Beverley Report 11 Aug 2010 07:48

Good morning all. I hope all are well.

Phew – what a morning.

Had to rummage in the cupboard for the orange dungarees – last worn in the 70’s and three sizes too small.

Also had to find the orange t-shirt – last used for painting the lounge (some blue paint blobs on it).

Headband – hmm – found a yellow hat, (that will have to do) cut the top out and stuck some sequines and a feather on it.

Boots – dashed out to the garage and found a pair of OH wellies (three sizes too big) and a can of yellow spray paint. That should do it.

Legwarmers – a pair of OH fishing socks with the toes cut out (again, three sizes too big).

Armbands – a pair of rubber swimming armbands with more sequines.

Clip on big dangly diamante earrings and I should be ready.

Except – spent 20 minutes trying to get in the dungarees and can’t sit down now. Oh well – that will have to do.

Quickly print off the words to the song and dash out the door (luckily I don’t have to get the bus).

Not sure what the blokes at work thought and the boss can’t understand why I’m standing at my computer and won’t sit down but what the heck!!.

So – I’m ready for inspection Sergeant Major Daff – just don’t get too close to the boots as the paint is still wet.

Ooh, may I join up please..?

Shy as I am I'd love to make you glow with laughter Daff:))

Orange doesn't do to much for me ..clashes with my natural muddy tan.
I've not been tango'd honestly it is all real. But mix the orange with a pale primrose, go down a treat.
Do i have to wear lime leggings..Yuk..me legs are my best feature.lol
Everything else has gone South.. and just not for the winter !
Fluffy slippers at the ready..are pink OK.?
If we are splitting into 2 battalions , I'll go with the tipplers and bring my own.

Take care
luv Sandie.xxx

I don't know how I am going to sleep, I have laughed so much, lolol.... You all look fantastic by the way, I love the colour combination and the added bling... hubby did mention that he didn't realise that wellies came with four inch heels, lolol ;¬))

I shall inspect the troops at a reasonable time tomorrow (I have my Talkathon at 10 30) and please bring your fluffy slippers and armchairs for the aerobics and manouvers.... those wishing to do extra weight training (the remedials, you know who you are) will need to bring their own glasses and beverage of choice.

I have really laughed... lolol.

Night night, see you tomorrow.

Love

AnninGlos Report 10 Aug 2010 22:23

I should think Daff's army certainly is growing, we will soon have to split into two battalions (Is that right? Not sure what armies do. Now if it was RAF I could say squadrons Hmm!)

Florescent green leg warmers, very chic!!

Dearest Daff,
haven't been on this board for a while and have only just found out the latest news, so so sorry to hear that th results yesterday were not as you would of hoped. But I'm sure that with the fantastic support you have from your family, your personnel friends and ALL your cyber friends you will beat this thing. Now can I also join the army? I quite fancy wearing an orange uniform, yellow wellys and diamanté Pat Butcher earrings. Now how about some fluroscent lime green leg warmers as well? It is soon going to be getting cooler and I hate having cold legs.

Well I'm now going to go and get a glass of wine before I hit the sack so take care Daff and your army grows stronger and bigger everyday.

Wonderful song you clever girls! I was thinking do you think it would be a bit OTT if we wore diamente dangly earrings? Just in case our uniforms look a bit drab? Just a thought but am open to suggestions or even downright refusals or abuse........lolol....

Amanda,Carol and Rose the song is brilliant as it fits the tune so well I was singing it along with the video and now my oh thinks I have gone mad (could be right I suppose)
I will wear the orange uniform, yellow boots and sparkly bands with pride when I am singing along, the neighbours will love it I'm sure.

Hope you get your pjs etc sorted Daff.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 10 Aug 2010 17:25

Wmsl..... The singing is wonderful... I can't get it out of my head... and I shall print the song off and have it on the wall beside my bed when I go in, lolol

I couldn't find knickers and pj's that I liked, big enough (yep, my bum does look big in everything, lol) and I don't know whether it is subliminal or what... but I have an orange sweater on!!

We are back off out in a mo... I am restless, and R is back in work tomorrow. He spent half of yesterday evening texting his boss (ex military colleague) and he has time off on the same basis as before. They really are brilliant. But I want to go to T***o now.... I remember seeing something there that would fit.....

You all look absolutely fabulous.... erm, wasn't there a tv series once ;¬)) Well, you could all have been stars in it, I can tell you.....

Tenna is also on my shopping list, lolol

I think I could have delegated back to my lovely husband, but that would have meant leaving it until this evening. (We didn't know about it until late last night.) Anyway, I am quite proud that I seem to have cured the problem.

I am sure Daff looks very fetching with her novel ear decoration - perhaps she has enhanced the cotton wool with glitter.

I am very pleased with my yellow wellies - at least if I fall over in the shrubbery, my feet with show where I am.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 10 Aug 2010 17:15

Lol Elizabeth, didn't you have anyone to whom you could delegate? Are you where the buck stops then?
And I have to say those yellow wellies do suit you. Glad you could hear us singing. Don't think Daff has heard yet, or maybe she has and has stuffed some of R's cotton wool in her ears!!

Elisabeth

Elisabeth Report 10 Aug 2010 17:04

I was very busy doing household duties and there was all this singing coming from this thread, with people marching up and down in orange uniforms with glitter and yellow boots! I am now trying to pull on my uniform and boots to catch up. Wait for me ..........

Puff, puff. There, made it. I hope I can keep up.

I am tired after a few hours of gardening at Mum-in-law's house and dealing with a wasps nest. Thankfully she didn't know the nest was there! Window cleaner tells neighbour it is there yesterday, neighbour tells window cleaner not to tell her so she doesn't worry, neighbour rings me, I tell husband, he tells me to sort it. It's called delegation. I think I have now evicted the wasps from the airbrick! Did you follow all of that?

Time to sort out something for us to eat.

Rose I would quit while you are ahead.
And for the second time I failed to download the Adobe flash on this new PC. Firefox seems to do it differently and I have had two goes. So haven't been able to see the video. However I know the tune.!!!
