Well hopefully, you will have an easy day then. Tire them out is the secret of a quiet life :-)

A trip to the lake foreshore if it doesn't rain, Tec. Plenty to do. According to their mum they have settled down :-D

Good Morning Sue,

Hope you've got a programme of events organised - you don't want Joel being bored again :-D

It is sad that Joe Cocker has gone, I also liked his songs.

Hello friends. I can't stay to chat although I may catch you later. My turn to pick the children up for the day.

I was sad to wake up to the news that Joe Cocker has passed away. He had an unusual voice to say the least but I loved his songs.

So you may not be dragged out of bed before dawn to play the Christmas Fairy then, with any luck :-D

I expect their arrival is imminent now, if not already there

It will be bed time, but if Eve is up late she should sleep longer in the morning, well that is the theory anyway. Esme doesn't sleep at all, so no change there

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Dec 2014 19:21

Yes - you're right, I should have got the baubles down :-(

By the time your visitors arrive it will bedtime for the children, and I expect they will be tired after a long journey.

Milo's mother will be home tomorrow, so he has one more sleep here. He has been no trouble. The perfect house guest :-D

Oh that was nice for you to see them Tec. Now didn't I tell you to get your baubles down to decorate your mantle piece with. Did you listen to me :-| No you didn;t

It is the lull before the storm here. As I expected, my daughter didn't set off until late. They stopped half way up the country to see a friend and break the journey, so won't be here until about 8pm

Horrible dull day here. We are shrouded in sea fog and drizzle.

Had a nice surprise this morning when my mini fan club turned up :-D
The family were on a flying visit to friends in the village.
It was lovely to see them all again, but they were disappointed as there are no baubles on the tree for them to choose one.
So good to have a houseful of children again all telling me what they were hoping Father Christmas might bring them.

I've used them in stews, and tried them baked. Hate peeling them though.

Well I must let Milo out, then take myself to bed.

Have a good time with your visitors tomorrow,

Sleep well. Goodnight Linda

I am going to turn in as OH is watching football again.

I will try and look in tomorrow night, but my daughter will be here, so I may not have much time

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 Dec 2014 22:47

yes it is Tec, but it has a much sweeter taste than the other squashes, it is related to pumpkin as well. OH grew a few varieties this year, but \i prefer the butternut ones. I use them in soups, but also cubed in stews and tagines

It's a type of gourd isn't it?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 Dec 2014 22:33

I like butternut squash, OH grew some this year

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 21 Dec 2014 22:23

I more often than not skip the desert.

Last night I had butter squash soup with diced sweet potato, and paprika croutons.

That was nice

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 21 Dec 2014 22:19

I much prefer savoury to sweet things. I would always go for a starter and main course rather than a main course ans desert

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 21 Dec 2014 22:12

I do like their waffles and maple syrup :-)
