Oooh goodness it looks very festive in here, bunting, glitz ans balloons.. who has been having a party???? Where is my slice of cake, then, anyone kept me one.. *looks around hopefully* Nope? Grrr!! wmsl Oh well... your waistlines gone to pot... mine will never be redeemed, lol

Hope you both had a wonderful birthday, BC and Ginny, mwah!

Ann…. Yes, that is it…. A Heuchara! The card sounds spot on. What is it with little girls and fairies. Don’t know about little ones, even big ones like me love them, lol

Huia, yes… it has lovely daisy like flowers… it would seem they are perfumed as well, and mine almost died, too, but it does love it’s current spot, I shoved in just to give it a last chance, and now it’s thriving. It will mean that I shall be able to leave the conservatory windows open if I pop out, just in that corner, when it is a bit bigger, as no-one would be able to fight past it… it is very prickly.. but as the lower window opens very wide inwards, I can prune it from inside, lol… clever, isn’t it? It will also provide shade in the mid-day sun.

Ginnie, Happy birthday.. looks like I have missed a fair few, doesn’t it?? I do hope you are having a wonderful time, with visitors as well. My garden is lovely, and I love it… but it is always a bit of a mess and untidy somewhere or other, partly to do with the Horse chestnuts, partly to me and R being natural mess magnets. The have three phases of dropping debris (The trees, we are pretty constant throughout the year, lol). Plus, by the time I have finished sorting out one area, the first needs attention, Hopefully, I will have the energy to do that over the next couple of weeks. How lovely to have everything newly painted and suchlike. I will finish our room when son leaves the nest (again!) and then hopefully paint the spare double. That will become the children’s room, as I can get 3 singles nicely in there, and just fit in a double in the littlest room.. we’ll see.

It has just started pouring down with rain…. Tropical thunderstorm-ish only so far no thunder.

BC I do hope you had a wonderful birthday yesterday. I didn’t have much chance to log on. Well, no chance, apart from transferring funds from savings into current account, and that took seconds. So apologies for not wishing you a wonderful birthday on the day Mwah !! I was fine, by the way, had a couple of *big guns* yesterday, so didn’t risk anything stronger than orange squash. It was very funny watching the rest of them falling over a lot ;¬)) But no sunburn for me, at all.. good girl I was. Hope you have a lovely time putting the world to rights and looking at it through rose tinted *glasses* lol I think I might have a glass or two tonight, as well.

Not long then, Maz, lol… countdown on… mind this year just seems to have zoomed by, doesn’t It? By the way, thank you for clearing up… didn’t they leave a slice for us? Grrrr!!!

Mau, That must have been you singing and tra-lahing that I could hear... beautiful it was, too *pulls out earplugs and hides* The flowers, though are truly stunning, it looks more like a wedding than a birthday party has been happening here...
~~~~ to Rach... I always miss the party's too.....
~~~~~~~ to Mummo, I think you got the last slice of cake... was it scrummy?

Right... off to tread the boards and see if the GR world has changed much in the last day and a half, lol

Love and (((((hugs)))))

Good morning BC was contemplating. Got a busy day as well, household accounts to sort, driving licence application to sort, house to start blitzing ready for sister's arrival Sunday, visit to hearing clinic with appointment but still a likely wait, then in to town to get PO to check licence application. Washing already in the machine so there will be that to hang out (bedding mainly so I can get tangled up in the sheets Lol!!)

Hello everyone I am here again, bedrooms are now completed and I am very pleased with them,I put up the curtains in my gr/chs room today so that looks fresh and ready for the next sleepover.

I am expecting visitors tomorrow as it is my birthday so I shall have a lazy day I think lol.

Daff your garden sounds beautiful, my roses are blooming well this year, I have mainly deep red ones but have 1 yellow rose that is really pretty as well.

Well I am off for a wander around bye for now.

Daff, I had to look up one of my books to see what the NZ holly is (I dont think too well at 3.20 in the morning when I should be tucked up in bed fast asleep). As I suspected it is Olearia ilicifolia, a member of the daisy family. We bought one once but it didnt survive.

