Morning Daff, Gizmo, Maz, Mummo and all:) Well it looks like we shall have to form an Appeals March to the DWP, but think it advisable that we use our crutches and bloomers merely to wave in the air and not to inflict damage...*titters....unless SueM thinks differently. I do hope you are feeling better today, Daff. keep up that fighting spirit:))
Raining and bleddy grey this morning, am off to the park, then Bunny comes to do the windows then I go singing in our community choir.. I hope to fit football and h*****work in the spare moments I get.
Have a happy day everyone. BC XXX

Thank you BC and Ginnie.... I can just see you marching on said doctor... or DWP, lol
I am less snotty now.... eyes still a little red rimmed but that could be from the shampoo..... not a good look, is it? wmsl.
I was incandescent, too, BC.... I am sure that you could probably see me from your patio!
I think the worst thing was that I had such a fight to get diagnosed in the first place... I was constantly told that I had nothing wrong, that I was middle aged and menopausal... so what more did I expect... and so to basically have the DWP tell me that after all chemo, and the CDiff which has left me with a lot of problems, there was nothing wrong.... that my bad days when I hurt like toothache in every bone in my body, when even Oxycodone doesn't work... and I need steroids eventually to help me... or the days when fatigue like a weight on the end of a crane comes crashing down on me. That doesn't incapacitate me, it seems.
But a relative, a bit younger than me, has had a bit of a breakdown, can't cope with working or in her flat, so has been given a house... two bedrooms, no dependant children, they live away, like mine.... with full benefits. She moves in two weeks.
I am not the slightest bit envious of her house, or her lifestyle.. I have mine and I love it. I am envious of the fact that within 4 months of sobbing in a GP's surgery, and laughing afterwards about how she had fooled him.....she has what she wanted of the DWP.... and I don't. Just the stamp. She is over 50, but has worked just 2 years of that time, in all her adult life, part time... but with 3 other *under the table* jobs, cash in hand. I would shop her if I knew for definite that she was still working there.
The thing is.... she planned it in my conservatory, last October. I heard her, and had no idea that was what she would do for real. So it is all false.
And all I want is my stamp paid, so that I do not have to retrain or work in a supermarket etc, just for 4 years, so I can get a pension, a state pension.
I am getting angry as well, rather than sorry for myself, which is always a good sign. ;¬))
Life is so unfair... but most of us get back up and battle on.....
Whinge over!
Love
Daff xxxx

~~~~~~~~ to all Daff Sorry to hear that you have had problems with DWP but not surprised it seems to be the norm and the Dr. should have some more training by the sound of it.. I don't have a crutch but I do have a rather nice walking stick so I will join your army any time. Chin up and all that and don't let them grind you down.
I shall help SueM, oh yes indeedy, I have an old crutch left over from my bunion op days and two walking sticks plus an unused metal thingy from a Hoover. Let me at em!
Am exhausted now, will have to lie down:)) ~~~~waves to Ann in the sunshine and to Mau on her way to London.
Afternoon all.......
I have been a bit tardy haven't I?
Well, I need to explain why.
The DWP has decided that I am fit for work, and all I want is my NI stamp paid, which it seems I am not entitled to either. I felt like a malingerer, as though I am trying to fleece the system. And the doc who conducted my medical didn't know what AML was... a bloody doctor fgs.
For two days, I have been at rock bottom, crying, like I haven't cried before. I have been totally and utterly gutted and devastated. It was as though all the fears and anxieties of the last 18 months suddenly leapt up and bit me on the bum in one go. It was totally overwhelming, to be honest. And the first time I felt beaten.
I haven't dared come on here, this thread, lol..... cos I'd never have stopped blubbering, lolol
But now I am back in fighting mode.
I have spoken to Macmillan, to the Leukaemia Care group, who have appointed me a telephone buddy... who just happens to be brilliant! Very constructive.
And I have spoken to Welfare rights officers at Tenovus, in Cardiff... I have to go to someone in Newport, but will speak with her later today.
I now know how I have to ask them to reconsider, and appeal..... and I am back in fighting mode.
Worn out, exausted, red eyed and dead snotty, but fighting again at last.
Just like to say a huge thank you to you all for giving me so much support.... I really have needed and appreciated it... looks like I am going to be banging on about the DWP for a while, now, lolol
And to Sue M, who has offered to go and beat them with her crutch... or help me with my appeal, lol.... I like the crutch idea, myself.... xxxxxxx
Love
Beautiful day today, clear blue skies and lots of sun, no cloud, very hot. Having a lazy day, did a load of washing, wandered down for coffee, bought bread etc and wandered back for lunch. Going into town for a meal with our hosts this evening which will be nice.
