BC, if that is the common Jasmine then I dont blame her. It is far too sickly sweet for me. I prefer Jasminum azoricum, which my mother grew from a cutting from her mothers plant for me. I much nicer scent, and not quite such a vigorous grower. Here in NZ the J.polyanthum just grows so vigorously my acre would be completely overgrown by now if I had it planted. Even the azoricum I have to keep cutting back to stop it taking over too much.

Afternoon Daff and all:)) So glad the sun had come out for you,Ann, it was out here for an hour or so, otherwise a bit chilly. Delighted you are getting some help Mummo, take whatever is offered! Do you have a garden with your new flat?

Just had an annoying morning with the dragon, I sometimes wonder how I have the patience to deal with her but, in a weak moment, I promised to 'see her out'. lol

I think the jasmine is about to burst out in bloom. I pity my poor next door neighbour as she just hates the smell! Imagine!

Rain stopped so we went down into La Paz and had half litre white wine and cheese and ham toasties. Very nice. Sun is out now although the clouds have not gone completely. Very humid though

I think I have your sunshine, Ann.... hope you don't mind us borrowing it for a couple of hours.... I am sure we will be having our rain back soon, lolol

Mummo, that is kind of your son's friend. Hopefully, everything will just slot into place as you go along... but it is very annoying that you are not told about what help is available, that you have to go out and find it! xxxx

Maz, I wonder how long he can keep up being good? lolol....

~~~~~ to BC in case she pops in later.
I am off to make the most of the sunshine before it scoots off back home to Ann, lol
Mummo, well let's hope you can get help then. Why don't they tell you these things? To save money I suppose.
And, guess what? It is pouring with rain and we have a load of washing in.
Me Again, thanks for all your suggestions ,
my sons friend has just come round and said he will give us a hand ( his a painter and decorator) bless him.
Ann we are in private rented.
Have just read the tenancy agreement and we should be able to get some help with the decorating ( they don't tell you that you that do they, lol.)
Right will leave you all alone now, lol
Have a good evening, x
Daff, son has one of those mug at a time kettles, the only one they have, sooo frustrating when you are making 4 mugs of tea/coffee, I don't like it at all, it doesn't seem to boil properly. Maybe yours is different. Just walked down to the local view point and had garlic bread, hald a pizza each and a freebie on the house of potatoes in Mojo sauce, quite spicy, very nice. Plus a jug (half litre or medio Litro) house white (blanco). Cloudy at first but sun came out hot, just resting after the walk up.
Maz hope all goes well, my eyes itch when around strange cats.
Mummo, sounds grim, wish we were nearer but you will transform it and it will be a relief when Ed can move into the bedroom. Do you have to sell your house or is it rented? Just wondering if you have that hastle too. I am sure you are entitled to some help from somebody, It is awful that everything is such a fight to get your rights. Nobody seems to advise you do they?
MrDaff
MrDaff Report 9 May 2010 13:28
Afternoon all... I am fighting fit, wobble are well over... or at least banished for the time being! I have my Field Marshall head on lol
Mummo, I have no idea of yours and Ed's ages, but I have just been informed by a welfare rights officer that Help the Aged now work with people over 50.. so it might be worth you going to them to see if they can put you in contact with a Community help team. Sometimes they work with folk doing community service under supervision etc, but I know my hubby's aunt use them here quite often for all sorts of jobs like mowing her lawns, decorating.
Do you belong to a church? Because if you do, then they should be helping you out, that is one of their functions.
Google to see what help and support is available.. and it isn't charity, it is need. What you need is someone to help you with painting and decorating at the very least. There may be a way of you getting that help.
Good luck, I do wish we could all be there to give a hand.
Maz, how exciting! It is all happening now, isn't it. Poor A. And if Gizmo is anything like Pol and Jethro, they make a beeline for those who are either allergic or hate cats, lolol Have a lovely time with the family xxxx
BC, it is overcast here, with the sun trying to sneak a peek through the clouds every so often. The wind has died down, so not as chilly, either.
~~~~~ to Ann who should be eating Tapas, at a pavement cafe, enjoying a glass of Cava, and sunning herself...... don't forget the lotion has to go on all exposed bits... no more red patches, lol. And if you are not, Ann, why not? Eh??

I am in the garden today. well I shall be in a minute.

