Hi Mac, being in business and trying to get payment from people is a nightmare... from those I know who are in business, the same applies whoever the debtor. But (and I know this is off topic somewhat) is this not down to a general disinclination to 'pay up' for what you receive? eg high tax payers who employ accountants to keep every penny they can: politicians who claim for household sundries on their expenses whilst earning substantial salaries: bank officials who take bonuses for running a failing ship...etc etc...symptomatic of the 'ME' generation? rather than race.....or nationality as such? |

Sue, I think as with any laws/systems, there will always be loopholes which are exploited... whichever country it applies to, it is just a case of closing those loopholes whilst keeping a 'fair and compassionate' overview, if I can put it that way |

I remember (which some of you may be too young to ) the discussions vis a vis the 'Ugandan' refugees, Vietnamese boat people ...to name but two groups...who when they arrived, integrated and worked...and also, it has always been the case in the past that immigrants ( going way back now) have taken the 'worst' jobs and worked their way up whenever possible, and worked damn hard! to stay in the country whose Democracy they admired and aspired to.... IMO |

When I was in Brazil, as I chatted to waiters throughout my stay Brazilian & Jamacians I aksed if they had everbeen to the UK all told me that the UK has the strictest Immigration and was the hardest country to enter, I was shocked as well...however over the last few years I know it has tightened up...and if MrA marries Miss B then A & B can not come and outstay there welcome, if they do they are illegel imigrants they can not claim benefits as they are illegel they have no NINO.... |

For anyone who may have seen the you tube video that I think Mac is referring to which, in my opinion, is a load of claptrap here is a link to a website which contains an article you should read. |
