Aye, it would be good, wouldnt it? lol

Kowhai Sophora Macro=sumthing or other!

I havent seen them in the Garden Centres as I suspect the tree I have was the result of a seedling from a larger tree somewhere in our village! Cracking little tree though, and if I see any seedling about will get them again.

Lord, I hope our Daff aint stuck to something glittery and cant get away!

Well............afternoon ladies!

I see our Daff is off on one of her adventures/travels - you cant keep a good girl down though, can you? long may she continue to motor!

Not been about much of late due to one thing and another but trying to keep in touch against prevailing odds!

Good to know the scrap-booking and craft stuff is still going strong, and that BC has been dragged into the 21st century with a new phone - BC does it do the ironing? cos if it does I want one! where did son buy it, how much and can one get a demo (although ironing aint that difficult if you only do the bits that show like me!)

Just wanted our friend in NZ to know that the the little tree I planted, a native of NZ, is doing great! it's kept all it's lovely little leaves despite the ravages of the ice and snow here in the frozen north, and I'm looking forward to seeing the yellow blossom when the Spring arrives! (that will be June then, will it?) I would recommend it to anyone who wants a little tree, can be kept in a pot, for their patio. BC - you listening?

Take care everyone - Bi for now

Just been down to a different from usual garden centre (Highfield Daff if you know it, on the A38). Managed to spend £45 on a suede and lambs wool lined gillette, a sweater and a lovely soft heather bag. Completely impulse buying and not a plant in sight!!!!

Hello all,
Yes Ann I did get an email from GR but didn't read it just thought it was a hot matches one or similar still i am here now for 6mths. Must remember to check emails more carefully lol.
No need for the coastguard Daff I am landlocked sadly in the middle of the Midlands as my Dad used to say.
I have to keep my eyes on my OH when he is in the garden as his motto is if it grows cut it down, we have had many a 'discussion!! ' because he has vandalised a tree or shrub when my back was turned , amazingly he still thinks I won't notice lol.Good job I love him isn't it.

I am going to do a bit of tree searching before my littlies arrive so ~~~~~~~~~to everyone and take care.

Mmm Daff, lamb is my favourite, I can smell it from here. I have got chicken to do somehow in the oven (thighs) tonight) and brisket to do in the slow cooker tomorrow.
It is freezing cold here, strong wind and no sun at all, very dark and gloomy. Just walked round for the papers and we were really cold so instead of calling in for coffee we have come back here and T is making it.

Then I shall make some cards I think, want to make some for the Cancer UK shop, picked up some of their envelopes to put them in on Wednesday.

MrDaff Report 6 Feb 2010 10:57

Good Morning!!! Another beautiful sunny day... I have a load of washing in the tumble dryer, and another load in the machine, I bought a leg of lamb yesterday on special offer, so decided to cook that off today... I have marinaded it in red wine overnight, and this morning cut some rosemary, chopped some carrots and an onion, and put the lamb onto it in the roasting dish... there should be enough there for a roast dinner today and tomorrow, plus a lamb curry on Monday... not bad!! So the meat is cooking..... and I can smell it, and it smells *proper*!!

I had a busy day yesterday... managed to get an appointment for my hair at 1pm..... and I am quite pleased with it!! It feels soooo much lighter and tidier. Then I met up with H, and we had a mooch around Dunelm, and a coffee... I bought a new duvet for Littlie... and then we went our separate ways...

I went to Tesco for a couple of bits. Well, that's what I went for. They had some craft stuff on special, the lamb, a nice pink suitcase for Littlie.... she uses her mummy's tatty old one at the moment... and loads of other *must have* stuff, lolol My cupboards are all groaning now!

BC, that was very kind of your son... but, and this is my big but, lolol ...... can YOU make it do all that??? Our sons are wonderful creatures, but (again, lol) they invariably understand the destruction booklet, don't they? And just cannot understand why we can't, lolol Still... it's lovely to see them isn't it?

Maz.... has your son, like mine, got a mental blank on when it comes to the washing machine? Although.... I have to say he did a load yesterday... it was still in the washing machine this morning! But at least he went to bed at a normal time and wasn't wandering around the house at silly o'clock as usual... and has been up and bright and breezy this morning by 9.30.... threatened him with no watching the rugby, lolol

Hiya Ginnie... I did wonder where you were... I was about to send the coastguard out to look for you, lolol We have been looking at the garden, and planning as well, but hubby said that there is another cold spell coming up... still we have the day together on Tuesday, so we shall go to the garden centre down the road and have a look at what is on offer!

Hope you had a good day at the library yesterday Mau..... did you find what you were looking for? Has the snow stayed away?