I cleared the kitchen, and have put the kettle in a new place, so that'll confuse them! But it means that I won't have someone under my feet when I am cooking, trying to make a drink and getting in my way. That really annoys me, especially when they don't mop up the spills. *Glares in direction of son's bedroom*

I have two kettles (well, I would, wouldn't I) One is a proper kettle, and that I keep on a tiny bit of work surface, and use only when I need a kettle full. For drinks, I have one that just boils a mugfull at a time. It is really cute! I find it very successful. But in the way. It is a bit of a beast. So it now nestles next to the fridge, but out of the main kitchen area. I use a jug to fill it. *huge smile* all sorted!!

Well, lets have a wander......

Have a lovely day everyone.

Love

Daff xxxx

Oh Mummo if you were nearer, we could go and get our GR army together and help you out with the work! Well, I could supervise and give advice. lol But glad you have a new place even if it's not quite what you expected, you will make it 'your own' in no time at all. I am surprised you are getting so little support from authorities...tsk tsk...

Glad your weather is improving Ann and hope the flight situation is sorted soon.

~~~~ to Maz who is probably surrounded by people and feeding them and sorting them out. *frets...hope nobody sits on Gizmo.
Drizzly day here, hope our Daff is feeling heaps better.
Hi Ann, sorry didn't tell any of you about the flat, had so much to do this week and when we went to view the flat l just burst into tears, just couldn't believe the state of it but housing officer told us it was one of there * better* places.
There was no heating in the place so they have agreed to put gas central heating in which they are starting on Monday, have managed to get them to put in a new sink but the rest is down to us..............its like the place is stuck in a 70's time warp, lol.
Don't get me wrong if Ed was still able to do it there would be no problem but there is a lot to do plus we have to carpet and decorate every room and buy a new cooker so what savings we had are certainly dwindling but in the same breath l am gratful to be offered the place ( does that make sense ???? )
Ann if l let Ed pick colour schemes would end up with ********** lol.
By the way Ann our new flat is very near St. Marys church at Fratton, wonder if they have church bells.x
I must have missed the bit about the move Mummo, glad you have got a flat will have to see if I can find where you said you'd got it to see where it is. Hope all goes well with the move. I am sure you can get Ed involved in small ways like packing up bits while sitting down, and maybe making plans for you on paper. He can also help with choosing colour schemes etc. Is there an organisation in the area that helps the disabled/elderly with decorating? I am sure there used to be.
Morning all, where's the sun ?
I have a busy week ahead, we get the keys to our flat on Tuesday.
Can't move straight in as a lot of decorating to do first then new carpets to order and get laid.
Shame we have so much to do but can't live with mauve and yellow walls in the sitting room and the bedroom is so dark if l left it like that we'd need floodlights to see where were going, lol. and l'm no good at decorating so hope l can call on a friend to help.
Oh l hate moving, wonder how many times will l lose my temper in the coming week and what makes it worse its going to be hard for Ed to sit
here and watch.........its usually him that organises the moves.
Well better get a move on, hope you all feel sorry for me, ha ha. xx
Making a flying visit. I will be home to sort that lot out with you if needed, getting the broomstick prepared as it seems planes will not be available due to yet more ash, this time over Spain.
Keep on being angry Daff, you'll soon sort them out. with the help of the heavy mob on here.
Hope \ed is propped up again now Mummo Lol!!!!
Wmsl @ Mummo..... poor Ed, lolol!! Yep, we keep on keeping on!!
Maz, it is a strain, isn't it? I have the DLA until November this year.... AML is classed as a special case, because it is extremely aggressive, and has a very high percentage of returning within the first two years... with each day I move closer to November, so my chances are improved, lolol So they give you high rate almost automatically with a review at 2 years, because they work on all the worst case scenarios... and of course, I still get very very bad days, just not so often. But by then I expect I will lose most if not all of it....
BC...... it is grey and dismal here, too..... but I am much better, thank you.... and in fighting mood.... lots to do today, h*******k is forgotten, as it is all about budgets and penny pinching tactics, as well, lolol.... why is it that traumas are all chucked at you in one fell swoop.... and not one at a time, so you can focus better on sorting it out.... but hey, no-one said life was easy, and the good times more than make up for it, lol Please sing loud and clear so I can hear you down here, lol.... Heartsease, a good dose of singing is!
~~~~~~~ to our lovely holidaymaker if she pops her sunkissed nose in today, lolol....... Mwah, Ann xx

Love and Universal (((((((hugs))))))
