Hi SM Daff and all
Ooops - seems I missed the 10 mile hike. Never mind - I'll try to do tomorrow's manoovers instead.
I hope all are well and not too washed out by the rain yesterday although we didn't get as much as we expected here in Suffolk. Today is much better though.

Morning all.... I am on cleaning duty today, lol.... well, I will be supervising it.
My donor and his lovely wife will be staying here tonight... they are bringing their 11 year old foster son with them, so I shall be meeting him for the first time... We are going over everything, and he will be phoning the specialist nurse to talk with her as well. He has the number, but he wants to be here when he does talk to her cos he doesn't really understand medical jargon. SiL is putting him on a strict health regime, and I have to save him from that, as well, lolol
So, we have bedrooms to sort out, and bedding to air, and the airbed to buy a new battery for. B will be sleeping in with Littlie, we have a giraffe fold up bed that she is dying to test run, and he will use her bed.... then L will sleep in B's room, and Bro and SiL will sleep in the living room. One day R will sort out his computer room and we can get a little fold up bed for there as well.
In fact, this whole house is *part finished* lolol
We really need a good lottery win to pay for it, plus to buy B his own pad and pay off R Junior's mortgage..... *huge sigh* Welll.... it would help if we did the lottery first though, wouldn't it?? lolol
I must be off now.... things to supervise. Shopping list to sort out.... Men to organise, and Littlie to shower.... she likes it when I shower her, she gets longer in there. Men just don't understand the female need to just let the water flow over them until they turn into wrinkled prunes, do they??? lolol
Have a wonderful day everyone.. BC, is Hermie in the loo with your wee doggie (did you like the pun, lolol unintentional, I promise) cos that is where he goes during thunder storms as well. Pol goes there when it is too hot anywhere else in the summer... and the heating pipes keep it nice and warm in the winter.
Oh... and I want to start a blog, anyone know how to do it? I wouldn't know where to start, lol.
Take care
Love
Daff xxxxxx

Evening SM Daff and fellow squaddies,
We have had a good day - even if my wellies got a little scuffed. We have demolished a huge Clematis Montana, which always gets too big, though we have left a few shoots. It is climbing up a 6 foot wall, with 2 feet of trellis on the top. With the forecast strong winds and rain in the next day or two, it was time to sort it out before the weight broke the trellis - again! After all that we cut the lawns, or he did the back and I did the front lawns. It all helps to pick up the bits that missed the bags.
Time to shine my buttons and scrub the wellies and call it a day. (Have you read Izzy's posting about Ash's escape for a few hours and drinking beer!??)
Have a happy evening.
Love, Elisabeth xx

Hi Daff and troops.
I'm back from my jolly weekend and ready for manoovers. What's that? Tin cans? Wow - I haven't done that for lots (I'm not counting) of years. Except it was the Marvel tins (condensed milk) that worked better than baked beans. They had such a wonderful sound for marching. But, alas, they were not orange :-((( And we have communication devices too. The kids of today don't know what they are missing do they? They would rather have high-heeled boots and a mobile phone.
Daff - I thought you were supposed to be resting!! We keep telling you and what's happening? Playing shop, gardening, DVDs, trips to buy ponies etc? Now - rest!!
Hope the troops have had as good a weekend as I have.

Maybe we could adopt Hi Ho Hi Ho of Snow white fame as a marching song.
Surely many of us know the Disney classics. Either from our own childhood or those of our children and maybe even grandchildren.
Have a great day everyone

Morning all.... please bear with me, I am using an old cumbersome keyboard and not my ergo-wotsit one... *sighs* I don't think my old keyboard will recover... it had got used to sharing my sarnies, toast and spagh bol, lol but the glass of sherry I poured all over it last night may have been just a bit too much.
Littlie is currently watching Jungle book. Something I have noticed over the last couple of visits is that her taste is becoming far less insular and she has moved from a diet of Ceebeebies and Peppa Pig to a much more eclectic range. I have the Videos of most Disney Classics, as well as the DVD's of others and she has them all lined up in order of preference. We played shop this morning for an hour, and then we read a story, singing along to the songs (nursery rhymes, some she had never heard before, she is impressed that I know all the words, so of course anyone coming along with the correct ones, will be wrong in her little eyes cos Granny got there first, lol)... I read her some of the stories from Grampie's very old book *Just so Stories*, and she was enthralled. She has never seen it, but is enjoying it so far. Just finished marching around the living room with the elephants, that bit has been rewound a couple of times already! I can't wait til she gets to the I wanna be like you oooh ooh one... I sang bits of that to her yesterday, lol
And then we shall be throwing glitter at the pony she painted so beautifully yesterday. She took her frog money box to the money machine yesterday, and got a tenner out of it (I rounded it up a bit, it was just short of) and she bought herself loads of little things including the pony. She has been on a hunt for loose change ever since. I have hidden my purse or I would have been penniless. Grampie wasn't quick enough and his pockets are now empty and jingle-free. lolol
The weather looks better this morning.... but I am so pleased that Gwyn has her thinking cap on... I had forgotten about the tin can stilts, so yes, while we have all of this mud from the rain, and while you are all stood down and wearing mufti, then the tin can stilts are brilliant.
You can also use them to communicate with each other... but do remember to wipe the mud off first, unless you are going for a mud facemask, and then of course it would kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.
I need to tidy up a bit... I have my brother, his wife and their foster son coming to stay for the night tomorrow. I have picked up two new grandchildren and a nephew in the last couple of weeks, lolol..... Brilliant!
You all look very wonderful, I have to say..... I have bought some orange pyjamas, lime green socks (couldn't find lime green bed socks) and I have bright yellow slippers... the headbands and cowboy hat will be ok, I am sure. My pyjamas do have a cow on the front, but that is ok... it is a very cute little cow ;¬)))
Right.... madam has finished her yoghurt, and now wants the Weetabix bit of her breakfast... she had the banana earlier. She has let me get to the ulcers on her tongue with some fairy magic ointment that Tinkerbell must have left last night, so is feeling more comfortable now. She did make such a song and dance about it though, and at one stage I really feared for the safety of my typing finger, lol
Have a wonderful day everyone..... the sun is trying to peek through the clouds here, so maybe a trip to the park later???? While I go and lie down in a darkened room, lol R is up with me, though, so I am not on my own.
Loads of love
Daff xxxxxxx