Ann, are you off anywhere nice today? We shan't be.... the 6 Nations starts today, and I have two fellas who will be glued to the telly, and then will spend hours discussing the game afterwards. *sighs*

Well... must go and give the lamb a quick baste, and peel the veg ready.... then I can just do my own thing for the rest of the day.

Have a wonderful day, however you spend it

Love

Nice to see you again, Ginnie, and have a lovely time with your grandchildren:-) Baby boy arrived, demolished the lasagne, cleaned up my computer, deleted my Facebook account (phew I couldnt get rid of it!) and brought me a Google phone which will even pour me a drink and cook my dinner, apparently:-) lol

Grey, cool morning here, am off to the park in the minute. So Happy Saturday to Dear Daff and all.

Hi Ginnie, didn't they let you know your renewal was due?

Have a lovely weekend with your grandchildren.

JustGinnie Report 5 Feb 2010 19:54

Hello everyone,
I have been lurking and reading but not posting and then when I wanted to post I found I hadn't renewed so couldn't post, lol. So now I am £9.95 worse off .
I have been wandering in my garden looking at the bulbs shooting and thinking where can I put some more roses, my favourite flower.

Daff I hate going to the hairdresses as well, so I have a lovely mobile hairdresser come to me. I dislike having anyone touch my hair so I wash it myself and she just cuts it and I blow dry it myself.

I have my gr/children tomorrow for an overnighter so I shall be a happy gran. lolol .

Have a great weekend all bye for now.

Good morning Daff & All :O) xx

It's rained all night here so now all the snow has gone Hooraaay! and cleaned the paths etc.

We're having a day out in Newcastle visiting the new library, and also hoping to find family info. so fingers crossed (X)

Sorry to hear son didn't arrive BC,always a disappointment when you've everything ready for them to come.but as Daff says after having your feet 'done' you'll be floating on air! :O) have a smashing day xxx

My hair has always been thick as rope Daff, but since becoming older it's a lot thinner and very soft, kinks in some 'strange places' lol

Have a happy day everybody

MrDaff Report 5 Feb 2010 09:40

Good morning!! It is beautiful here... looks chilly out, mind... I am going to try to get a hair appointment today... well, not today, for Monday or Tuesday.

Is anyone else like me, and not like going to have their hair done? I know, now, why mine is so difficult to style... at heart, it wants to be a mohican, lolol... that is the natural flow of the roots... so factor in very thick, strong hair as well... and it is a nightmare to style, and keep... which is why I either let it get unkempt, or keep it very short. But... it looked like a toilet brush for ages last time I had it cut, and add a very slight chemo curl to the equation... can't win... always something to moan about, me, lolol

Then I have a bit of tidying up to do.... I didn't do a great deal yesterday... and then.... the rest of the day is mine to play with... I am half expecting a phone call from favourite sister... well, she is closest to me in age, and we fought like a couple of alley cats when we were growing up (she always put her toes through my socks.... I hated that, still do... and she still does... put her toe through her socks, lolo)... BUT.... we get along just fine and dandy these days... and of course, I always get spoiled by her daughter!! I never had daughters of my own, but have to say, I have a whole gaggle of wonderful nieces.... and you can give them back, lolol

Anyway, H is on a day off today... and I know that she might just want to go out to play if the weather is fine...

Maz.... I am betting that your dirty washing seems to double all on it's own as soon as you turn your back on it?? That's your breeding programme? *smiles smugly at BC* lolol

Aw I shouldn't really..... *changes smile to big huge grin* Morning BC..... that is always such a disappointment, isn't it, when you are looking forward to seeing them..... maybe he knew you were making lasagne? lolol Never mind, you'll see him later... and you'll be floating on air cos your feet will be lovely!

Ann..... I feel like doing that today, too..... just ambling along daydreaming! I am going to see if B will finish clearing the leaves in the garden for me..... not on the flowerbeds, as I think that they have acted as protection, just in the corner of the paths and on the decking..... something to be said for being a slovenly gardener, sometimes!! The blackbirds are always rummaging around.

R is off next Tuesday... we are going to see Holiday on Ice in Cardiff, we are really looking forward to it. But we are planning on making a day of it... gently, as I don't want to be too tired for the show... and we shall go and start getting the seeds and stuff ready for sowing....

I did a little wander around yesterday when I was feeding the birds, and noticed lots of plants beginning to wake up... that little violet has a lovely amount of growth.... couldn't see the second one, but didn't really look to hard.

Well... let's go and see what has been happening on planet GR...... and then start phoning and tidying and meditating and prevaricating and stuff... *grins at Ann and BC*

Love

Daff xxxx

Morning Maz....'breeding programme'? My mind is boggling! lol Rainy but mild here. Baby boy's flight was held up so he had to stay at hotel in Airport over night. I shall see him later today. I also see podiatrist today which I always like!

Hope you have a good day, Daff, and all:-)
