Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256 Report 27 Apr 2009 18:43

I know it's all over the place and seems ott but that death rate in Mexico seems to be hurtling up - doubled since this time yesterday. those 2 in Scotland have it (just confirmed) and those they have mixed with since their return are now showing symptoms.

maybe the upside could be that it will have an effect on people's personal hygiene - the number of times I see grown people cough and sneeze without even putting up a hand is just disgusting. so perhaps these will think a little and start taking a bit more care.

of course I must just ask you Jean, when was the last time you re-read The Stand pmsl

edit
sorry to hear about your sister Hayley, hope something is sorted out soon

No it aint funny Hayley - I knew someone who had a holiday in Africa once and came back and was poorly for over a year before they found out what it was - not funny at all, when your holiday is supposed to have done you good, and you are then poorly!

Could they contact the Hospital of Tropical Medicines (in Liverpool I think) and ask their opinion?

Hayley - sorry to hear your sister is poorly - has she been tested for intestinal worms? sounds gruesome, but apparently these can infiltrate the body via the skin, and cause all sorts of problems.

Jax in Wales Report 27 Apr 2009 18:21

I personally think its brill when the media hype up all these animal related illnesses, cos the more fearful members of society stop eating said animal and it gets cheaper to buy ;o)

Ay Jean - I was watching the news channel today at the hospital with friend, and every two blooming minutes they were updating the death rate and the possible numbers of those who have contracted the disease together with the countries affected. Very good viewing I thought for those patients waiting for treatment!!!

I have seen documents regarding Bird Flu though, and it makes frightening reading and now I'm retired I wont be in line for a jab(((((

Hey ho........................tomorrow it will be some MP's expenses again I expect))))