Last night the sky was wonderful, not a cloud in sight, really clear and sooo many stars, we sat out at 10pm with a drink and just looked at them.
Morning everyone!
I will, I will, I promise!! ~~~~~ to Huia... hope you are well? Lovely to *see* you xxxx
Maz, I think Gizmo and Jethro are twins..... they sound very alike, they really do... Hermie has the Ahhh factor, because he looks like Davy Crocket's hat crossed with a teddy bear.... all furry and snuggly.
Pol is beautiful, graceful even though she is 19 this year and has arthritis badly... she has her silly moments, and is the *Top Cat*
Rosy is a cross between a scrapper and needy... one minute she is bashing heck out of all intruders (she is good with all ours, though) and the next she is desperately trying to get your attention... but she is one of those who goes OTT so she just can't get enough and gets silly.... Poor Jessie is still finding her way... I have to be careful not to feed her too often, as she then thinks she has been elevated to *Top Cat*.... and as she is very territorial it is Hermie who gets it. Which is strange, because he can be a bit of a scrapper, too, with invaders.... but... I think it is Jessie's awkward gait that puts him off!! He is a disableist cat!!
Jethro just makes me laugh. He is sleek, and handsome, like a miniature panther, but cheeky, naughty, very affectionate but knows when to call a halt and curl up... he is very tolerant of all invaders, loves people, and has loads of attitude. There is not a day goes by when he doesn't make us laugh out loud.
I used to have a black cat just like him before... he died in 1990... and I swear Jethro is Twt having another life, lolol
BC.... I have washed it this morning, and am letting it dry naturally without any gunk on it... (hair, I mean, lol) so once it is dry I shall be able to tell whether it will settle or not. She has cut the crown too short, though.... that is sticking up, lol I'll need to staple it down, I think ;¬)) but it will grow in a week or so.
I think I was just having a very bad day yesterday.... one of those days that nothing seemed to go right from the moment I woke up..... Also, it has always been difficult to get a hairdresser who can tame my hair... I like it short, but it needs to be cut carefully to look good... and I was very disappointed because she had definitely got it right the first time, and that is very rare! I don't like going to the hairdressers much anyway... and it takes me a long time to find one... and then we'd move to a different part of the world or country and it would all start over again, lolol
Ann, that sounds interesting. I wasn't overfond of sangria, to be honest, and when we went to Tenerife and Fuerteventura, I really only wanted cold fruit juices... I never tried the Cava... but I have since, and quite like it. I like the Portuguese Green wines, as well.
Maybe I shall need to switch back to white wine.........
Well, off for a toddle around the boards... we shall all be going to vote when R gets home from work, later, so I have nothing much to do but remake our bed... I have just stripped it... and empty the dishwasher when it has finished. So I shall play in the garden for a bit, I think.
Love
Daff xxxx
Daff, when you cancel, tell them that you had planned to do some shopping afterwards but had to go home instead, to try to wash the blood out of your top, and it is lucky for them that you succeeded, otherwise they would be paying for a new one. Really rub it in about how careless she was, and how your ear was bruised from your attempts to control the bleeding, and how it carried on every time you knocked your ear. Just make sure they are fully aware of all the problems that were caused.
Huia.
I have just written loads and loads, and lost it when I was trying to scroll up to check the spellings and stuff... Not my day!!
I am fine now... ear is still bleeding very slightly, but only if I knock it, lol... my top has come up lovely in the wash...I will go in next week and cancel in person... they will know why, and who... I won't take prisoners, I promise.... as you say, by next week I shall have grown an extra half inch.... my hair grows quickly... I was just so upset, that I didn't want to make a fuss, or I'd have shamed myself by bursting into tears, I was very close to it. But I am fine now.
Thank you all so much, lol... Ann, some Kalimari will make me feel betterer??? ;¬)) Thank you, lol.... I will dig out some of Littlie's sparkly hair things, BC, lolol Can't do the red wine, BC, lol.... it gives me sunstroke!! I have forsworn it for the time being....... just until the next time...
Well... off to do something constructive, like prepare some dinner for Lord Hunter Gatherer, lol
Oh Daff, do cancel your app. and go to another hairdresser even if you have to try someone new, I would also complain to the owner/manager and claim for a new top as well. Bet you couldn't wait to get away from there. I'm sure your hair looks fine and as Mau says in 7/10 days it will be perfect. Ginniexxxx
