Daff could B not take her to your doctor and ask their opinion? I am sure there is a junior medication available, it is miserable if it is hay fever. Do her eyes itch?

Ann, she has had this for quite a long time now... the last couple of visits, certainly. She did get a cold each time she came for a couple of times, but then she was clearly poorly. Apart from the constant dripping nose and the cough, she is the picture of good health.

B says that S thinks it is just a snotty phase she is going through... I don't, I do think she might have asthma/hayfever. And as it is in my family, and mummy has it too... well, I just wish they would get it checked out. She is definitely sensitive to soaps and stuff, we have to be quite careful. Well I am. But all the indications are that she has it. B did... it started at 7 but he'd grown out of it by the time he was 14. And I have asthmatic attacks from specific triggers... and as they are almost totally avoidable, I manage it really well... plus I know that mummy and *friend* smoke in the house when madam is in bed. Just found that out!

So... all guns blazing or diplomacy?

BC, Mau and Mummo you are more than welcome to join, come on, dive in.... *pool* is a bit of a grand monicker, actually.... it is really the fire engine ball pool, lol.... but it serves the purpose. ;¬)) BC..... we are not overlooked at all, so you will be well hidden from prying eyes... yer bloomers and camisole will do the trick.

OMG can you remember those ruched bathers????? wmsl I have a photo somewhere... must scan it and put it as my profile piccie on FB, lolol

Madam is watching the Christmas DVD of Peppa Pig honestly.....

Aaw bless, I have a picture now of littlie trotting around with shoebox under her arm. I am so pleased that she liked the stickers, I thought it would be nice for her to have something to 'open' on your birthday. I am in the process of putting together a similar box with notebook stickers etc for S when we go up for her birthday in July.

could the cough be asthma do you think? With B not being there you don't know if she has it when she is home and not just when she comes to you. It certainly sounds like an allergy. What about pillows, quilt etc could she be allergic to the fillings?

Or maybe it is hayfever and if she only gets it at yours could it be something off the trees? Perhaps B need to talk to Mummy!

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 28 Jun 2010 09:57

Ann, your youngest would get on with B then... he does re enactment, too... stopped for a few years, as ex wasn't keen, but has just started it again... they are mainly *fantasy* but based on various historical themes... usually Middle Ages or Viking Marauders, lol

Why do they grow so quickly? I want to keep them just as they are for ever.

~~~~~~~ to Maz
Littlie was awake in the night, coughing badly, and is now fast asleep again. She has a dreadful cough again, and very runny nose. She seems really well other than that, not ill or anything. She does have patches of eczema, too, and I am wondering if what she has is a form of Hayfever. I know her rash eases off when she comes here... I wash all her clothes out again and use sensitive stuff with an extra rinse cycle, and that seems to help her. She arrives with the cough and runny nose every time, so it isn't my cats, lol... plus she has two of her own, and children brought up from babyhood are rarely allergic to cat hairs. I must try and find a diplomatic way of interfering, lol
Right, off to find stuff not to do... I have been bitten by the research bug again.... Janey Canuck's fault, as we have rellies from the same mining village in Cornwall, it would seem. However, in this brilliant sunshine, it is uncomfortable sitting indoors during the day to trawl through the records. Plus, I have forgotten how to access some of those records, too. I shall have to re-learn that. And the weather is too nice to sit and play on the pc.... paddling pool is being refilled as I type, ready for madam later, she loves to stretch out in it, especially as we don't have a bath here, just a shower, lolol
Interrupted by snotty, but bright and breezy young lady, wanting breakfast, and asking for it properly with pleases and thank you's all in the right places and totally unprompted.... that has been a bit of a struggle, has that one. She has always said it beautifully with prompts... she is eating now, and watching Ceebeebies, how decadent is that?
Ann, she is sat with her shoebox (from her pretty sandals on her last visit) filled with her stickers, notebook, colouring pencils, and the bag with her name on it that you sent her prezzie in. She says it is her favourite box. That box even goes to bed with her!
Well, off to be entertained, lol
Have a lovely day, everyone
Love
Yes no matter what age they are it is great to spend time with them. Eldest is now looking to buy a house with his girlfriend, it doesn't seem possible that I have a grandson old enough to be getting a mortgage, but he seems to be doing really well at work and has had a promotion so they can just get a mortgage (with Mum's help) to get them on the ladder. I am so proud of him. Youngest gave us both a lovely hug when he first saw us, I sort of fit under his arm pit now!! He is over 6 foot. He has taken up re-enacting and is training to be a viking Lol!!! He'd be good at it, whatever he does he gives his all.
Yes sister enjoyed her stay thanks.
After we dropped her off at home and T did a couple of quick jobs she needed doing we took ourselves to a pub near daughter for lunch where we sat outside in the pub garden overlooking a lake with ducks and swans with their cygnets, it was beautifully sunny and we were shaded by tree so it was really relaxing. We then went to a garden centre for coffee and bought some Gazanias, then went to daughters, can't get there too early on Fridays as they both work from home.
It was good to see two of our Grandsons over the weekend, middle one is away in Plymouth. Yesterday we went to the big M&S and this morning another 2 garden centres and hobbycraft. So we had a good weekend. Friday we had chinese and Saturday and today SiL cooked. So I feel rested now.
Evening all! *flops down into comfy chair*
Madam is now being read her story, and will soon be in the land of nod. Where do they get their energy? She hasn't stopped, all day, constantly on the go. Very eager to *help* lol... bet when she gets to about 14 she won't be so keen, lolol
BC, that is just tragic.... I do hope it has cooled down enough for you to have a nice chilled glass of vino!! What is the weather coming to in this country, when it is too warm for wine? lolol
Mummo, that sounds delicious... we had chicken and tomato in the slow cooker, and pasta. Also had salad at lunch time, and as a couple of mini snacks through the day. Plus the last of the jelly, and Magnums. Very civilised, lol.
Ann, pleased to see you back safely.... hope your sister enjoyed her stay with you? Put your feet up and relax for a day or so now... you have earned a whole chunk of *me* time, I reckon!
Off to move the sprinkler for the next bit of watering......
Morning Maz... it was a lovely day..... and set to continue today, as well, lol... the paddling pool has a small leak, so that is now being refilled, Grampy is adding hot water by the kettle full so it isn't too cold for her. She is currently on her roundabout.... aka my swivel chair, lol We had a few tears this morning... seems she was sad because it isn't my birthday anymore. She was fine when I reminded her that there is lots of jelly and icecream left, so we can have another party today.
I think it will be another day in the garden. If it is going to be so hot, then it would be better to be hot at home rather than in a traffic jam to a beach or park.... and we have all week to do that.
So..... relax in the garden, then. ;¬))
Have a wonderful day, everyone, and hope you all find fun ways to keep cool!!
Love
