Morning all... well, I didn't get out yesterday, but I did potter around the garden, so got lots of silly things done, so was very pleased with myself.

I have sorted one of the raised beds, and it is now ready for the aubretia and something else that trails, to go in... that'll be today. I have planted up one tub of carrots, and some beetroot and spinach... B has put in peas and runner beans, and then but a cloche over them...more potatoes are going into two of the tubs today. I have sorted loads of pots out ready for the garlic, basil, coriander and dill. Also for the onions... they will go into a pot, as well as a row in the garden, just to see which is better.

The hanging baskets have been cleaned, and are ready to fill with tomatoes and strawberries when the weather is a little warmer......

Son then *vacuumed* up most of the leaves, and bagged them... I have cut back some shrubs, so today the shredder will come out, and I'll zap them through that, then leave it to dry right out.... I'll use it as mulch in the autumn. We need some more compost, and sand, so will get that later..... and I am hoping the wormery and the other thing.... erm, Bokashi system, will come today.... I think I could fill it already!

The aim is to compost all our natural household waste/kitchen scraps, grass cuttings/ etc etc and that should mean that after this lot now, we should never need to buy compost or fertilizer/feed again.

So today, it is more planting of seeds.... some for in here, as they are *hot house* stuff... finish off the last of the leaf lifting.... and I want to turn one of the compost bins, as well. We added the other to the veg patch and B dug it in yesterday.

So I had a very satisfying day yesterday, and so far, more of the same today....

And more blue skies......... it is lovely out there... I had my breakfast outside for the first time, and without a cardi or jacket!

Off to play again now!

Love

Daff xxxxx

Well went to the Range................still didn't have any pictures that would go in my sitting room :((( but did but a large ironing board cover, some t towels and some lovely tasty nouget , mmmmmm.
Ann the range at Gosport is situated next to Fort Brockhurst, one time many years ago it used to be a big co-op superstore.
Well have behaved myself today, hope everone else has, lol.

Good Morning everyone,

Another beautiful day here, hardly a cloud in the sky... not sure what I want to do today. I ought to be giviving the vacuum cleaner an airing.... and those two pages need finishing... but I am very restless... my taste of freedom and rebellion has stirred my sluggish blood, I think, lol!

I have a small shopping list... but it does mean a trip to the Range... I want one of those metal bird feeding stations and a swivel stool for my crafting area. I reckon I could get both in the Range........ can't go anywhere for an hour or so, as my hair is soaking wet, and if I use the hairdryer, it will look like a bottlebrush again... it is growing very quickly, and I have an appointment for next week, not sure which day though, so I suppose I'd better phone and find out.

But... if I get stuck into anything else now, I'll get sidetracked. I know I will! Oh.... and I am expecting a new wormery, and a Bokashi system to arrive today... so maybe wait in and see what happens.....

I shall nip out and tidy one of the raised beds at the back, I think... then I shall see the daffs(5 in full bloom, a dozen or so in good bud, and loads of others well on the way, now) plus the primroses, little iris-ie things and anything else showing it's head... well, I'll have a clearer view of them.

So that is what I shall do today... tidy one bed, fill two of the potato bags, and get on with the last of those pages.... not too much left to do on them, actually.

I'll put a cloth and a pretty ornament over the vacuum cleaner so that I can't see it staring reproachfully at me, lolol

Love

Daff xxxx

Good morning, just about to have breakfast then walk to the post office, taking the longer route to get some exercise.

Glad to see you are being good this morning Mummo. Give my love to Gosport, where is the range there? In the town?

Well BC we are all inclined not to walk so far as we get older, maybe she is trying to tell you to slow down!!!

Trust you are not gallivanting today Daff.

Hello all, hope you have had a lovely Mothers Day. I have had my 2 gr/ch here and we made a small gift for Mommy they had made cards at school.

Sounds like you enjoyed your day with Mom Daff, we have to make the most of the good days don't we?. My mother had Dementia for years before she died but the early years were so full of odd days when she made us cry with laughter at the things she said and did and she was 90+ when she died so we had many years together. My OH mother died when he was only 11 so we have to be grateful for what we have.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

MrDaff Report 14 Mar 2010 17:41

Good evening everyone.....lol Ann...... It has been lovely here, and I have been out since 9.30am.

Not a soul was stirring... R grumbled and turned over... sent the cats in to B, and he shoo'd them out and then pulled his door shut..

So, Mummo, I did what you did.... well to a certain point... I went out, but left a snotty note to the menfolk, to the effect that I was going to my mum's, to deliver the card I had made and the gifts I had gathered into a basket for her... and that I might be back by tea time if I felt like it.

That I was taking Maggie (silver car) and not Suzee (yellow car) as Suzee was like a cess pit/ashtray cross, and I was fed up.. I certainly wouldn't expect MY mother to sit in it.

So, mum and I had lunch in the garden centre, we bought a few plants each... then pottered off to the park for a walk around the lake... then back here so that we could collect some seed potatoes I have over.... to find son scrubbing out yellow car... all was gleaming and glinting in the sunshine.... the fleecy tunnel was in place protecting the first of the veg to be planted (broadbeans and carrots) and pots are ready to be planted up with the potatoes tomorrow... oh, and all the plants in tubs already have been watered.

Still no card, though.... and I deliberately left all my stuff out yesterday so that he could use it to make me one, lol.

And he has an interview at the garden centre next Friday..... informal, and look around, so nothing definite... I just happened to be chatting, and they said they needed, and I mentioned my son... so they gave me an application form, and said for him to pop in next week to have an informal look around when he delivers the form back to them..... so please everyone keep your fingers crossed!!

Still, I have had a lovely day with my mum..... she is definitely scattier than she was, but benignly so..... we have laughed like drains all day, lol

Mamiddau, they are just so small and defenceless looking, aren't they?

R is cooking a lamb dinner... it will soon be ready.. scrummy!

BC... hope your head is better, now? lol

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 13 Mar 2010 09:06

wmsl Susan.... I am not saying a word!!!!

Maz, will keep my fingers crossed for you! The weather is beautiful here, too... so hope it stays that way for the day... we are going to be digging, tidying and cutting down the overhanging brambles today... although..... I have just remembered that there is a big match on today... so I think I might end up out there on my own.

So I might go shopping instead.

To the Range

Or Dunelm

Or both.

I would like some hole punches (oval, round and a bigger butterfly) and pale yellow card. Oh, and some toning ribbon. And some flowers.

That'll learn them to watch rugby and leave me to my own devices.

Ann, I find toning down really hard, lol... and I have followed a *pattern* from a magazine for the basic structure.... but it still doesn't look right, lol Still.... I haven't added the *happy Mother's Day* thing.... so I will put them to one side, and maybe they will be just right for another occasion.

Off to shower and get dressed....... I can get the shopping done early, and play later!
