Daff, I always use folded A4 for larger cards, it works well as long as you make sure the edges meet before you crease it.

Lovely, Mau...... it is a bit catching too, lololol ;¬))

Hope all is well with you? Not snowed in or anything?

Ann, I have visions of the Dunlop man waving a feather duster around now... all those extra layers, lolol.... seriously, hope you get in touch with them soon.... we have a contract with British Gas... they don't supply our gas and electric, just the annual contract for fixing of equipment, drains, pipes, plumbing etc.... it has been well worth the money, although the initial outlay was expensive as all the equipment had to meet a certain standard... and they come out within an hour if there is a vulnerable person in the house.... they were brilliant last year, even when R explained that the person who came must not have a cold etc.... I was just out of hospital after the last lot of chemo, so very vulnerable! Hope you get your heating sorted soon.....

Hello Karen!! ~~~~~ It was lovely, wasn't it? And you don't look so bad yourself.... I think we were both fibbing, lolol ;¬)) Oh..... and I was early, too.... I tried the pub door at about 10.10am..... and no comment from you about being early for a change, Ann.... or Joy.... or anyone else who knows my penchant for the grand... and late... entrance, lolol ;¬))

Next time you are home, it would be lovely to meet up again, if you have the time. I know how busy life can be when you *go home* and there isn't always time to fit in everything you want to do... and relax as well, lol!

I have scrubbed this thread clean Ann.... it's the glitter.... it just seems to attach itself to me! *frets*... oh, and I am sure that our Dunelm here doesn't advertise the craft section either... there isn't masses, but what it does have is good, and a bit cheaper than Hobbycraft..... I love it! Oh... and the Cheltenham one opens it's doors for browsing at 10.30.... but you can't make a purchase until 11am...... good, innit??? So you can drag Himself out at the usual time, lolol

Mummo.... everything is crossed for Eddie's x rays today..... ((((((hugs))))) for you both......

BC.... that is the most important thing, lolol..... what time are they arriving? You could just make sure the lights are kept dim....... and the curtains drawn... then it will look cosy. Have you forgiven your little doggie yet? I can hear her wailing in distress from here!! ;¬))

Maz.... today is half over... another couple of hours and your holiday starts, lol But you'll be really busy, by the sound of it.

BC, are you on Saga, too?????? My goodness.... what with Twittering, Blogging and Salsa lessons..... you can give us a demo at Peterborough.....

Morning Joy.... hope all is well your end.....((((hugs))))

Jude, that is what Pol is on... only for cats of course, not dogs. She seems perkier already with it... she always has a mad half hour in the morning, but these days it doesn't involve leaping up the curtains and on top of the wall unit.... but she has paddled across my laptop a couple of times this morning, chasing Jethro, lol.... he always joins in her games, and very gently, bless him... she is still Top Cat in this house. It is lovely to see her jumping rather than dragging herself onto things again. Quality of life always wins, doesn't it?

Right... I have to go and sweep the house with a glance..... I need to make space on my craft table to make R a nice Valentine card........ I have some nice glittery card and some lovely heart punches in two sizes....... and ribbons and bows and stuff... no card card... if you know what I mean, but I have bought a thingy for creasing a page..... he will have to make do with A4 folded over..... and no envelope... maybe I can wrap it into the magazine I got him on military stuff..... yep, that'll do, lol

See you all later....... have a lovely Friday everyone.... the weekend starts here, lolol!!

Love

I have to keep reminding myself that we have only had proper central heating since 1981!!!!

AnninGlos Report 12 Feb 2010 10:45

Not cold so far BC. Have extra layers on,...... and a clean bathroom, cloakroom, lounge, bedroom, cobwebs all busted. Just having a cup of coffee. The annoying thing though is our usual plumbers/heating engineers are not answering their phone. They are so good when they eventually come but the wife of one of them is usually their receptionist and she is not reliable. having said that it is understandable as she has two disabled children, I think they are autistic, so has her hands full. But they are very successful so I wish they would employ somebody else to do it. However, we are giving them until 11 o'clock and then ringing another firm.

Oh Ann, that is awful and it is so cold right now! I do hope you can get it fixed really soon. In the meantime, why don't you and OH join me in my 'How to Beat the Cold...Saga Salsa Lessons?' lol

Excuse my rudeness, good morning all and hope it's good news about Ed. I am in a dither as I have not done any clearing up and my visitors will arrive later and..and....

ah well, the wine is chilling so that's a start.

