You know you're up for it Sue :-D

If Drew doesn't want Grandads cinnamon toast can I have it?

Aimee will love Maisie again before lunchtime :-D

Sweets before breakfast are good

The children have arrived :-0. Drew has a headache and has refused Grandad's cinnamon toast. Aimee announced that she doesn't like Maisie and Joel who slept here last night shared some sweets out before breakfast :-(. The day begins :-D

I'm not made of money you know :-0

She couldn't afford to tax and insure a car, and would have to pay parking charges at uni as well.

Doesn't really need one as uni is a short bus ride away from her house.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Dec 2014 22:02

I think you should buy her her own car as an xmas present Tec

Tecwyn Report 17 Dec 2014 21:51

My grand daughter is home from uni, via Toulouse. She has already stolen her mother's car :-D

but it does mean that she has to get out of bed early to take her mother to work.

Hello Sue, it sounds like a vegging out day in front of the TV is called for.

I am glad that my teaching days are long behind me, I feel for your poor daughter Tec

Hello Sue,

I can understand the children are tired :-D

My daughter phoned this evening. She has two more days at school before they break up for Christmas.
She said she was on her knees after all the activities at school recently.

Hello you two :-)

Mmm....sounds yummy, Linda. I do like a nice shepherd's pie.

We have the children today and tomorrow as they have started the summer holidays. They don't want to do much as they are tired by all the end of year activities.

It'll be such fun :-D

Eve can help you get everything organised :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Dec 2014 21:21

If you get organised before hand, it doesn't take much effort. My daughter has just told me that they are coming here for a couple of days before we all go to meet up with the others. That is a bit of a blow, oops I mean, that is lovely. Now I will have to be organised even earlier and plan some extra menus. Oh well, it will be nice to have them here

Milo is ok to be left for a few hours, he just goes to bed :-)

You have been very busy.

I said the other day that your Christmas always sounds like a military campaign :-D

So - you plan to get everyone drunk on shepherds pie :-D

" Have you had a drink Sir"

" No officer, it must have been the shepherds pie" :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Dec 2014 21:02

I am glad that your kitchen is all finished in time for the festive season.

What are you going to do with Milo while you go for Christmas dinner with your daughter? maybe he could go with you and have a special bone.

I have made two large posh Shepherds pies to take with us for Xmas Eve dinner.Expensive lamb mince and a vast amount of wine in them :-D They are in the freezer, so that is one meal done and dusted. I have also made a list of all the meals and every thing we will need to take, it all has to be organised with military precision you know

Hooray :-D

The decorator has finished - gone.

He has done a good job. My kitchen is sparkling - I need sun glasses. I wasn't expecting it to be done before Christmas, but it's done now.
Next to be done is the hallway, but that can definitely wait until Spring when I can have the doors open to take the paint fumes away.

Now I just have to put everything back in place again.

Again I didn't get to visit the Duchess. It was too late by the time the painter finished. Will definitely have to go tomorrow, as I have Milo here from Friday to Tuesday.
My daughter will visit her on Saturday while she is here, and she did see her sister on Monday.
Makes a change from looking at my ugly face.
:-D

You seem to have had quite an adventure Persie.
My SIL is also awkward, and other things :-D
I was once a SIL - I'm sure I was charming :-D

I wonder who August used to be? - I used to be the Duke of Wellington :-D

Have a lovely time in the supermarket Linda :-) I'm off to the village shop, which will be packed if there are more than two people in there :-D

My decorator has turned up - which is a good and a bad thing. Hopefully he will finish by this afternoon.

Tec :-)

Sil's sound to be universally awkward Persie, but at least you got to cook the food which would be a great help to them

I love Augusts quote, these little people can be so cute. No wonder you were exhausted by the time you got home, I wouldn't have been taking any scenic detours when it sounds like a straight line from A to B was called for

I am just delaying the moment when I need to go out and do a large supermarket shop, but I will have to go soon

Persephone Report 17 Dec 2014 02:04

Have read all the pages since I went.

Stellan is lovely, my daughter is exhausted and has shocking painful sinus as well. We got to their place after lunch on Sunday and they asked us to stay for tea (dinner at night).

I offered to cook dinner and bring it around for Monday night. There was lots of who eats what etc.. but Roast lamb rack, sausages, potatoes and a carrot, broccoli and cauliflower cheese was deemed okay.. I could only use what was provided in the way of dishes at the unit and luckily it had a roasting dish. and a nice casserole dish with lid for me to put cauli etc in. I cheated and took a bought Chocolate Bavarian Cream pie for dessert. Now my SIL is one of those who will not let you near the kitchen when he cooks and serves etc. So when I took dinner around and kept it hot in their oven I wondered whether I would get to dish up my own fare. Nope.. he would do that and he would call me if he needed me. He didn't serve up lamb rack how I do.. but oh well I had done my bit to help.

A friend had brought them around a chicken and veg lasagne and they had talked about having that on Sun evening.. but that got shifted to Tuesday when we were on our way home. By all accounts it was bland.

We took daughter too the doctors on Tues morning and then had a bit of lunch in town in Wellington with her and when she had finished buying a few things etc we took her home thus we were late leaving Wellington and ended up being so late home. Plus himself always likes to Tiki tour around on roads we have not been on before. Most of the time this is okay but there have been a couple of times where we have been out in the rolling countryside and the petrol tank has got very low. Coasting down hills etc.

Said to August you were a baby once, and he said no that was when he was someone else. :-)
