.
There were some impressive meteors, at long intervals in between.
I walked about for two days after with a crick in my neck :-D

Linda I hope that your arms have recovered from being attacked by needles. My flu jab is due in two weeks.
I'm surprised that your GP didn't want a scan of your knee. Maybe he knows best, best I hope that you don't end up being sent for one anyway eventually.

I was going to visit the Duchess today, but it was such a foul day. Dark all day with torrential rain, thunder storms, that are still rumbling around, and hail storms.
No point in going out in that.
I shall go tomorrow.
So I worked on my bedroom again, getting it ready for painting.
I've emptied both wardrobes now. My daughter and SIL are coming at the weekend, so I will ask them to move the wardrobes out of the alcoves, so that I can finish stripping the walls.
Then I can get on painting the door, and skirting boards, ready for the man to paint the walls.

I don't think I would go out at that time Sylvia

I haven't read the leaflet with the new tablet yet as it was dinner time as soon as I got back, I will have a look later on

Hi Linda, Sue, and everyone

Glad you got into see your doctor, Linda ..................... do watch the anti-inflammatory tablets, especially if it is an NSAID one (non-steroidal anti-inflamatory).

They can cause stomach problems. If you notice any bleeding, go back to the doctor pronto ................... it could be an indication of a stomach ulcer.

I'm not allowed to take any of them, because of that problem.

It is very cloudy this morning ................ actually a mix of fog and cloud, which is expected to burn off before this afternoon.

The eclipse last night was beautifully clear at around 2:15 am when I peeked out ................ beautiful big moon with a big "bite" out of the left side.

I looked out again at about 3:15 am ........................ and it was completely clouded over just where the moon should have been :-(

We could see a darker round patch where we expected to see the moon, but that all.

OH went out on the sundeck at about 3:00 am, and did manage to get a couple of shots of the eclipse then .................. so he says. I haven't seen the pictures yet!

I have to say it was quite chilly standing on the sundeck in my nightie and house clogs :-)

take care everyone

I feel like a pin cushion :-( I had my pneumonia jab in one arm and the flu jab in the other.

I had originally made my doctors appointment so that I could ask for a cholesterol test as I have never had one. He didn't seem keen to give me one, but in the end he agreed based on my mothers heart problems. I am having a general test for all sorts of things, but not until a week on Friday as it is a fasting one, so needs to be first thing. I then have a follow up appointment for the results

He had a look at my knee but decided not to send me to the knee clinic (not a surprise) until he sees how I get on in the next two weeks when I go back for the blood results. He changed the anti inflammatory tablets to stronger ones and gave me some stronger pain killers. I got a months supply,so maybe he thinks I am going to need them for a while. I hope not,