Oh Hi Ann in Glos,
Just to let you know, my head has healed nicely now, the hair has all grown back so the scars are hardly visible at all (and only cos I know where they are).
I was a bit worried for a while as the hair didn't seem to want to grow back. But it got over the trauma and forgave me in the end and grew!!
Thanks again for all your help and advice at the time!

Hello Karen, good to see you in here. Yes it is cosy but there is sooo much glitter around!!!

Glad you enjoyed the meet and she didn't embarrass you at all!!

Nah, joking, she's lovely is Daff, and her bright red coat!!

Come and see us again some time.

Hi Daff, back now, well was back at 7.30, went into town for a curry (at Wetherspoons cos its cheap!!)

And I told himself I wanted to do a recce to Dunhelm, he's looked it up and knows where it is but is puzzled because it is all furnishings etc (he said) and doesn't mention craft stuff). But I think I might get to go ther on Sunday. although they don't open until 11 so may have to go for a coffee in Sainsbury's first (their coffee shop is Costa Coffee)

Ahaaaa. Found you!!
Never been in here before **looks around room**, it's nice isn't it, all friendly and cosy.

Got to tell you all - I met up with a woman in a bright red coat yesterday. She tried to drag me into a pub at 10.30 in the morning....luckily it was closed or I think I would have been led astray good 'n proper!!
Instead we went to a garden centre where we had coffee followed by lunch. She didn't even do a runner when she went to the loo, so meeting me couldn't have been so bad, and we spent the afternoon having a good natter!!
I discovered I had met a lovely friendly and caring lady who says she's around the same age as me, but I know she's fibbin' cos she looks years younger!

Lovely to have met you Daff,
hope all is well with you, your family and your cats!

Evening all... fairly good news as far as Pol is concerned... she is doing well for a cat her age, but has arthritis in her front leg, and in her hips and back leg... she never ever complains, but I know she finds some things difficult on a cold and damp day... as we suspected, she is virtually deaf... and her teeth are wonderful, lol She has a slight heart murmur, and smallish kidneys... but nothing untoward for the moment

We have to give her some painkilling medication which will eventually affect her kidneys.. it will accelerate her end, but..... it will make her last few months/year or so, much more comfortable. I mean, we were given the choice, obviously... but my life would be pretty miserable some days without painkillers, hers would be so much worse. And I know that quality of life is important..... given a choice for myself, I would take quality over quantity every time. I could do no less for my little girl! lol

So... she is still with us for a good while, I hope... and she will have blood tests every few weeks to check her levels...

I was wondering how Madoc is, Jude.... bless him, he has been very good about wearing it! Pleased you have sorted your pc out.

Maz, thank you.... it was good news, thank goodness..... he will still whinge though.... Lol... he has been on the phone today to have a really good whinge about a minor problem.... no-one has been in so much agony and pain as him.... it is to do with his chemo (it was......... originally) and he suffers so badly with it, I couldn't imagine... I shall leave it to your imagination, but he has it in the singular.... just one.... and most women who have had babies will have had more than that..... lololol

He was a little bit huffy with me, because I couldn't stop laughing at him, lolol.... and then his wife started to laugh as well....... he is disgusted with the pair of us! ;¬))

Huia.... hello, it is so good to see you. It will take a while for your sleep pattern to settle... you had to be alert even when asleep for a good long while, so your body has to re-train itself. As you say, at least you can nap in the day now, and that might be the answer. ((((hugs))))

Mummo, it is horrible, laying awake and knowing the rest of the world is asleep, lol..... I have a string of sleepless/restless nights these days... then a couple of nights where I conk out for hours.... that makes it difficult, lol.... cos my bones and joints ache a bit when I wake up, but it soon sorts itself..... I am going into that phase now... I slept 7 solid hours last night, but could happily curl up and sleep now, too, lol, but all last week I was awake most of the time. I use Nytol then.... it helps a bit. (((((hugs)))) for you, too

Mau, that was a wonderful time he had... he will always remember it.... He sounds a lovely caring young man... don't they grow up so quickly? And without permission from any of us, too!

Ginnie, I have had a brilliant time the last few days... a bit tired now, but nice tired, lolol... I have been sorting out my craft stuff... I will do some of that tomorrow, as it is relaxing.... I am making a card for hubby for Valentine's Day... that'll shock him, I haven't sent him a card for years, lolol!!

Ann.... hope all is well? ((((((hugs)))))

Love