Heading back to bed soon for about the 4th time.

Huia.

I have been quite energetic so far, after T left for golf I dusted (yes really!) our bedroom so that is one room out of the way. Except it needs himself to tidy 'his' clothes chair. Then I went for a longish walk, collected papers and stopped for coffee at the garden centre, bought a pretty double petunia which I came back and planted, then made a card for Granddaughters birthday which took an hour as it was fiddly decoupage but she'll love it because it is a marigold fairy all glittery gold. Now I am going to have some lunch.
Glad the rose is thriving Daff, was the reddy leaved one a heuchara?

Afternoon all...... beautiflly sunny here... I am all over the place, lol I have given son a list of jobs to do.... and to my amazement, he is doing or has completed them all, and very well, too. He is cleaning the bathroom at the moment....

He was up at 9:30 and not in the slightest bit grumpy, either, so has been really pleasant company. He drove me in to Cardiff, and waited to take me back, then made me a cuppa and a sandwich without me even asking him to... and he is whistling. So it looks like my sunny natured baby is slowly returning, at long last. I love him to the stars and back, but the grumpy version has been a little difficult to live with at times.

I started back on the steroids today, so by Friday I shall feel like a five year old, lol.

Julia, I sooooo agree, there is always room for another plant, somewhere!! Have a lovely time at the Garden Centre, later. And that is lovely... a Welsh poppy to remind you of the Welsh GR'ers, lol In my garden, I have lots of plants that were either given as gifts, or the seeds were, or I bought because they reminded me of people on here. I think of Huia every time I look at my New Zealand Holly... it went through a very bad time for a while, and is now beginning to flourish and thrive, just like Huia, as well., ((((((hugs)))) for her.

I have Lilies in a pot, about to bloom, and they were a gift last year from the lovely Taff... plus my wishing well, which Littlie loves... she throws pennies into it every time she visits. And the seeds are now stunning plants!

Then the poppies, remind me of Jude, plus she sent me some thistle seeds, and they are doing so well.

The miniature roses sent by all those who contributed to a collection for me, when I was taken ill, are still doing well, and two are about to bloom again. The other has lots of buds, but is a bit slower.

The Rowan reminds me of Jac, who suggested it... this one isn't a *normal* Rowan, but has masses of white and pink flowers, and then the berries are a beautiful pearly pink later.

And everywhere I look, I see Ann in Glos, lol... her garden was the inspiration for mine, although mine looks different, I have used the same principles. Plus I have been gifted hellebores, violet, grasses (Ann, the Niger has a a baby, as well, lol) lots of little shrubs I forget the name of now (little green and white leaves) and the deep dark red/bronze, erm, can't remember that one, plus the sedum that started life in her dad's garden and is thriving in mine... and cranesbill, and the beauty of them all... my lovely, stunning patio rose, chosen by T, and I can't remember it's name either... gone, mind is a blank. 17 roses in bloom this morning.... and lots more to follow. It was still blooming at Christmas, as well, a lovely deep apricot. I absolutely love it.

It is so lovely to have a garden like that... two of my ramblers were bought for my Granddaughters. *sighs happily*

So pleased you got the hearing appointment sorted, Ann..... I can only clean my cooker when I am cross..... in fact, that was how I used to channel my anger..... mmmmmm, maybe I should start whipping up the ire, myself ;¬))

BC, I am still high as a kite... on the Big Guns, but by tomorrow it will have eased, and I should be getting lots of energy back. My friends will be here about lunchtime tomorrow, so that will be good, and they are very easy company. If she even looks like raising an eyebrow at the mess, she'll get a duster and the vacuum cleaner thrown at her, lol

~~~~~~~ to Maz as she flits in and out...... nearly the summer holidays, Maz, shall we start a chuff chart countdown?
~~~~~~~~ to Mummo, as well, plus some (((((((((hugs)))))))))

Right, off to have a second attempt at Domestic Goddesswomanship.

Love
