Hello Linda,

Sorry, I didn't see you there - you being so quiet, and creeping about in your new Christmas slippers
:-D

SueMaid Report 28 Dec 2014 21:21

Of course it wouldn't look weird Tec - go for it!!

Has it been at your cinema Linda?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 Dec 2014 21:16

Good Morning Persie,
Good Morning Sue,

I want to see Paddington. It was on over Christmas at our local cinema.

An old man walking into the cinema alone to see Paddington seemed a bit weird - so I didn't go.
One day it will be out on DVD :-D

Goodnight Tec and Linda <3 <3

I suppose I should get going too so I'll wish you a good day Persie <3

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 27 Dec 2014 23:40

I will definitely be back then :-D

It's definitely a fact of life but not a new thing. There were a number of homeless people following WW2 here in Australia so I'm thinking also in the UK.

Well it's bedtime now, again.

Enjoy your day Sue, and Persie,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

I will save you something Sue, in case you ever come back :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Dec 2014 23:26

We have many homeless people living in our cities in the way you describe Persie.
Some in rural areas too.

The people mainly using Food Banks here are people reffered sp to them by Social Services, CAB, doctors etc.
Many are working people on minimum wage who cannot make ends meet after paying their bills.
It annoys me that some people regard them as scroungers, some maybe, but the majority are decent hard working people.

I remember seeing a man going through a garbage bin and thinking that it so sad and below anybody's dignity to have to do that in a western country. A sad fact of life.

I will gladly come and share your hamper Tec :-D My daughter was given a bottle of Moët for her 40th birthday and a jar of hibiscus flowers in syrup. On Christmas day we had a glass of the Moët with the flower in the glass. It was delicious and very festive. I'm not a champagne drinker but I really enjoyed it.

A friend of mine would go to one of the bakerys at the end of day and take a lot off their hands and give it to the street kids. These people don't always go to food banks etc. they raid bins and live under bridges and down under manhole covers etc. They live in a world that I have never seen.

I will pass on the chicken poo thanks Sue.. Places out near the various stables sell horse poo .. apparently great for growing mushrooms. Where we are going there is a few horsey places.

I was watching a programme where people live by raiding the skips outside supermarkets - it was amazing what they find, and a criminal waste of good healthy food.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Dec 2014 23:11

Goodnight Linda - sleep well, keep warm :-)

Sue - come over and help me eat it :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 27 Dec 2014 23:10

I stopped using my last ISP because their technical advice centre was in India.
The only occasion I needed to contact them I came off the phone none the wiser but with a cracking headache after an hour of talking to someone who's English was appalling.

I spent my life in charge of many Indian men, and never once experienced a language problem. I understand them very well as a rule.

Hello Persie - we get our eggs at a farm shop. You can buy chicken poo too :-D

I want to know what's in the hamper too, Tec :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Dec 2014 23:04

All manner of wonderful things Linda - black cherries in kirsch, all sorts of delicious sounding relishes and pickles, wonderful cheeses, a very nice cake that is so heavy and very alcoholic :-D
Belgian chocolates, nice unusual biscuits. variety of posh teas, can't remember everything.

Persie there is shameful waste of food thrown out of supermarkets. Not all use by dates mean the product is not good.
Instead of dumping it in landfill, it could help to feed people using the Food Banks that are popping up everywhere here.
