Daff, if you type out a long post, before you submit it hilight and copy it, then if you need to you can just paste it into a new reply.

Daff, I went to England in 1997 with my sis and her OH but we didnt have time to visit Wales. Sis and her OH did it a few years later. And I havent been to Scotland either. Or over the sea to Ireland. I have found so many relatives and friends on GR that I would have a lot of visiting to do if I ever get over to the UK again. Unfortunately I cant go while my OH is still alive and in a private hospital, and I am not getting any younger (who is, apart from some of those flightly things on chat). Ah well, I do enjoy 'meeting' you all on the boards anyway.

I have just spent 20 minutes typing out a long reply..... and it has gone.... I have tried to do that back thingy, but it doesn't seem to work on this site anymore..... and it is happening a lot, I am so fed up with it.... and I know I pressed submit and not anything else!

Right lets see if I can remember what I wrote, lol

Ann.... I am packed, glasses on my nose, spare glasses in glove compartment of car... will dig out sunglasses from yellow peril later, lol We plan to leave about 1, take a picnic with us, and stop off somewhere nice on the way, off the motorway... R spent an hour last night planning the route, he has a printout of where we are going.... and everything is ready to go... cept him, he is still asleep, lolol

Maz, it sounds like you had the perfect bargain...... well done, and glad you took a day out to relax and enjoy yourself as well.

Ginnie and Jean, I am soooo looking forward to this meet.... I have orders to take notes and report back.... and just so everyone knows, I am going to be really well behaved, the height of decorum and good manners..... and please don't believe a word of what anyone else writes about me, cos it will be fibbies, lolol

Huia, it is such a shame you are so far away, but if you do get over here.... well, Wales is very beautiful, and we have a spare room!

*worries about BC dragging mahoooosive brolly on train*

Love

Oh I do so envy you all being able to meet up with each other. How I would love to be over there in England so I could go to some of the meets. I did meet Mags from Bristol when she was in New Zealand for her sons wedding. Was that last year or the previous year? And I have met Persephone aka Norma who lives in Auckland. but that is all.

That is really positive news about Ed...am so pleased for him, and for you Mummo:-))

Well I hauled a HUGE parasol from Ikea on the bus and have just put it up in my patio and apart from swallowing me up inside it at one stage and I couldnt get out! it is far too large. And no I forgot to take measurements. *sobs....

Anyone want a very large chic black parasol?? I could always bring it on the train I suppose, to the Peterborough Meet. I am sure somebody would like it. Maybe Hayley for her designer garden? I shall think of something.....

Sun is still blazing down, everyone is out in summer gear already!

Good Mummo, that is really positive. He will feel better for making the effort I am sure. It will be frustrating for him but in the long run will be good.

Ed did get up and would you believe he is now out the front sitting in his wheelchair pulling out the weeds with his helping hand ( device like the people use for picking up litter). so good to see him doing more things.

MrDaff Report 8 Apr 2010 10:48

Morning all.... we had a very busy day yesterday..... I sorted out one corner of the garden, and it is looking lovely, lol.....

Today the weather is beautiful very sunny, so we shall spend the day out there once again.... I only want to amble, though, as we have a long journey tomorrow to Peterborough, and I don't want to be knackered before I start, lolol

Son has the veg patch now well under way, at last, and sowed some seeds in the grids he set up.... the seedlings we have been growing in pots are doing well, now, and ready to be transplanted... he'll do that over the weekend, he said, while we are away. He worked hard once he was up, so maybe he has turned a corner.... he has always been a hard worker in the past!

I am sat in the conservatory, with the door and the windows wide open.... it is beautiful!! Well, except for the enormous bluebottle that flew in and now can't find it's way back out.... oh and there are bees!! We have seen a few buzzing around today.... not the Queen bees, we have seen a few of those already, but the *normal* bees, dipping their heads into the camellia and daffodil flowers.... the woodland area looks stunning, the dicentra has started to flower! Everything is coming up nicely.... Ann, your dad's sedum is really doing well.... I am going to try and take a couple of cuttings from it next week.... maybe even today, but I am running out of soil to put them into.

Right.... have a lovely day everyone, and hope you are all well

Love
