Morning Daff .Mr D and all:-) I hope there is a big improvement today and tht the infection is beaten.

Maz, good thinking, Mr D will need his 100 shirts ironed (impeccably), good wholesome food can be cooked, the cats can be put in order, but all to be done unobtrusively. Any ideas how this can be accomplished without being seen? A binliner can be worn to cover our glitter and plastic bags to be worn over wellies (to cover our footprints)...

I will leave you to ponder:-))

Evening all,

I think I have just got it ... 14lbs flour ... a stone!!! (i.e. rock)

Sorry to hear that Daff is still having a difficult time, but I am sure they are doing all they can to get the temperature sorted and the bloods back in the right state.

I hope you are getting lots of rest yourself and are keeping yourself well.

We are all standing shoulder to shoulder ready to welcome our SM home and back on parade.

Love,
Elisabeth xx

So frustrating all round then R? I assume they have not tracked the source of the infection yet then if temp is still spiking.
Felines are probably demanding food as a substitute for Mum's cuddles.

Erm 14 pounds of flour would make a large rock....cake yes.

MrDaff

MrDaff Report 15 Oct 2010 20:45

Evening all.
Not much change to yesterday - a bit more alert today (and Britain needs Lerts...to coin a (very)old phrase), but temp spiking, drinking around the same and eating the same. Daff spent a lot of last night on oxygen to help control respiration, which was erratic, and has needed both blood and platelet IV's today - as the blood hadn't been started when I left, that will mean another disturbed night as each bag of blood takes up to 4 hours and she needs two. One could wait until the morning, though....which they may decide to do.
IV Paracetemol being given to help bring down temps, but taking p/mol causes the 'sweats', which again is uncomfortable - not a good cycle....

Hotpoint chuntering away again, and felines eating me out of house and home ( could be a cold snap on the way..).

Do you need 14lbs of flour to make a rock cake, btw ? ;o)

G'night,

R

Afternoon all,

BC - I have a large bag of conkers collected from the cemetery last week. They are supposed to ward off spiders, so they might help with Daff's bugs. Worth a try anyway.

Ann - the book launch was some diaries from the 19th century, which have been published by the local council. The family have been in business in the area for a couple of centuries and were covering the time of Gladstone's election to parliament.

I hope Daff is having a better day and that Mr Daff has been able to rest too. We need them both for inspection of buttons and boots when we are all ready for parade.

Have a good weekend.

Good afternoon Daff and all and thank you for keeping us informed, Mr D:-) I do hope Daff will have a better day and will start eating a little.

Sorry to say but the salmon rock buns were so delicious me and the cats ate em all so we shall have to think of something else to scare the bejasus out of them pesky bugs. ....hmmmm...conkers and catapults? stink bombs? all ideas welcome and I think we could do with more glitter:-)))

Apologies all - last nights update appears to have fled into the ether, ne'er to be seen again....sigh.

Daff had another poor night with little rest, so dozed most of yesterday. More scans, x-rays and ecg's as well, but fluid intake seems to be improving a little. Food intake unchanged.

Cheers !

Sounds interesting Elisabeth. What book was it?

Good morning all, hope Daff had a good night and the temp is behaving and the infection disappearing. Off to the chiropodist this morning and flu jab this afternoon, fingers crossed for no reaction as we are away at the weekend at daughters and going to a 70 th lunch.
